Hello!
« on: Yesterday at 06:21:00 PM »
Required Questions:
These questions must be answered to start your application

1.    Tell us how you found us, please? A link from another site, another member, a search engine phrase, etcetera.

I looked you guys up on Bing (not really, it was Google). I was searching for an adult roleplay forum, it suggested a bunch of websites, including Elliquiy.

2.    Confirmation that you understand our rules. You are responsible for bringing up any questions if you do not understand our rules, so please note any on which you need clarification here.

I understand the rules and agree to abide by them

3.    A confirmation that you are over eighteen (18) years of age. You don't need to give your birth date, however we do need a clear statement that you are of age.

I am 26 years old.

4.    Your native language(s) and what region you are from. List your primary language first and include all others in order of fluency. Elliquiy is an English speaking community but it is also a global one.  We welcome members from all over the world, and we love to know where our members hail from.

I am from USA, and English is the only language I know.

5.    What are your reasons for joining Elliquiy, and what aspects of our community are you interested in? What do you look for in an on-line community in general, and a role-playing community specifically? Please be descriptive. Elliquiy isn’t just an adult roleplaying site: we have forums for storytelling, poetry, and art; places to socialize with other members; areas to discuss politics and religion; and so much more! You can check out our Preview of Elliquiy to get an idea of what you’ll see as an approved member.

I used to be an active roleplayer back in college, but then real life happened and I had to stop. Now I am looking to get back into it, and I am looking for a welcoming community to join. Elliquiy seems to be just the right place. The community here seems vibrant, welcoming and non judgmental. It seems like there are so many talented writers and creative thinkers at Elliquiy, and I think being part of such a community would allow me to improve my writing skills.

6.    Are you new to roleplaying? If so, would you like someone to help you get more involved? If not, please tell us a little about your past experiences. Regardless of your experience what are your expectations from a roleplay partner?

Like I said before, I used to roleplay back in college but then stopped as I couldn't find time. I haven't really roleplayed on a forum before, back when I was active, it was mostly through Email. I had found a few willing partners through reddit and other such websites, and we used to play out different scenes.

From a roleplay partner, I expect good communication, patience and understanding. Often times, people are not able to reply, and it can be a few days/weeks before they can actually get back to the roleplay, in times like these, its best to communicate clearly. Also, it is possible that they might not feel like continuing a roleplay any further, in that case, I expect my roleplay partners to say it so as opposed to ghosting.

7.    Elliquiy consists of a wide array of sexualities, personalities and enthusiasts of various kinks. How comfortable are you interacting in such a community?

I am very comfortable with different sexualities and kinks. If I am not into something (Like scat), I will stay away from it, but I won't bother anyone who maybe into it.

8.    How do you feel about males writing as female characters or females writing as male characters? Please elaborate: do you do this yourself? Would you write with someone who is doing this? If you are transgender or intersex, feel free to adapt this question appropriately.

I don't mind males writing as females, or females writing as males. I don't normally do this, but depending on the roleplay I might. I have done it before. And yes, I will write with someone who is doing this.

9.    Let us know about your pet peeves or other things that bother you. Fetishes you do not like, styles you cannot appreciate and attitudes that annoy you are all valid answers here.

I am open to most things, I am not into stuff like scat, gore, extreme bondage etc. And I am not a big fan of first person writing either. I like my characters to be smart (I don't like playing bimbo characters) and I prefer stories that closer to reality (with some exceptions)

Optional Questions:
As our application process is a chance for us to get to know you better, we've left a few optional questions to get you started.  A member of our Welcoming team will be along soon to continue the process. If you do choose to answer these at a later date, you will need to reply to your introduction thread with a new post, as unapproved applicants cannot edit posts.

A.    Would you like to disclose your gender identity? We do not require our members to reveal their real gender. However, doing so determines your User Group, Badge, and some OOC Boards on Elliquiy. General membership will be processed as Legate - approved members who do not wish to disclose their gender identity, or feel gender is irrelevant. Approved members who have chosen to reveal their gender as a response to this question will be assigned: Lady (for those who identify as female), Liege (A supportive group for individuals who are intersex, do not identify with one singular gender, or who are transitioning), or Lord (for those who identify as male). A full explanation of Elliquiy’s User Group and Badge system can be found here.

I am a Lady

B.    What are some hobbies or activities you particularly enjoy? This can be anything you enjoy in your free time. For example: videogames, sports, cooking, crafts, traveling, reading, etcetera. As a large and diverse community, we often have social areas where our members can talk about their favorite things, so letting us know what you like can better help our Mentors to find boards, threads, or discussions that might interest you!

I like reading, swimming, and playing ping-pong and foosball. I also like cooking, and lately I have been learning to cook various Indian dishes. I also watch a lot of movies and Tv shows, but I don't think that comes anywhere close to being a hobby.

C.    What would you do if a writing partner suddenly, and without prior discussion, included one of your major offs in your roleplay?

Message them to let them know that I am not comfortable including that in our roleplay. Hopefully, they will be understanding and not include it in our roleplay anymore.

D.    Please describe your writing style and preferences. Information such as preferred genre, writing perspective (first, second, or third person perspective), setting, and post length are great answers.

I write in third-person, typical post is 3-5 paragraphs long. I like roleplaying scenes that are closer to reality, so most of my roleplays are contemporary. I prefer to inject a lot of witty banter in my scenes, given that my partner is up for it or that the scene warrants it.

E.    Please describe your ideal roleplaying partner and their character.

In a roleplay only three things matter: Communication, Communication and Communication (say communication one more time, I double dare you!)

Ideal partner would be willing to exchange ideas, will be forthcoming in letting me know what is working and what isn't, and what they would like included or done. I like to build things slowly, I believe this isn't porn where two people meet and just start f*cking without even knowing each others names(That could be hot though).

F.    As part of the application process, our members like asking fun questions of applicants. We want to get to know you and entertain you during your approval process!

F1. Please let us know if you would you prefer: fun/silly questions, writing prompts, both, or neither. If you opt out, our Staff and Mentors will ask you more serious questions about writing and roleplaying instead.

OMG! Yes Please. I choose Fun/Silly questions.

F2. If you would like fun questions or a writing prompt, please start by treating the following as either a question, writing prompt, or character building exercise, and remember to keep it PG13: People start waking up with superpowers, but they are mostly useless. For example, the power to be immune to every third bullet, or the power to force people to do the chicken dance whenever the song is played. What would your ‘mostly useless’ power be, and how would you use it?

My superpower is being able to talk to fish. Now you are thinking that is not a useless power, I mean look at Aquaman, he totally kicks butt being able to control fish. And I agree, Aquaman totally rocks mainly because he was Khal Drogo in past life, but that is not the point. My superpower of being able to communicate with fish is totally useless, you know why, because I live right in the middle of a freaking desert. There are no fish here, I mean, there are, but they are all dead.

The only live ones we have got here can fit in a fish bowl and have a memory of 15 seconds, so by the time I finish giving my order, they have already forgotten who I was. And if by some miracle, they do retain what I had asked for, all they can do is jump out of that fish bowl, and flap like Magikarp till I pick them back up and drop them in their fish bowl again.

Sure if I wanted to I can summon an army of goldfish, but I can't carry that many fishbowls in my car. And even if I did that, started driving around a truck full of fish bowls with goldfish in them, what good is an army of goldfish anyway, what are they going to do? Splash water on my opponent till he/she gives up because now their supervillain costume is all wet, and my fish have ruined their makeup. I would make the worst superhero, can you imagine, being in Gotham city, Penguin is thrashing everything, causing chaos, and I show up with my truck full of fish. What do you reckon Penguin is going to do? Run? Hide? Beg for mercy? Oh please, he will be setting up dinner table with expensive wine and sh*t. He will have a healthy and filling dinner, and I will end up being the crazy fish lady who yells weird things standing over puddles of rain water. Nope, that power is no good.

G.    Do you have any questions of us? If you have any questions or desires of us in a more direct fashion, please feel free to let us know.

As of now I don't have any questions

Thank You :)

Hello, TheRedHeadedRabbit.

Welcome to Elliquiy! I'm Mirrah, one of the Mentors here at E, and I'd like to thank you for taking the time to complete the questionnaire. This helps us get to know you better while the approval process takes place.

It can take up to a minimum of 24-48 hours for the application to be processed and up to a week or longer, though approval is never guaranteed. For more information about the approval process, you can go here.

While your application is being processed, we'd like to encourage you to socialize and explore the areas of E that are available to you. Here are a few links to some of them:

  • The Doormat - A great place to hang out. Socialize with other applicants and members of E!
  • Word of the Day - Join us in a word game writing challenge!
  • The ShoutBox - Our realtime chat. Please read the rules before joining it!
  • The Non-Adult Role Plays section - You don't have to wait to start roleplaying - this is our PG-13 roleplaying section.

Please remember to keep all of your posts in the above threads PG-13, including here in your introduction thread and any images you share.

I hope you enjoy the duration of your application process (make sure to return periodically to check on and respond to this thread, since that will keep it active)!

Now, to kick things off, here's a question for you: If you could choose any song to play as your theme song when you walk into a room, which song would it be? Why?

Best of luck!
Mirrah

Hey Naiah,

Thanks for taking the time to read my questionnaire.

The last time I faceplamed was last Friday, I was at a small party/gathering of friends. We were all drinking, smoking, dancing and in general, having fun. All of a sudden a friend announces that she needs to barf, another friend, in panic, looks for something for her to barf into and finds this trash can. Except that it is one of those mesh ones with no trash bag inside, I am all the way on the other side of the room watching all this unfold, by the time it clicks in my boozed up mind, she had already puked in the trash can. The meshed trash can does, what its supposed do, it holds nothing and lets it all fall down. The host stares at them almost about to explode, the rest of us are laughing and face-palming.

Hey Mirrah,

Interesting question! I would say The final Countdown by Europe would be my choice. It was a chart buster back in the 80s, and always gets me all psyched up listening to it. Would be a great song to make an entrance to, feeling all confident and psyched haha.

Hello TheRedHeadedRabbit, and welcome to our corner of the internet! We're glad you found your way here!  :-)

I just wanted to stop by with a question, if you don't mind:

What is your favorite, and least favorite part about roleplaying? And why?

Looking forward to your reply, whenever you get the chance.

Mel

Thank you for your answer, TheRedHeadedRabbit!

It really is a great song to use for that purpose! I would have trouble deciding on a song, really. There are so many! I'd end up wanting an entire playlist, just because of my indecision! :o Whew! XD

I'll try to pop by again with another question for you when I've got one. :D

Until then, best of luck on your approval!

Hey Millific,

Hmm..I think my favorite part is finding a partner that I click with, if we share the same ideas, like the same things, and have the same desires then it gets fun to play out. I also love it when the characters we are playing have good chemistry, with a lot of banter/flirting going on. The part I hate the most is when people stop replying, I can understand that after sometime a roleplay might stop working for them, and I hate it when they just bail without letting me know that they are done.

Thanks for stopping by Mirrah.

Yeah its such a good question. I had trouble deciding too. It helped that I had heard that song the same morning :)
