The Phoenix Effect

^Prologue

It all started in the 19th century.   The year 1863 the railroad Trans Union Pacific has in the midst of a savage civil war raging back in the east.   Has begun the trans continental railroad in Council Bluff, Iowa.   

A  young cartographer  part of the survey team.   With his young wife Magdalen (Maggie) and their children,  two at the time.    Two more children would be born during this period that would last six years.   Maggie is 18 years of age, having already given birth to their two children.   As she was sixteen when they had married.   She have in those first couple of successive years.   Their 3rd and 4th child.  When she finally get a break from being pregnant.   

It's 1867,  Maggie husband has been part of the survey team finding a better shorter route.  That would lead to the connection of Denver to the newly formed city of  Cheyenne.   The native American tribes viewed the coming of the railroad as hell on wheels   An in response they would attack.   Maggie this year becomes a widow.   As her husband is killed by a Dakota war party that had caught the survey team.   

Leaving Maggie with four children ranging in age from five, four,  three and two years of age.  Up until that point as their goal was to settle with the family in California upon reaching it.   Her husbands monthly salary had been a nice $90 a month.   Most laborers were paid around $30 a month.   Which comprised of a large contingent of Chinese workers.   

The plunge is quick into retched poverty.   There is no pension,   the money being saved is gone in six months.   The only jobs that can find is laborer jobs for Maggie and that is as a laundress.  Which paid her bare minimum of   $5 a month.   

All that changes,  as Maggie is a beauty.    She draws the attention of one of the wealthy financiers of the project and would become his kept mistress.   Of course he did not want a mistress with four children.   He would have them put in a boarding school in Denver.   It thou is a one of high quality where the four children would grow up.   An this wealthy man would for the entirety of their stay make payments for them.   Now he was a man of rare tastes.   He himself was sterile,  yet he would have a son with his wife, who stayed east with the son.   Thus  Maggie would not get pregnant again.   Now as mentioned he had particular tastes.  One of those tastes was body art of tattoos.    An that taste in having his kept women being tattooed.   A elderly Chinese man who is skilled in such as a tattoo artist is who he finds.  Too old to work as a track layer, this elderly Chinese man has been working as a cook for the laborers.  The first tattoos are two butterflies just on the right side above her genitalia in the front of her hip.   They are significant for they would come to represent her travel through time.   But the last one is the most significant and that is the larger one.   Just at the end of being 21 years of age and going to turn 22.   Maggie has to endure a tattoo that covers her left side.   From just below her rib cage to mid thigh over her left hip, a tattoo of a phoenix.   

The transcontinental railroad would be completed in 1869.   She would for the next thirty years live in San Francisco as a mistress.   Her patron, would travel back and forth between her and his wife and illegitimate son.   Who he believed was his,  as his wife had been unfaithful.   He had attributed the lack of Maggie becoming pregnant as being her fault that she had used up all of her child birthing with the four.     Now being a kept woman,  allowed her excess to the upper echelon of society in San Francisco.  So that at age 51 when he died,  she had been supported well and well as quite well off.   For the next twenty years she would take lovers as a madame of San Francisco.   But  at the elderly age of 71 she would return to Denver.   To look and reconnect with her four children.    He had kept from which boarding school,  in where they had been placed.  She only knew it was Denver.   He had let that slip some  years before,  actually in the first year she had been with him.  But as time had gone by the ache in her heart had dulled and well she had become what he had wanted his kept whore.   

Four years she searched in Denver,   but over 50 years had gone by and most of the leads had proved false.   An finally when a lead that will lead her to her four children.    A accident in which she is hit by a automobile in the street killing the now elderly Maggie.   

Five generations pass,  since Maggie had died.    Through she had been well off and wealthy from her years as a kept women.  And had many lovers afterward.  She had been alone and well her burial had been in a simple pine coffin.    The year is 2017,  and the coffin of Maggie's has rotted,  the grave yard  a small one has been left unattended for over 60 years.   Because of such the grave markers are gone.     A developer has brought the land and is clearing out the scrub to being building a housing subdivision.     The graveyard is discovered,  work stops as the coffins have been found.   One of them uncovered is Maggie's.    Unknown to her is her fifth remove legacy that had spawn from her womb is the developer.  As he has hired a extraction team to finish digging up the graves and move them to a new resting spot.   That night with the magic of the phoenix tattoo she had received all those years ago.  Maggie returns to the living as a 21 year old.   

That morning the workers return to find a very disorientated Maggie.   A young woman approximately 21 years of age.  Nude, and with a tattoo of a phoenix on her left side and butterflies.   Her memory is fragmented,  she remembers in splotchy sketchiness her life before.   But it is like a dream.   The four  her children,  is feint memory that cannot be solidified.   Couple this with how the world has advanced. 
Those workers would take her to her not realized descendent.

A beautiful young woman has appeared.   She was found naked with the coffins uncovered at your development site.   The woman is disorientated and you suspect she has amnesia.   Her speech is different,   its English but yet it is different from how people speak.    She's in to tattoos that is evident with the ones she has especially the large one of a phoenix.    More importantly she is very beautiful.   Yet there is something about her.   Her eyes hold a depth of a lifetime well beyond the 21 years of age she seems to be.   Of course he takes her in.  She has no identity, no birth certificate,  driver license or state identification.   Even furthermore she has no clue to what a social security number is.   She is all practical purposes a true Jane Doe, named Maggie.   

She is  quite the sexual woman and quite fertile.    As their love begins to develop.    He had and is continuing to trace his ancestry, using such as Ancestry.com.   For the four siblings had been separated and gone their different paths.   But now he another investigation into the past, to find out who this women is that has captured his heart.   A woman that is naive with modern technology.   Who has no identity other then she is certain her name is Maggie.    Of course the big clue will be the phoenix tattoo.   Surely a tattoo shop and the artist would remember doing such a masterpiece of body art.   Yet this will come up short.  Always leading to a dead end.   But her past somehow becomes embroiled with his, as a phoenix tattoo is uncovered with the mistress of what he would think is his great many times over grandfather.   Which finally leads him and her to finding out she is the reincarnated Maggie who has come back at the age of twenty one when the phoenix tattoo had been completed by that elderly Chinese

The story is one of a improbable love story.   The elderly Chinese tattoo artist had sense the grieve and loss in Maggie over her children.    That power of love would be the trigger to the magic.   Out of the four siblings his line is the last and without her the family line will come to a end with him.   In truth fate has it that she can only be impregnated by her late husband bloodline.   She only reincarnates when the line is threaten.   To be the instrument that propels the line into the next succession of generations.    Like her he will or has not been able to impregnate another woman.   As the story is also about a incestuous affair that spans generations of the family in that moment in time being played out.    That will finally become revealed to the two lovers of past and present,   as they uncover the clues buried in the antiquity of time.   

Of course he will have been descended from one of the boys.   As to carry on the family surname of her married name.    One thing in her first life as a wife and then mistress.  She had grown up in a world where women served the needs of the men in their life.    Even her late husband,  who had impregnated her four straight years.    She had been molded into wanting to be bedded and to become pregnant.    Which would be twisted with becoming a kept mistress, the rules become more decadent.   Nudity, exhibition,  especially in the private of home,  as what purpose of such a beautiful piece of body art and it is kept covered.    Risque outfits in public,   as a madame would wear.   To even public displays of carnal acts.    This shapes Maggie, and to her descendent it appears and makes her a submissive.   As its not just the sexuality.  She has no interest in politics, that is a man's world.   For she had been born before suffrage movement.    Had lived most of her life before that. Now there is still family and it is still wide spread.   Great uncles, aunts,  cousins   and aunts and uncles.   Even a parents of his and well perhaps a sibling.   As each one because of various reasons will not procreate towards the continuing of the line.   Or they have come from the daughters,  who so long ago married into different family lines.   How does one tell them that his lover,  the woman he wants to marry and is more akin to a submissive slave is actually the matriarch of the family that had given the four sibling ancestors up and had become a kept mistress.   Who he now has impregnated.  It is a story worthy of the X-Files.

For those interested,  the story is not driven by smut alone.  Yes there is a extreme erotic tone to the story and in such  and will be about a third of the story.    Yet there is the other two thirds of the story.  With one third of it being the investigation into the past and ancestry that will reveal the truth to the both of them.   The final one third of the story dealing with him teaching her the modern world,  and of course her learning it.  Like learning how to drive or use a smart phone and the internet with wifi.  Basically the their everyday life.  Including meeting other family members in what was originally spawned from her womb.
