I was wondering if there is any tutorial on request threads?
If not does anyone have any ideas or suggestions they could share?
I am a bit overwhelmed and worried, I wish to make a good request thread with out sounding blunt or snappy.
I am more than happy to see what people have to share.
I am really badly craving a Hannibal Lecter rp right now!
I am also still seeking new rps. So please check out my request threads and let me know!

For request threads and personal Ons and Offs pages there is no real 'right and wrong' way to do them.

Looking at some of the other threads in the list and seeing what other people have done is probably the best way to get ideas about how to set your own up.  People are pretty understanding, especially when you're just starting out, and realize that these kinds of threads are often an ongoing high revision process.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Thank you very much, I am looking at other request threads as well. Though I like to know what kind of insight others can give as well.

Inkidu

My only advice is pick a nice font and size. If it's hard for you to read at a decent pace, it'll probably turn off perspective partners.
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

Thank you very much, any colors you suggest I do not use?

Beautiful Mystery

Yellow can be really hard to read on most. My suggestion is just using a basic color (like the default) because there is other themes. So if you use black, it will be unreadable in the Black & Blue theme.

When in doubt, just check it by changing your theme. (near the end of the Shoutbox at top, starts with Default, Wide Screen, Beige, etc) (:

As there are a number of different themes for the site (you can see them at the very bottom of the very first 'block' that make up the site. It's the one that has the shoutbox in it; it looks like a list of colors), I suggest starting out with the default color (black). Especially to lay things out with, first. You can always, also, preview the post, first, and then check it in different of the themes before posting it, to make sure that it shows up well on all of them.

[EDIT] Copy your text before previewing: changing themes will wipe it out each time. But I still think that if you are going to test colors, you should make sure it looks good in each theme. If people can't read it, they'll move on.

Thank you I will take that in consideration.

There are more themes than at the top of the screen (others can be found under Profile > Modify Profile > Look and Layout). However, the default black should be a safe colour (not black where you choose the word 'black') on any of the themes because on the dark themes, the text should show as white.

I don't really use request threads much, but if you add in pictures, I think it can really help make your ideas more appealing. While it's the writing that really matters, a lot of people are visual thinkers.
