Personality and History

Personality

Miles Morales though being a hero in his own right shares a few traits with Peter. The biggest one being responsibility. When his world lost Peter Parker he felt he could have done something to help him or possibly saved him. That weight of guilt, or refusing to use his powers when he discovered he found them is something he carried to this new universe. Miles has a strong sense of justice and even though the idea of being no good at this terrifies him he won't back down from his duties. He's a reasonably smart kid and loyal to a fault.

Biography

The story of Miles begins first with the story of another Marvel Universe. In this Universe Peter Parker was the Spider-man for a couple of years before dying at the hands of Norman Osborne. Close to the end Miles Uncle an infamous thief known as the prowler managed to break into a abandoned Oscorp lab with the purpose of stealing something else. During that time unbeknownst to Miles Uncle a spider crawled into his bag. That same bag ended up in his apartment where the spider crawled out and bit Miles. The spider seemed to have an accelerated effect on Miles as he began displaying powers the next day. Instead of wanting to use his powers for glory however Miles wanted nothing to do with them and tried to hide them in fear.

Hiding them in fear became Miles biggest regret when Peter died. He felt strongly that he might have been able to help Peter Parker. Due to the similarities between their powers Miles sought out the people closest to Peter to understand why he did it. It was the Gwen Stacy of this universe who told Miles about Peter statement and mission. The phrase with "Great power comes great responsibility" was uttered to Miles and the rest was history.

Since then Miles has sought and worked hard to prove himself as a hero in his own right. Most recently he found himself in the same dimension as the mainstay Marvel Universe. He's become the somewhat trainee of the Peter Parker of Earth 616 and settled into hero training in his own right.

Powers & Equipment

Powers:

Bitten by a slightly different genetically engineered spider than the one that granted Peter Parker's powers, Miles Morales possesses abilities similar to the original Spider-Man's, including enhanced strength and agility, the ability to adhere to walls and ceilings with his hands and feet, and a "spider sense" that warns him of danger with a buzzing sensation in his head. Though his strength and agility are similar to those of the original Spider-Man, his spider-sense is not as strong, as it only warns him of immediate danger.

He has two abilities that the original Spider-Man does not have: the ability to camouflage himself, including his clothing, to match his surroundings, and a "venom strike" that can paralyze almost anyone with just a touch. The venom strike does not employ actual venom, but is a type of directed energy that can be conducted through Miles' gloves,  and can be used against an opponent at a distance by conducting it through a material in which both Miles and his opponent are in contact, such as the webbing of the Earth-616's Spider-Man.


Equipment:

Miles wears a costume given to him by S.H.I.E.L.D., and initially uses Peter Parker's web shooters, which are given to him by May Parker. He is eventually given a new set of webshooters by S.H.I.E.L.D. as well.
