GHOSTBUSTERS: Wicked Kansas
Welcome to the metropolis of Grafstrom Kansas, home to six million Americans and the driving force behind the country's most recent technological revolution. Most surprisingly, this mid-west answer to New York was established less than two decades ago, thanks to the combined efforts of the government and several major corporations. However things have taken a darker turn of late, with all manner of spooks popping up to torment the populous, and that's where you come in... Graftstrom's Ghostbusters!
Licensed by the encumbered Mayor Kramer, a new branch of the famous paranormal investigations and eliminations specialists has been established to keep the city safe from the monsters now under their beds. Its members a mix of volunteers, established transfers and headhunted specialists who have been equipped and trained to do the company, and city funding them, proud.
But even then things aren't as plain as they seem, as many of the city's ruling elite (including its mayor) are responsible for this paranormal upsurge and have secretly infected the Ghostbusters with a demonic taint which they hope to spread to the entire population through exposure to the ghosts and those sent to capture them, with the intention of creating a supernaturally-empowered army with which to rule the world.
As one of these unknowingly infected Ghostbusters, will you work to stop this evil scheme or drive it to fruition?
ABOUT THE GAME
Set in a high tech 'New York' inspired American metropolis, this game will feature a mix of paranormal investigations and smut, with a demonic infection as the driving force (and excuse) for both. In terms of series lore, this game borrows from every aspect of the franchise, however as the latest of these chronologically (Extreme Ghostbusters) happened twenty years ago any inconsistencies between canons can be easily ignored as exaggerations, inaccurate reports or dramatizations (such as the movies being exactly that within the animated universe).
Each character will select one of following specialties:+Blasters
are experts at targeting and damaging ghosts;+Engineers
are experts at designing and maintaining the team's equipment;+Investigators
are experts at researching and tracking paranormal phenomena;+Spin-Doctors
are experts at keeping the team motivated and dealing with the public; or+Wranglers
are experts at directing and trapping ghosts.
They will also select one of the following equipment packs:+Proton Pack Mk I & Particle Thrower
the standard setup for most Ghostbusters, with a near unlimited battery life, and excellent accuracy/damage against ghosts;+Slime Pack & Blower
used to weaken/attract ghosts or as a non-lethal option against possessed humans, through its regenerating supply of positively-charged 'mood' slime;+Proton Pack Mk I & M.E.D. Wand
a weaker variant of the Mk I, that incorporates an optional slime stream which can heal the living or ensnare objects;+Proton Pack Mk II & Proton Gun
the most powerful setup that can be easily worn, but limited by its dependence on proton canisters; or+Proton Pistol Pack & 'Extreme' Ghost Trap
a light weight and weaker variant of the Mk I, along with a heavy duty trap capable of hovering and containing multiple ghosts.
