What are these little slider bars around our avatar pictures about?

I had some a few hours ago.  Now, they're gone again.

If your browser window isn't set wide enough to cover the whole avatar, it will give it scroll bars.

Has always been that way, but you'll see it more if you upload a wider avatar.

Aha.  The things you learn when you get a wider screen, too :)

I liked the last layout of the forums overall page btw.  I don't usually use it all, but it seemed generally accessible compared to what I remember from before.
Waiting to see what the next iteration will be like.
