Okey dokey, welcome, Sun! So, I understand this is one character of a pair of twins...so I'll give preliminary critiques and comments on this character, then look at the other one when he's ready.
He can withstand and absorb extreme amounts of kinetic force if he is hit, meaning he is borderline invulnerable to almost any blunt force impacts.
Are we to understand, then, that other forms of energy or force - electrical, heat, plasma, piercing, etc - affect him as per usual? Or does he have increased resilience to that, too?
Also, what is his Hard Limit on how much blunt force trauma he can take in this form? Like, could he brush off a careening 18-wheeler, or would that stun even him? Can he fall off of a 50-story building and be A-OK, or would that push him past his limits? Basically...if you were going to Brute Force him, what would it take to hurt him?
When he is struck by something with a great deal of energy and manages to contain it it will allow him to maintain this form for longer.
Eeeeh...unconvinced about this part. It basically means that the more you hit him, the tougher he gets, which might get a little OP at times. I would prefer it if hitting him hard reduced
his batteries, or at least had no effect.
His primary way of expending this energy is to implant it into others. This will allow the energy to rush through their system, finding 'flaws' and issues and rapidly repairing them.
Does he have to consciously focus on the injury, or is it automatic? Can he only heal injuries he can see or knows about, or does he instantly get a mental image of their physical state?
The more damage he has to fix the more energy it requires him to expend, rapidly tiring him if a person is severely injured and eventually using up his energy.
Is there a ratio here? Basically, what's the worst injury he can fix in a single sitting, and how much energy would it take? Would it drain him completely to, for example, repair a shattered kneecap, or could he feasibly cure cancer with this ability, if he used up all of his reserves?
He grows stronger consistently the closer he gets to his twin, Isaiah, while far apart his power is at best a small glow capable of healing a minor cut or bruise. When close enough this extends to severe wounds and even being able to fix injuries such as broken limbs.
Interesting. So, if he's far enough away from his twin, his power wouldn't activate at all? Or is there ALWAYS a manifestation of his ability, but within a certain distance, the ability gets stronger?
When he is not coated in the absorbing energy
Addressed this above.
the primary way he gains energy is from direct sunlight. Once he has exhausted his ability he will have to wait sometimes a very long period to absorb the energy again. His only method of rapid restoration is to use things like a sunbed to be exposed to days worth of UV radiation very fast.
Pretending, for a moment, he's a battery...on a sunny day, how fast would you say he charges, and what's his maximum? Like...if he had - for example - 100 units of power as his max storage, how fast would he charge on a sunny day? 1 unit a second? 4 units an hour? What kind of rate are we talking about here?
They quickly became the stars of the American Football, Rugby and Football teams, their drive and dedication showing through rapidly.
You said above that he focused on boxing over all else, so how could he become the star player of three
sporting teams, as well as presumably becoming the star member of the school boxing team?
Further, being the star player of three
teams is a bit much. There are only so many hours in the day, so he has to prioritise some sports over others. Being a member of three or four sports teams is feasible, but I'm afraid you'll have to pick one sports team to be considered a "star" of. He can be good at the others, but excel in only one (including boxing.)
Also, avoid language like "The Star," since it instantly means that you're saying that he's ALWAYS MUCH better than everybody else, and it places importance on one position over the others when, realistically, most sports don't work like that.
Plus, Dante is one of the two go-to starting Flankers for the rugby team, so he would perhaps resent the implication that he's less important than another position.
Actually, on that note, what position does he play in each of his sports? Would you mind providing a list of every sport he plays, whether he's a Starter or a Substitute, and what position he plays, please? He can be a
star player of one team in addition to his presumed status as "Top Boxer."
-Samuel is a very dedicated, almost obsessive, boxer who trains every day with no exceptions and has been relatively successful in joining the new circuit.
-Samuel is a member or substitute of almost all sports teams, although his favourite is by far rugby followed by American football.
See above. If he obsessively trains in boxing every day, he wouldn't have the time or energy to be part of every
sporting team. As well as boxing, maybe narrow it down to two or three.
At the moment, he just seems a bit too...well, unrealistically sporty. Assuming that every sport has two training sessions a week, and one game, that's a total of six training sessions and three games a week (assuming you choose three sports), plus daily boxing training and boxing matches that he might be involved in. Can you see why being a member of every sporting team is a bit of a stretch? Plus, Rugby and American Football train VERY different muscles and skills to hockey, basketball and swimming.
So...yeah, to make it more believable, maybe limit it to boxing + two or three other sports. And besides boxing, make one of them consider him "A Top Player." Remember, you're pitching two characters, so if you want them to have different sports skills, you can.
-He is a surprisingly talented watercolour artist, painting almost exclusively nature in the form of animals and plants, he finds it relaxing.
Around his sports, when the hell does he find time to practice / learn painting to a high standard?
Also, I understand that your Writing Prompt was done in a hurry, so if you want to add more to it when you have time - or just do an extra, more "complete" Writing Prompt for Sam's twin brother - then feel free.
I look forward to seeing the second twin brother and hearing your thoughts on my feedback!
