Haha, this is the Recruitment Thread, not the OOC, so nobody tends to be here. ;) And we have several IC Threads, the game is going ATM. BUt yes, the concept bio is approved. If you'd like to head over to the Character and Plot OOC:

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=248572.msg12287247#msg12287247

And introduce yourself. Start chatting on there and over PM about your Yearbook; basically, reach out and contact the other players on how your characters know each other. You'll need to have the majority of your Yearbook done before you will be allowed in the OOC Chatterbox (the off-topic OOC) or in the IC threads.

If you send the [ code] of your bio to me - that is, send the bio with the BBcode [ code] and [/ code] without the spaces - I will post it in the Character Thread. :-)

Ah, ok.

As for sending you the code....the best I could do is just copy paste the app in modify and then try and PM it to you. Keep in mind that copying large text is tricky for me right now with my Wii U.

I will jump over real quick, say hello and ask about my character and yearbook possibilities and then carry myself to bed. REALLY need to sleep.

NAME: Samuel Cain

AGE: 18

SEX: Male

APPEARANCE: Standing at 6'3" tall and 245lbs Samuel is an imposing figure. He has a very toned, muscular build due to his lifestyle and hobbies. He also has a lot of injuries sustained in those hobbies and during his early life. He has multiple fractures and breaks on his face, including a noticeably damaged nose and jaw. His eyes are dark and portray relatively minimal emotions. He keeps his face clean shaven and neat, his hair short and militaristic. He has a variety of religious tattoos including a large cross over his chest and a passage from the bible on each upper arm and each side of his upper back.

PERSONALITY: Samuel is a religious man, dedicated to his perceived 'will of God'. He will confront, often aggressively, criminally or morally wrong actions.  Now that he's older and more accepting his response will be measured, he will not be violent in the face of drug use but he will in the face of an assault, for example. He will follow his own version of the commandments and rules of the bible to the letter, and no amount of persuasive ability could sway his complete single mindedness. This doesn't mean he doesn't interact with others, and he does his absolute best to 'love his neighbor' and make friends/help others. He is easy to take advantage of, thinking nothing of selflessly doing others favours, so long as they don't go against the creed he has faith in.

He will relax and enjoy his life when around those he considers his friends, becoming surprisingly light and easygoing. When he was younger he frequently got into fights over his beliefs, but as he's grown and reunited with his twin he's adapted his attitude, becoming more accepting. He is a deeply damaged person beneath his twin obsessions of religion and boxing, hiding most of his personality behind those and his sport loving active lifestyle.

ORIENTATION: Straight

RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single, inexperienced

TYPE: Jock

POWER THEME: 'Light Form' Samuel can coat his entire body with pure energy, glowing a bright near blinding pure white. He can withstand extreme amounts of kinetic force if he is hit, meaning he is borderline invulnerable to most any blunt force impacts, although the quantity he can take is limited and while drain his energy. He can withstand an impact such as a direct impact from a four door car travelling at 50mph and be uninjured. Any more than this and he would sustain some degree of bruising injuries, approaching the force of a  50mph 6 wheeler truck cab, which would be enough force to break his energy and cause him several bruises, but not seriously harm him. His primary way of expending this energy is to implant it into others. This will allow the energy to rush through their system, finding 'flaws' and issues and rapidly repairing them. They will work more quickly and efficiently on minor injuries but are certainly capable of saving a life if they're used in time. The more damage he has to fix the more energy it requires him to expend, rapidly tiring him if a person is severely injured and eventually using up his energy. He grows stronger consistently the closer he gets to his twin, Isaiah, while far apart his power is at best a small glow capable of healing a minor cut or bruise. When close enough this extends to severe wounds and even being able to fix injuries such as broken limbs.

CHARACTER FLAW: Samuel's power is severely limited by his ability to absorb energy from areas around him. When he is not coated in the energy the primary way he gains energy is from direct sunlight. Once he has exhausted his ability he will have to wait sometimes a very long period to absorb the energy again. His only method of rapid restoration is to use things like a sunbed to be exposed to days worth of UV radiation very fast. At his maximum capacity he can contain 100 of his 'energy', on a cloudy day he would restore around 1-2 an hour, in bright sun it would be as much as 3-4 per hour. In a powerful sunbed he can reach a maximum of 10 per minute, but due to the potential danger of sunbeds he has to be extremely selective with using them to help him, and would only do so in a severe situation. He is very single minded and focused on his boxing and religion, often to the point of ignoring important matters. He can have issues interacting socially, particularly with less law abiding people, as he has a hard time understanding their mindset, but he does try to accept others.

BIOGRAPHY:  Samuel and his twin were born in a small town in Texas, living on a ranch far from any major towns. They were both raised by their father, a disturbed retired preacher who taught them his warped concept of religion from a young age and mercilessly beat any dissent from the two. While his twin fled the home at the age of 8 and was adopted Samuel refused to leave his father, lying to law enforcement about the source of his injuries and remaining at the ranch until he was in his late teens when his father showed him he had saved money to send him to a good school for better education and leave the ranch behind. His father was proud of his sons intentions to study law enforcement and wanted him to succeed. He was constantly fighting other children, then teenagers and now even adult men throughout his life, both in the ring and outside of it. He has been arrested multiple times but where he was from the law was corrupt enough to pardon a preachers son freely. He was reasonably acceptable at academic studies, particularly talented at anything involving the bible despite the misinformation his father fed him, and naturally extremely talented at any physical activity and joining as many sports teams as he could find.

When the twins were initially reunited they were both shocked. But they had barely said a few words before Samuel's twin had insulted his father and upbringing. Samuel flew into a rage instantly, slamming his brother violently into a set of lockers and dropping him hard in front of a corridor of other students. They were immediately infamous for their short but violent fight, and it was somewhat common to see Isaiah running past people away from Samuel after pushing him too far. After that the arguments and bad blood grew less frequent. Soon they could be seen talking civilly to each other, even arguing on each others side. Their real friendship has been reunited through athletics, training and playing together in the gym and on the pitch. Samuel quickly became a member of the American Football and Rugby team, his drive and dedication showing through rapidly.

Miscellaneous:
-Samuel is a very dedicated, almost obsessive, boxer who trains every day with no exceptions and has been relatively successful in joining the new circuit.
-Samuel is capable of reciting huge passages from the bible, word for word, and prays multiple times every day.
-Samuel is a member of the American Football and Rugby teams.
-He is a very amateur artist, sometimes trying to practice but having little time to focus on it or improve measurably.
-Generally completely unaware of others romantic intentions, he has frequently upset others by ignoring advances he hadn't noticed.
-He isn't particularly academically talented, just enough to scrape passes, although this isn't helped by his lack of studying.
-Studies uniformed services and intends to become a police officer, depending on how his budding boxing career turns out.

THEME SONG: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man

Writing Prompt 1

Samuel was up late the night before his major exam, a mandatory maths paper. But unlike the majority of his peers he wasn't cramming for the test or even skimming his books. He stood alone in a dimly lit gym, the room filled with silence until he started his training. With complete precision he pummeled the heavy bag, swinging his fists the same way he had hundreds of times before. His lack of an ability to memorise what he revised didn't show up here, his routine being performed as if by a machine. He never felt any pain striking the bags now, his knuckles hard and rough from years of this lifestyle. The bag swung violently as his impacts increased, beginning to throw his entire weight behind each punch. It was almost elegant, unusual for a man his size, but the speed with which he moved was shocking to witness. Not for a single second did his upcoming exam even enter his mind. As he worked he didn't even contemplate boxing, all he did was recite his own, private, prayers to himself.

He asked for forgiveness for his past misdeeds, for which he would never forgive himself. He asked for permission to fight in the rings, to compete. He gave thanks for the food and drink he consumed each day. His prayers almost felt endless, his entire life laid bare before his own private rules. For each infraction he made he would repent, removing his wrist wraps and gloves after his training was done and continuing until he was bruised and battered, a daily reminder of his failings. To anyone else it was clearly a very unhealthy habit, but it was one he hid completely from even close friends, knowing his methods wold be frowned upon.

The next day he sat at his desk in the exam hall and felt guilt when he saw the paper. Not for how he spent his time, but for the fact he wasn't intelligent enough to succeed despite dedicating his time in a way he felt was needed and right. Each question burnt into his brain, he scraped by page by page as the time ticked down. He had always paid attention when he was stuck in class, having no alternative and feeling it was disrespectful to ignore his teachers. And so, as always, he would just tick past the exam, sometimes doing as well as average, but never excelling. The time ran out and he put down his pencil, holding his head for a few minutes as the papers were collected to stave of the concentration induced headache he'd inflicted on himself. And soon he felt better, as soon as he could he hurried from his seat to head out of the small, enclosed space. Now he was free to be himself, get outside, it was time to ignore everything else and train again.

Okey dokey, welcome, Sun! So, I understand this is one character of a pair of twins...so I'll give preliminary critiques and comments on this character, then look at the other one when he's ready. :-)

He can withstand and absorb extreme amounts of kinetic force if he is hit, meaning he is borderline invulnerable to almost any blunt force impacts.

Are we to understand, then, that other forms of energy or force - electrical, heat, plasma, piercing, etc - affect him as per usual? Or does he have increased resilience to that, too?
Also, what is his Hard Limit on how much blunt force trauma he can take in this form? Like, could he brush off a careening 18-wheeler, or would that stun even him? Can he fall off of a 50-story building and be A-OK, or would that push him past his limits? Basically...if you were going to Brute Force him, what would it take to hurt him?

When he is struck by something with a great deal of energy and manages to contain it it will allow him to maintain this form for longer.

Eeeeh...unconvinced about this part. It basically means that the more you hit him, the tougher he gets, which might get a little OP at times. I would prefer it if hitting him hard reduced his batteries, or at least had no effect.

His primary way of expending this energy is to implant it into others. This will allow the energy to rush through their system, finding 'flaws' and issues and rapidly repairing them.

Does he have to consciously focus on the injury, or is it automatic? Can he only heal injuries he can see or knows about, or does he instantly get a mental image of their physical state?

The more damage he has to fix the more energy it requires him to expend, rapidly tiring him if a person is severely injured and eventually using up his energy.

Is there a ratio here? Basically, what's the worst injury he can fix in a single sitting, and how much energy would it take? Would it drain him completely to, for example, repair a shattered kneecap, or could he feasibly cure cancer with this ability, if he used up all of his reserves?

He grows stronger consistently the closer he gets to his twin, Isaiah, while far apart his power is at best a small glow capable of healing a minor cut or bruise. When close enough this extends to severe wounds and even being able to fix injuries such as broken limbs.

Interesting. So, if he's far enough away from his twin, his power wouldn't activate at all? Or is there ALWAYS a manifestation of his ability, but within a certain distance, the ability gets stronger?

When he is not coated in the absorbing energy

Addressed this above.

the primary way he gains energy is from direct sunlight. Once he has exhausted his ability he will have to wait sometimes a very long period to absorb the energy again. His only method of rapid restoration is to use things like a sunbed to be exposed to days worth of UV radiation very fast.

Pretending, for a moment, he's a battery...on a sunny day, how fast would you say he charges, and what's his maximum? Like...if he had - for example - 100 units of power as his max storage, how fast would he charge on a sunny day? 1 unit a second? 4 units an hour? What kind of rate are we talking about here?

They quickly became the stars of the American Football, Rugby and Football teams, their drive and dedication showing through rapidly.

You said above that he focused on boxing over all else, so how could he become the star player of three sporting teams, as well as presumably becoming the star member of the school boxing team?
Further, being the star player of three teams is a bit much. There are only so many hours in the day, so he has to prioritise some sports over others. Being a member of three or four sports teams is feasible, but I'm afraid you'll have to pick one sports team to be considered a "star" of. He can be good at the others, but excel in only one (including boxing.)

Also, avoid language like "The Star," since it instantly means that you're saying that he's ALWAYS MUCH better than everybody else, and it places importance on one position over the others when, realistically, most sports don't work like that.

Plus, Dante is one of the two go-to starting Flankers for the rugby team, so he would perhaps resent the implication that he's less important than another position. :P

Actually, on that note, what position does he play in each of his sports? Would you mind providing a list of every sport he plays, whether he's a Starter or a Substitute, and what position he plays, please? He can be a star player of one team in addition to his presumed status as "Top Boxer." :-)

-Samuel is a very dedicated, almost obsessive, boxer who trains every day with no exceptions and has been relatively successful in joining the new circuit.
-Samuel is a member or substitute of almost all sports teams, although his favourite is by far rugby followed by American football.

See above. If he obsessively trains in boxing every day, he wouldn't have the time or energy to be part of every sporting team. As well as boxing, maybe narrow it down to two or three. :P At the moment, he just seems a bit too...well, unrealistically sporty. Assuming that every sport has two training sessions a week, and one game, that's a total of six training sessions and three games a week (assuming you choose three sports), plus daily boxing training and boxing matches that he might be involved in. Can you see why being a member of every sporting team is a bit of a stretch? Plus, Rugby and American Football train VERY different muscles and skills to hockey, basketball and swimming. :P
So...yeah, to make it more believable, maybe limit it to boxing + two or three other sports. And besides boxing, make one of them consider him "A Top Player." Remember, you're pitching two characters, so if you want them to have different sports skills, you can. :P

-He is a surprisingly talented watercolour artist, painting almost exclusively nature in the form of animals and plants, he finds it relaxing.

Around his sports, when the hell does he find time to practice / learn painting to a high standard? :P

Also, I understand that your Writing Prompt was done in a hurry, so if you want to add more to it when you have time - or just do an extra, more "complete" Writing Prompt for Sam's twin brother - then feel free.

I look forward to seeing the second twin brother and hearing your thoughts on my feedback! :D

NAME: Isaiah Cain

AGE: 18

SEX: Male

Personality:  Isaiah is a party goer, an attention seeker and very much a jock. He enjoys being the object of other people's focus, sometimes to the point of irritating/upsetting people just to be noticed. He would never single out and bully a target maliciously, but he would make somewhat harsh/rude jokes at others expense, only with the intentions of making people laugh. He struggles to understand that a lot of other people are a lot more easily upset, as he became very resilient to any insulting/rudeness, brushing it off calmly.

APPEARANCE: Isaiah is 6'2" and 190lbs with a highly athletic, toned, build. He has a wide variety of tattoo's all over his body, mostly the results of his rebellious attitude. His eyes are just as dark as his brothers, showing almost no emotion. He is sometimes seen looking gaunt and tired after his hectic, rowdy parties.

ORIENTATION: Straight

RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single, player/no attachment

TYPE: Jock/Jackass

POWER THEME: Isaiah can convert his body into a living, moving shadow. When he is far away from his twin this is very limited, attempting to use his power will cause him to be completely unable to interact with any objects in the physical world. He will be able to return to his ordinary state either by deliberately exposing himself to sunlight/bright light to force himself to pass out, or travelling until he is within 1 mile of his twin or lastly simply waiting until he grows too exhausted to maintain it longer. He becomes incorporeal, almost impossible to hit with anything physical and capable of passing through objects/letting them pass through him. When he is near his twin he becomes able to 'use' his shadows to affect the world. Primarily via tentacle like limbs capable of extending roughly 7-8ft and lift around 100kg, at this weight he could move the target, shake it and with some strain throw it a short distance. He will have to be entirely corporeal to use his tendrils to interact with the physical world around him. In the future Use of his powers will sap weak nearby light sources, cause them to flicker, dim and eventually die out. He will only be capable of doing this to minor light sources, such as a light bulb or lamp, nothing brighter than a car headlamp. His powers are much more effective at night or in extreme darkness as well as while nearby to his twin. He is at his minimum power while at or further than 5 miles from his twin, and at his maximum strength while within 30 feet.

CHARACTER FLAW: Isaiah is almost completely powerless outdoors in the daylight, mere seconds of direct exposure will cause him to lose his shadow form and pass out immediately. He can shelter in shadows or behind glass, but this will still quickly drain the amount of time he can use his ability. He drains shadows from his own alternative form, in low/dim light he can function for up to half an hour, in pitch black he can maintain his shadowy form for upwards of an hour.  Isaiah can frequently unintentionally upset those he cares about and means to be nice to with his joking attitude, not being very good at telling when this is inappropriate. He has a hard time apologising when he does upset people, not really wanting to accept that his actions were wrong. This is only really his own form of denial, and he tends to resolve his deep seated issues with alcohol, women and sometimes drug abuse.

BIOGRAPHY: Isaiah grew up for his early childhood with his brother Samuel, experiencing the same biblical upbringing and rough treatment for the first eight years of his life. It was at this age that he ran away from home, eventually managing to get himself adopted and living far apart from his father. His adoptive parents were kind and accepting, but had a hard time dealing with the troubled child they wanted to help. As he grew up he quickly turned to alcohol in his early teens, drinking in secret while alone. As he grew up his habits expanded to include occasional drug use and carelessly sleeping with strangers. As soon as he was old enough he got heavy tattoo's over his body and started spending almost his entire life out/away from his adoptive parents.

He was as surprised as his brother was when he met him after ten years apart. He had held a grudge for years as he felt his twin chose his father over him. He taunted him and started an argument willingly, knowing full well what would happen. He was a little shocked at the strength of his brother, but he recovered quickly from the incident. As they interacted more he began to accept that his brother had only done what he felt he had to all those years ago. His grudge put aside he became loyal to his brother, enjoying substituting in the Rugby team and playing alongside him sometimes. He was grateful when his brother would defend him from people he'd frustrate with his teasing, slightly taunting personality.

Miscellaneous:
-Extremely talented short distance sprinter, capable of running 100m in 10.82 seconds and setting similarly impressive times in most other sprint events. His life goal and main aim is to make it as an athlete.
-Makes use of his sprinting skills as a striker on the football team.
-Borderline alcoholic, occasional drug user and general party lover.
-He is average at best academically, mostly maintaining his place at the school through athletic talent.
-Surprisingly quick witted, tricking others and playing practical jokes.

Writing prompt 3

Isaiah's Party

Isaiah sat on his couch lazily as he waited for his guests to arrive. A bottle of his favourite spiced rum in one hand and a confident, eager smile on his face. He always looked forward to the chaos of his parties, inviting as many people as he could cram into his apartment and spending as much as possible on drinks. His impatience got the better of him as he waited, cracking open his bottle and sipping it slowly by himself. Soon the minutes ticked down and he heard his doorbell ring. He answered it quickly, a wide grin with a slight smirk to it on his face as he loudly welcomed the first crowd of friends. He spread his arms wide, hugging as many people as he could while they crossed the threshold.

He was always in people's faces, getting to know them, wanting them to feel like he was the life of the party. As soon as the group were inside he was quickly and smoothly lining up shot glasses on the counter. Introductions were barely done when he was handing out drinks, insisting each of his guests take a 'celebration' shot for getting there first. He wasted no time pointing out where the drinks were, getting everyone sat down and picking up the remote for his entertainment system. He was proud of it, even though he'd had to ask a couple of kids who were better with tech to fix it up for him. With a few quick presses the lights dimmed to a low level, a few bright coloured bulbs flashing across the room. The lighting was joined almost immediately by loud, thumping music that flooded through the house from the bass heavy speakers. He reveled in how fast the environment was coming together, the guests grabbing drinks and relaxing, some already dancing to the music.

It was almost like he was trying to transform his average sized lounge into a night club, replicating as much of the typical loud, obnoxious scene as possible. The more guests flooded in the more chaotic it got, but Isaiah only reveled in it. Soon drinks were flowing rapidly, the hectic atmosphere letting his friends lose themselves. He didn't care what was spilled on his floors, right now he was focused on talking to every person he could find. He loved to meet people, and whatever they thought of him he'd always say he liked them.

He was at once a part of the conversations of half the room, flitting from group to group. Admittedly he'd mostly interrupt their conversations, cracking his typical slightly crude jokes but getting a few cheap laughs before moving on. Soon enough he was happy enough to relax a little, content that the night would be a success. He retired to talking to a few of his track and field friends, lounging happily on his comfortable sofa while sipping his drink straight from the bottle. He was at home, here, surrounded by loud noise and bright lights. It was about the only place outside of a track that he really felt that way.

Samel:

Okey dokey! Just one more small detail to iron out, and I won't have any more questions.

Samuel is a religious man, dedicated to his obsession with his perceived 'will of God'. He will confront, often aggressively, anything he feels goes against the law of order. He will follow his own version of the commandments and rules of the bible to the letter, and no amount of persuasive ability could sway his complete single mindedness [...] He will rarely deal with any atheists, and struggles to interact with those of other religions, feeling disturbed that they don't understand that his beliefs are 'correct'. He has been known to fight those who insult the bible,

As was pointed out to me by a current player, this....could cause serious issues in the RP, both in terms of other peoples reactions to Samuel and his own ease of involvement in the game.

See, being religious is fine. Being heavily religious is, again, fine - See: Arek - but flaring up whenever somebody voices an opinion different to him, refusing to deal with a certain subset of people [Atheists] and outright getting into fights over his beliefs with people who disagree? That is going to cause a lot of tension and drama - and not necessarily the good kind - and make it extremely unlikely that many people will want anything to do with him. There's a difference between being heavily religious and an outright zealot, after all, and if he starts fights with people who disagree with him...well, it's small-time, but isn't that basically the definition of terrorism? Does this aspect of his personality have to be so....extremist? These people exist, duh, but from the perspective of getting involved in the game, I know that at least half of the cast would want nothing to do with him. And if he was starting fights over his religion and it was a regular thing, well...he would have been expelled by now. So really, I do think that this aspect of his personality needs to be dialled back, for your own enjoyment as much as anything else.

Isaiah:

His eyes are just as dark as his brothers, showing almost no emotion.

If he's a party animal and a joker, how does this reconcile?

Isaiah can convert his body into a living, moving shadow. When he is far away from his twin this is very limited, causing him to be completely unable to interact with any objects in the physical world. He becomes incorporeal, almost impossible to hit with anything physical and capable of passing through objects/letting them pass through him.

Ok, so, when he's away from his brother, does he automatically become incorporeal, or does he only become "trapped" in that state if he tries to use his power? The wording here is a touch vague.

When he is near his twin he becomes able to 'use' his shadows to affect the world. Primarily via tentacle like limbs which he can use to lash and strike a target of his aggression.

What are the range of his tendrils, and how strong are they? Does it take concentration to make them corporeal? Is he incorporeal while this happens, or is he fully solid?

He is also capable of heavily manipulating the light levels of a room, absorbing light sources to gain more energy.

If he's harmed by light, why would absorbing light give him more energy? Seems a touch disconnected from the rest of his power, and largely unnecessary considering his power doesn't run on "batteries." At least, so far as I can tell.

Miscellaneous:
-Extremely talented short distance sprinter, capable of running 100m in under 10.4 seconds and setting similarly impressive times in most other running events. He can run long distance, but his real talent is sprints.

WAY too fast. I mean, SERIOUSLY way too fast. Consider this: The mens world record for the 100m sprint is currently held by Usain Bolt, and is 9.58 seconds. The womens world record is 10.49 seconds. If he could run that fast, he would already be competing in the Olympics.

-Severely lacking at most academic skills, spends no time whatsoever revising.

If he was shockingly bad at academics, he would never have gotten in. I would suggest making him a C-student, to at least make him being at MWH believable.

-Surprisingly quick witted, tricking others and playing practical jokes.

Just be aware that if you want to trick another character, clear it with the player first. ;)

Samuel:

It was more of an idea of a character, not ever created them with a group game in mind before. I can understand how he'd need to be altered and I think I'll have to retcon him to being more personal and private about the strong beliefs he holds. He will be toned down and less extremist. Perhaps if pushed hard he could become irate and argumentative but not to the level I initially thought of. Should still function fine. And the vast majority of his fight starting and rough attitude was in his past in his old town, he's adjusted and changed since reuniting with his twin and meeting more varied people.

Isaiah:

-Somewhat a by product of being twins, but real people can be stuck with eyes that don't fit their personality. He just has slightly small, dark eyes that don't convey his emotions very well. I'm first to admit that was mostly a by product of the face used for his twin.

-When he's far away from his brother he's capable of functioning as a normal human. If he attempts to use his power he will be stuck in his incorporeal state, unable to interact with anything until he returns to being an ordinary human. I see the vague wording now, that will be fixed.

-Initially his tendrils will be roughly 25ft long, capable of lifting approximately 150kg and manipulating it with some strain, throwing it would take heavy focus but is doable. He will have to be corporeal to use them to interact with anything. So long as that seems reasonable.

-Poor wording, will be fixed. It's less him absorbing light and more the amount of shadows around him spreading throughout the room and dulling/shutting out lights, making him more powerful as the room therefore darkens.

-Not actually that drastically too fast. Probably about 10.8 is reasonable. From what I've read highschool track and field runners are in the 10.7-11.5 range with state contenders being sub 11 seconds. Considering that this is his life/career future a sub 11 second time isn't remotely unreasonable, it's virtually required to be able to compete seriously considering that he's already 18 and sprinter prime is only 21. From looking into state qualifiers 11.26 is bare minimum as a male of his age. Happy to change it to somewhere in the high 10.X range, fits with what I know about the area.

-I'll alter him to being average but poor at revising, but academically lacking students can get into a good school on athletic merit if the school has a reasonable sized focus on that side of things, as far as I understand it anyway. Not American, so always hard to really judge what would work. Anyway, him being average is fine.

-Totally makes sense and not an issue.

Samael:

That's fine :-) As I say, being heavily religious is absolutely fine, it's more about the volatility of his reactions that kinda worried me. So long as he can function around people who don't necessarily agree with him, he should be fine. ;)

Isaiah:

- Fair enough! The way it was worded suggested to me that it was something to do with him, personally. XD

- Right-ho! And how would he return to a corporeal state in that situation?

- Hmm....this is a Day One game, so I would expect him to start off relatively weak and grow in strength, so maybe have his tendrils start off at....let's say double-arms-length - so roughly six or seven feet - and grow in length and strength from there as he gets more practice and gets stronger. :-) Also, how many tendrils is he able to manifest at once? Does he start with two, and that grows in number as he gets stronger / more experienced?

- Ah, I see. That makes more sense. In which case, I would suggest that that would be reserved for when he's more experienced with his powers and able to manifest his Shadow Manipulation as more than just tendrils. He can't start off with all his abilities, after all, he has to have some routes to develop! :P

- Well, I meant "way too fast" in context...in running, .5 of a second is considered a wide gap, so I was talking relatively speaking. :P As it is, 10.8 / 9 is perfectly fine, but 10.4 puts him at Olympic Level at the age of 18...which is uncommon, to say the least. :P

- Well, MWH is a pretty prestigious school, so they're a lot less lenient on their grades than some other areas :P But yeah, making him a C-Student and then his sporting activities securing him a place is ok :-)

Samuel-
I think that's all adjusted to be more reasonable and easy to deal with, I think now he'd be more reasonable and capable of interacting normally.

Isaiah

- Not sure how he'd return to corporeal, I suppose since he'd have to put himself in the situation just 'at will' if that's acceptable. I think they'd both require a lot of focus to transform and suffer some minor pain/strange/unnatural feelings as it would be so alien to them. But they wouldn't be massively restricted aside from the issues of shadow/light around them.

-Wasn't sure what level of power was right for that power in particular, I suppose it makes sense considering his incorporeal side too, will adjust.

-I'll leave that in but he wont be capable of using it early on, I suppose.

-Agreed and adjusted.

-Also agreed and adjusted.

Isaiah:

- Corporeal / incorporeal distance flaw:

Well, we'll have to hammer out exactly how he gets back to being corporeal. Perhaps if he's knocked unconscious - perhaps by exposure to sunlight - he returns to his normal state? Or, obviously, if he manages to get within a certain distance of his brother.

Further to that...what kind of range are we talking on their mutually dependent abilities? How far away would be considered "Minimum Power Level," and how close would they have to be - at a maximum range - to use their "Full" abilities?

- Shadow Spreading:
Just add in that "In the future, he will be able to..." as a qualifier. :-)

Isaiah
-That does make sense to me, so, the way he'd return is either deliberately exposing himself to sunlight or bright lights to force his power to run out, simply waiting until it ran out anyway as I put him at never able to maintain it longer than an hour, or by getting close enough to Samuel, maybe within 1 mile.

-I would say their 'minimum' power level could probably be about.. 5 miles? it's a distance either of them could travel fairly fast on foot, without being too fast, so it makes sense game wise to me. And I'd say absolute 'full' blast abilities would be 'in the same room' maybe about 30ft apart or so.

-Will do on shadow spreading.

-Adding Isaiah's writing prompt.

- That's fair enough. Or accidentally exposing himself :P

- Hmmm....good enough, for the time being!

So...I think that should be it from me, so give me a chance to get some sleep, then I'll look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow and see if I've missed anything. If not...I don't see any issues with them! :D

I actually made that joke in my own head when I was writing the exposing line, odd.

And good, I think? Should improve, I tend to thrive when I have others writing to bounce off and get a little more into the rhythm of the character's. Plus I'm a little out of practice. Enough excuses, though.

Glad to hear it, look forward to getting things going. Thanks.

No problem at all! I should have a decision for you by tomorrow evening :-)

Ok, so, the characters have been approved! Please send me the Code to your characters bios using the [ code] BBcode, then hop into the OOC Character Discussion Thread (if you can't find it, ask me and I can link it for you), say hello to everybody and get working on those Yearbooks! :D

Have room for another guy?

Online Vergil TannerTopic starter

Well, that depends on the kind of character you pitch, but I don't see why not! :D

Right now I'm thinking a duplicator who has the ability to selectively ignore his clone's physical presence, so he could "phase" through his clones at will. This would be balanced by being able to make fewer clones. I'm thinking a max of three clones at the beginning.

Huh...well, already I have questions, but whip up a bio and we'll see what you come up with!

Grace is already whispering in my ear all sorts of things she could do with a Cloner.

::) Don't you think she has enough lovers in this game? :P Save some for the others!

^^ Let Grace rest, Vergil. Let her sleep and live her life. How can she do cartwheels if she has a constant limp...?

Maybe Grace's goalie-ing the dudes to keep Allyk off them. Twin shadiness.

Ok, writing everything up is taking longer than I thought, but I'll have everything up soon.

Also, he'd be a cloner. More than enough for multiple people.

Grace doesn't need rest! She survives by feeding off of the sexual energies of others! She's secretly a Succubus, you see. :P

And no problem, dude do it when you can!
