I don't know what category Oldboy's hallway fight could go under, but it's badass regardless.

O/O and ideas - write if you'd be a good Annatar/Sauron, Aaron Warner (Juliette) [Shatter me], Wilkins (Faith) [Buffy the VS]

Your life isn't complete if you haven't witnessed this fight scene, let alone this bizarre but awesome movie. One of Bradley Cooper's earlier roles, he and Vinny Jones duke it out in one of the craziest venues ever. Also note the amazing 360-degree shot around a moving train car during the fight, I've not seen its like anywhere else. I couldn't find the entire fight, so just start watching at 1 hour and 38 minutes and just wait til someone dies.

Another one from the same director as Midnight Meat Train, one of his earlier films from 2000, called Versus. The whole movie rocks, but this final battle is off the fucking chain. They even did the bullets-hitting-each-other thing before Wanted. Plus the music is just bonkers.

Thugs like to think they are tough, but they fall like cards before a man who has been to hell and back in the great war.

Everyone here, this is an absolute must-see movie, and this scene is probably not even the best, but it should give you some indication of how awesome the rest of the stuff in the movie is.

Pretty much any fight from The One could work here, but here's the final fight.

How about Breeane of Tarth vs. Jaime Lannister on the bridge? Or the Viper vs the Mountain?

This One

For best Gun Fu you have to go with the original. Their explanations for how it worked were stupid, but it's still some good cinema.

Someone else already posted my other recommendations from the Raid.

I'm not sure if it has been posted, but Punisher vs Daredevil, Jaime Lannister / The Hound vs Bre of Tarth, and any of the John Wick fight scenes.

Also this has to be mentioned, because well it just has to.

Y'know rewatching made this made me realise two things.

1) Whoever was the costume designer blatantly had a thing for latex.

2) The 90's cheese is laid on thick here but... it kinda works, like it's not too satisfying, the bullets don't have a satisfying connection to bodies they hit, and there's little to blood but that's ok, the thing that the shots drawing your eye to is the destruction of the pillars and the bullets landing on the ground, really pointing out just how much shit is getting thrown from both sides.

I think any fight scene from the Ip Man Trilogy should go into these categories. I chose this one from the first movie purely because it is one of my favourites. Second being from the second movie, Ip Man against the grand masters to prove himself.
Responses will be slow up until this coming Monday. Away from it all, and wont be using the internet as much. Get back to you soon.

It would be nice to know those I've written with are okay.

Lustful Bride

This has got to be one of my Favorite Mano a Mano fights ever. (aside from the one from Soldier with Kurt Russle)

Byron Williams vs the Martian leader in Mars Attacks.

Why didn't they just use their skeletonizing guns on him?

I'd like to nominate the two batshit crazy bar fights in From Dusk Til Dawn.

Not sure how to do the video linking. Have a few battles that were pretty awesome.

  • Deadpool vs Ajax
  • Battle of Helm's Deep from Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
  • King Theoden leading the warriors of Rohan into battle in Lord of the Ring: Return of the King
  • Arnold's character in Predator vs. the Predator
  • Dominic Torretto vs. Deckard Shaw in Fast and Furious 7
  • Jet Li vs Jackie Chan in Forgotten Kingdom
  • The treetop sword fight from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
  • Pretty much the whole Haywire movie
  • Sylar vs Everyone at the end of Heroes Season 1
  • Mystique vs Stryker's men in X2
  • Mystique vs Wolverine in X-men

Old Boy's scenes were definitely the most choreographed/dynamic, but I really loved Sympathy for Lady Vengeance's "fight" scene.
