.PNG images on Elliquiy?

Hello!

I have been trying to make a banner (in the shape of a circle) with a transparent background (you know, so it isn't showing up as a square with my circle in the center, but every time I upload it and test it here on Elliquiy it gives it a white background, even on the other themes. Does anyone know if there is a size limit to .pngs, or if they just don't work at all?

Here is the image I am trying to upload with a transparent background. It is a .PNG (it is kind of big right now, but I was going to need it re-sized to something smaller):

Pngs should work fine with transparency. Technically the maximum size you're supposed to have for images on your signature 100 x 500px (or so I've heard) which may be comprised of 5 images. Image size doesn't seem to be taken into consideration as much as image number (it won't let you add more than 5), but if you have too much in your signature, it will show a scroll bar to scroll down.

You could try posting the image in a regular thread or using the preview function to see how it looks before adding it to your signature. The image you're linking to is showing a white background, not transparency.

the file extension looks like that of a png, but the file is in fact this:

Dashou_Dream1.png.jpg
and it's in jpg format. Jpg doesn't support transparency.

Like on the program I made it on, Paint Tool Sai, has it with a transparent background, but like the link above, whenever I try to upload it it puts it with a white background. I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong in terms of saving/uploading.

Does it have the option to set not just the file name but the file type when you save a file?

Yeah, it gives me multiple options:

.psd
.jpg
.sai
.png
.tga
and .bmp.

You're selecting png?

If it doesn't work, you could save it as a PSD, upload it, and I can save it at my end as a PNG and post it up for you.

It should be working though.

I resized it to fit as an avatar, and made the outside of the circle transparent.  Hope that helps.  I can also resize it for you to something smaller if you let me know what the height or width you want is.

I also was thinking of putting a bigger version on my blog I was going to post up here, Maybe something like 3-4x bigger, but not entirely sure the exact size/what would look good.
