Vote full democrat in the 2018 midterms would limit trump's power, but doubt that will happen.

Sorry to say there is very little to do about the president. Even if trump were succesfully convicted for sex offence, Mike Pence is just as bad.

Well, if Brexit is any guide, then the Democratic party will probably undergo a revolution and be pushed even further to the left (As Corbyn did under the Labour Party). Much further to the left I should say.

And remember that Obama 8 years ago started with a super-majority too, so not all is lost. But... there will certainly need to be a long discussion over what to do.

We will just have to sit back and see what the future brings. I'm glad that I am not living in the USA right now, and thanks to this I likely never will. Trust is easy to loose and hard to gain, and a voting majority have just proven to me that they cannot be trusted.

This is a victory for all that's wrong. At least, that is the case in my opinion.

I sincerely hope that whatever pain that may come from this will eventually be that which paves the way for a true revolution. For the time being, all I can do is hope for you all to stay safe. :(

Also, go and vote for local officials, state governor, state legislatures, and all those other elected offices whenever you can. A lot of legislation happens on the state level. While a lot of state legislatures are more and more drifting towards partisan plicies formulated by lobby groups in Washington (and elsewhere), local elections are still darn important.

Yes the majority of the people that voted trump in aren't bad people per se. But the same is true for most people that voted in hitler or mussolini.

I do not hate anyone. I refuse to hate. I am deeply saddened, feel utterly ill at what I am seeing, and terrified of what is to come, but I do not hate. The logical part of my brain is reminding me that there are checks and balances in place - that Trump can't just walk in and do whatever he wants as he has been claiming - but it is HIS hate, his rhetoric, his racist bullying - that can make this country a very bad place for my daughter to live.

As a mother it is unimaginably painful to have to watch your child cry because she is a lesbian and she is bullied for it. Now we have this manchild bully a breath away from our highest office and he has encouraged this kind of hate. Has built his whole campaign on it. I am beyond scared of what he has unleashed.
