Before I begin describing the context of the game, I am going to start off with the rules. These are something I see more important; and keep in mind you are to also abide to the Site’s Rules

The year is 2257, society and laws of today are by far different than they have been in the past of centuries ago. Poverty is a growing issue, debt as well for many individuals across the world. A new world decree has been made as a solution to most of these problems and that is the price of a human life. A simple means to an end, but this is not always necessary about killing, no. In most cases, death itself may be the easiest of escapes, but instead, the majority of cost complies to one’s actual freedom; and when they fall rock bottom, all rights are fully stripped away from them, making them something less than human, something equivalent to that of meager property.
Of course, the betting of one’s own life is always a temptation, even for that of the poor. Given one’s finical status, those with little upbringing can accumulate a hundred thousand dollars upon their life. Middle class citizens usually strive around five hundred thousand. Upper class and beyond can range from the millions and above. It all depends on one’s status, which merits their worth. Therefore, even a millionaire can make a gamble if they are going bankrupt, though the fate for them like all others is how the dice or cards play out and if they lose, they lose it all.
Where are all these transactions overseen within the world? One single place, a manmade island dubbed the ‘Gambler’s Paradise.’ A fine resort holding plenty of hotels, attractions, and of course the casino where anyone can come out a big time winner in paying off all their debts or find themselves forever a slave with all rights stripped away from them; that is, if they are playing high stakes. The island is recognized and protected as a neutral territory by all countries. It has its own armed militia to also safeguard and enforce the rules when others may try to snake their way out of paying what is due.
Should one fall into a life of slavery, they are given a special collar around their necks and then may find themselves bid for if it was an open table. Private tables, winner may take all, including any individual for property if they choose to risk it all. The collar cannot be remove and has a microchip bomb implanted in it to serve as a harsh sentence should one attempt to tamper with it. Naturally, it can not be self destructed by any other means beyond basic tampering with.
Beyond the darker aspects of the island, there are still plenty of well establish places for one to visit. Gambling is not a must, though this is still a place for the wealthy or for those fortunate enough to work on the island. Prostitution is perfectly legal on the island, although one must also have a license to do such business in or outside of the known Brothels. There are also holding cells for those that have lost everything, but such is often kept away in a warehouse to not trouble the visitors and regulars of the island. A large section of tropical forest is waiting to be ventured along with rivers and waterfalls that can be found; although, some of the wildlife is wild and may be dangerous for other thrill seekers.
This is an open sandbox game for just about anyone, there is no worldly in game plot beyond whatever players may collaborate with one another. Characters will all be human and represented by realistic individuals, no artwork or anime or drawings or have at you. Content is opened as well to those of consenting players and any extreme content will be red
warning label in post tags. There will be slavery elements of the game, though, I do not know if this really entails it to be fully a 'slave,' game as it is one minor focus point. Gambling? Right now, I am debating how to handle that. Whether to make some form of lite-system involving it or leave it fully up to the players that may seek to RP such out. Honestly, I like to avoid as much heavy handed GM involvement as possible with this project as again, it is a sandbox. Now, long as players are mindful and don't go around destroying things, blowing things up, in said sandbox, then we won't have any problems. As a GM, I will exercise extreme authority IC on anyone that may go out of their way. In hindsight, don't crap in my litterbox and we are all good.
