The War Rages On!

Brave men and women of the Mobile Infantry and Fleet fought yet again on the edge of the Arachnid Quarantine Zone (AQZ). The bugs thought they would have us off guard again, but we were ready and the Arachnid Empire has failed in its push forth this time!

20 years after the second Bug War, the Arachnid Quarantine zone has expanded in the constant on and off fighting between our Federation and the relentless Arachnid Empire. Despite the brave sacrifices of Fleet and MI forces, the bugs endless attempts at pushing into Federation Space have led to the loss of much life. And while the bug menace has been held back for now, just how long will it be till they charge at us again? Will the Fleet be able to hold them off? Will the Mobile Infantry be able to squash every eggfall? Only time will tell, but fear not loyal citizens and civilians! Federal Science and Military heads are leading the way to a better tomorrow!

In other news this week, the Terran First Expeditionary force, the first to have been made in almost 50 years since our first contact with the Arachnid Empire, has nearly finished its final preparations before launch. This force of the best and brightest in our race will be traveling out into space, seeking out the edges of the Arachnid Quarantine Zone and discovering lovely new worlds, ripe for colonization and feeding our people, and who knows? We may even find new allies out there in the stars to defeat the Bug menace once and for all.

The Argo is a newly christened ship, it will be taking the brave heroes of the FEF first to check up on several research stations at the edge of Federation Space and then venture off into the unknown. It is equipped with the latest and most Advanced Cherenkov drives, nearly capable of breaking the 4 parsec limit of normal Federation ships, giving it a much wider range of movement than most of our fleet.

We wish these brave pilots, soldiers, and scientists the best of luck, and god speed, as they take a risk to boldly go where no man has gone before.

For The Everlasting Glory of the Federation!

This idea is basically Starship Troopers with an exploration aspect added to it. One ship heading out on an exploratory mission to  discover new worlds, (possibly new Races and technology) as well as to find any worlds where the Arachnids are attempting to build nests and destroy them to keep the bugs from establishing stronger supply lines/spreading out of the AQZ where we have managed to keep their Empire....for now.

The Expeditionary force will also be outfitted with new weapons and technology to help them on this mission of theirs.

Could use both a GM and players for this, as well as ideas on what the Troopers will discover while out in uncharted space.

Also for Anyone who wants to be a GM (I wouldn't mind being Co GM, id actually prefer it to be honest) this is a very good thread which gives info on the old SST Tabletop/RPG books from the early 2000s. Both useful and interesting to read.
