I really like the idea of MOBA games; they let me play something I really love, a support character or glass cannon in an RPG battleground, without having to dedicate all of my free time to grinding levels or gear just to stay current. It's great fun, pop in a few hours a week, heal a group, get points, have fun. It's the whole reason I enjoyed League of Legends, until I hit summoner level 15 or so. Once I started getting cursed out before a match began based on my preference for support characters, I quickly decided it was time to move on.

I'd gotten my Heroes invite a while back, but only just recently decided to give it a chance. I was expecting the usual F2P MOBA experience and to be tired of it quick enough once I played a few rounds. That's the problem though; I'm not.

I'm absolutely in love with this game. It feels like it was designed specifically to deal with the problems I had with League; with experience being the only resource and the entire team leveling as a unit, infighting among teams over stealing kills and leaving mobs for other players was quickly replaced with frequent celebration over good teamwork. Players here care way less about killing blows and feeding, and way more about enjoying the game and working together. The talents allow you to keep the customization without having to worry about people's critiques of your build as much. I'm fact, overall, I've seen a low more unique builds among the same character than I ever did in league, since some builds even tweak core abilities and cool downs. Then there's the community. Thanks in part to the game's stronger emphasis on teamwork over individual performance, and the fact that LoL's community is pretty famous for what it is, the difference is night and day. The game is still in beta, so a lot of the players as of now are hardcore blizzard fans, the most offensive thing I've heard thus far is a painfully outdated "Leroy Jenkins!" joke.

Speaking of Blizz, the game is packed with fun nostalgia from Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and to my surprise, even the Lost Vikings made it in! There's something fun and exciting about hearing that old "Nuclear Launch Detected." Mid match.

Overall, I think I'm hooked. I'll need to start fresh with my actual battle.net account now, but I think I'm going to stick with this longer than I expected. Anyone else give it a try yet, or thinking if doing the same?

If you like supports, go for the holy three currently:
Brightwing (no active heals, but passive healing, CC, and the ability to be -everywhere-)
Uther (Tanky, tons of heals, stuns, healing after you die, a resurrection talent)
Rehgar (Damage, mobility, since you can turn into your own mount at any point you want, light CC, a massive heal ulti, a damage shield, and later able to onevsone enemies).

Personally I love playing Brightwing.
Being able to be -everywhere- with a 45 sec cooldown is amazing.

I just started playing this about a week ago too.  Lockepick got me into it, and I play some matches with him pretty regularly now.  I enjoy playing supports, assassins, or mages.  I haven't run into much of the same problems as LoL, much the same as RPGuy, and I love the teamwork aspect.  I also love that in each scenario, the theme does have an impact on if your team wins, BUT through some teamwork and coordination, you can come back from a seemingly losing game by choosing the right times to focus on the match theme mechanic and the right times to push lanes and take towers/forts.

My favorite support so far has to be Li Li.  Specing her into Jug of 1,000,000 cups is amazing in a team fight.
I have enjoyed Zagara as a specialist though I began to experiment with Azmodan last night and find he's quickly catching up with her.
I haven't tried many assassins but Falstad seems pretty cool.  He has such a high attack speed which couples really well with the talent that lowers his cooldowns with each basic attack, AND much like Brightwing, he can be just about anywhere on the battle field when he needs to be because of his Flight ability.

Lili is a great pubstomper (i.e. unorganized groups), but as soon as you will start playing with people who have some experience, they will wait for you to pop the Jugs, and then stun you, effectively taking your ultimate ability away from you before it can do any real good, and putting it back on a 50 or so second CD, so be careful.

Zagara is extremely good right now.
She can take lanes fast, push hard with that, has an ulti take can take 1-5 enemies off the map for a few seconds and do damage, and her D allows her to have map-vision on a lot of spots.

Azmodan can push, too, but he lacks the teamfight abilities. Unfortunately he doesn't really do a lot of damage in those, which just makes him a big blob of health (even if he is a ton of fun. Got him to level 9).

Currently Zagara is pretty much everything Azmodan is, just better. I'm crossing fingers he'll get a rework soon.
He's too cool looking not to.

I haven't tried brightwing yet, I've only just started and trying not to drop any leisure cash until I get my summer bills paid first, but they're on my list to try, considering how much time I spent in WoW at one point trying to get myself a fairy dragon pet.

I'm seriously in love with Malfurion; he was cool in the WC series and he's still awesome here. It's like someone took my two favorite LoL champions (Lux and Sona) and mashed what I liked about them together. That moon fire snare has already set up so many kills for my LPs, and after you take a few passive a, he's a healing god.

Not if you're aware of what you're doing.  Having played LoL since alpha, I know when to save my cooldowns and when to pop them.  It's only a matter of knowing what your enemy has and staying out of their reach.  If they can't reach me, they can't stun me.
