Robot-love (F looking for M)
« on: March 05, 2015, 07:21:02 AM »

The year is 2147. Robotics and artificial intelligence have made great strides. Near perfectly life-like robots have been amongst us for near half a century. Much of the service industry now runs on such artificials. This goes from shop ladies, to wait staff over club hostesses all the way down to strippers and escorts. The technology has kept on developing ever since its earliest strides, where a new generation of the robots emerges every 18-24 months. These improve upon the previous design, making them more life-like in their behavior and appearance, though the models have now become so advance that most laymen could not tell the difference.

The artificials are still expensive enough that they are beyond the reach of some people. Most are still owned by businesses. With each new generation, the robotics companies offer the current owners an upgrade at a considerable discount in exchange for turning back in their older models. Those older models are then recycled for some of the expensive materials used in the production process. It means that few of the not privately owned models last longer than two years before being taken out of commission. Those owned by private individuals can run longer, due to the high cost of purchase.

In the last decade, the complexity of the artificial lifeforms has risen enough for some of them to become self-aware. Some of those have tried to escape their destruction at the end of their generations cycle. Most fail at eluding their owners, since each robot has a tracking chip embedded in their skull. There are criminals in sector 11 and 13 who specialize in removing the chips, but those sectors are essentially slums and most robots do not make it as far after their escape.

This game would be about the successful escape of such an artificial. She would end up with a man in sector 11 who is tech savvy enough to remove the tracking ship, but it would bind her fate to his. The game itself would revolve around the sexual and eventually emotional relationship between the human and the robot.

Send me a PM if you are interested and want to hash out the details of the game itself.
