Though they came from different places different walks of life had different journey's experiences, were seemingly as different as the next person. Whatever they were before, whoever they were before, they were there now. All of them laying their heads to go to sleep, some in warm comfortable homes, some traveling abroad, even a few in cold prison cells. All of them closed their eyes and when next they opened them, they found themselves somewhere else. Cold stone walls greeted them, they were on a bed. The rooms were sometimes large, and sometimes small. Sometimes they connected to a entire home, sometimes the home was just the room, with a kitchen for use to their right. As they pushed themselves further and walked from the house the very first sight they would find themselves greeted by a community of people just as confused as they were. People who suddenly vanished from their world, and found themselves in this new place. Some had been there for a short time before, but all were new, and none had answers.
Some of the people were young, in high school, just out of High School, some were older, graying hair, years of experience between them. Some came with entire families, and others had seemingly left their families behind. Whatever was responsible it seemingly plucked individuals at random altogether. No one knew how or why they had appeared in this place, but as they each individual spent their first night there and gazed up at the Two Moon Sky it was clear that wherever they were, it wasn't Earth.
Now all of them stranded, some still appearing in the first few weeks, filling in the homes inside the walls of the city. There were no messages or clues as to what they were there to do, as time passed no being came to greet them. There was no way of knowing if they could go home, and if they could how long it would be before they could. Whether out of desire, or necessity this new community began to band together. If they ever wanted to return home they would have to survive, and if they were going to survive most agreed they would need to work together. What else could they do?
The ConceptThe GM's of this game will be myself (Untamed_Skies), Vampire Mistress Sakura, and Kargisaka.
This game's initial idea is pretty simple, it'll be centered on the humans trying to survive in this new
High Fantasy world. Players will take on various roles within the community, be it exploring, doctor, scientist, developing, guard, etc, all trying to improve their own quality of life as well as try to understand how and where they are. This game will be primarily free form, with a few systems designed by the GM's that will control how quickly the city itself advances. This will include the technology within the city, how quickly the borders expand, the type of foods and capturing available, and how magic itself develops with the humans.
As the borders grow and stretch, eventually contact will be made with other Civilizations, which will also have their own story lines and growing conflicts. As is the case with the city of
Enasera. Players will be given the ability to create characters of that race that live within that city, and have a direct cause and effect over the fate of such civilizations. At the same time their relationship and conflicts with the Humans of Eden will also come into effect and play as well. The full idea is to create a world bit by bit, each in flow and effect at the same time, and allow the humans to effect the world. Who they side with, the enemies they make, and ultimately the reactions of the characters within the new world will shape exactly how Eveoria shapes up in the end. A new race is a new beginning and we're always welcoming new people into the game that are interested in any part, or all parts.
This game will be using a sandbox style format, we'll advance one month at a time. Players are free to create scenes at any point in time within the month the game is currently taking place. There will be a tagging system to ensure everything is kept track of where and when scenes are taking place.
Specifically within the city there is no direct form of leadership. Instead talented individuals who simply shine a bit brighter have pushed ideas and policies. These talented individuals will directly make up of the players themselves. When a important decision needs to be made, player characters will be called to plan and make a decision on how they should proceed. Whether to turn hostile to the world around them, or to try and make peace with the surrounding area. Whether to focus on defense, or to focus on agriculture. The players themselves will be the leaders and the game will be tailored to their choices and their reactions to the world around them. At the start of each month we'll either hold a poll in the IC OOC about options available to mediate on, the option that gets the most vote will be the policy adopted and we'll adapt the in game month to reflect that.
To start the plan is to restrict player characters to humans. Though as the world is explored and other races reveal themselves, we plan to let players have the option to create discovered creatures. So for example, a scouting party discovers a village of Elves, once that event has taken place from that point forward, elves will be a race available to create. If players have an idea for a specific creature and race we invite them to PM us and discuss it, and we'll add it to the mythos of the world to be discovered.
What's happened so farThe Prelude
As the first couple of weeks passed by roles were developed within the community. The first objectives were to move to the immediate vicinity and gather as much foods as could be found. The area was filled with vegetation, many fruits and berries that were plucked. Though the animals differed from the ones on earth slightly, many forms of that resembled, elk and deer, rabbits and other small mammals were brimming ripe for hunting. Those they knew how to hunt were immediately tasked with taking up the role. When they weren't hunting others took up the role with the expectation of training others. There were doctors and other people who could treat injuries who took those roles up just as easily. All walks of life that could help strengthen the people within the walls appeared and naturally the people clung to each other. Leaders emerged, and plans were put into effect to better the community. Every adult was a vital tool, everyone with sure hands a means to keeping everyone else safe. Once secure, they began to send small parties out in the wilderness around them, exploring, discovering, and of course searching for answers.
Within the town they found weapons, mainly just bows and blades, but there were some knives. The tools seemed ancient, a miracle that these hadn't turned to rust and decayed. Still these tools were invaluable for fulfilling the needs of the community. Even more invaluable were a couple of individuals who were already proficient with these ancient tools having trained back home before being brought to the new world. These people quickly took to training volunteers on how to use the weapons. For hunting, for cutting fire wood, even just in case there was something to defend against. The city appeared to be built to defend against a siege. Had walls that could be fortified, and a watch was gathered keeping a weary eye outside. Though none knew for sure whether true threats lurked outside of their walls, it was reasonable to assume if they could be brought to this fantastic world, others could as well. What else or who else might be out there? Were there other cities being filled in as this one was? Though there were plenty of skeptics a
better safe then sorry approach was adopted.
What was the most startling discovery in the first few weeks was the discovery of magic. Not some magical beast, or some strange rock that cast spells. But physical magic that the people themselves could use. The very first case was something really small, it almost didn't get noticed at all. A young boy who was playing inside the wall discovered he could make rocks glow in the dark for a few hours at a time. It had just been assumed for a time that some rocks glow. After all the world had two moons, the people had appeared out of nowhere, why not have glowing rocks? It was revealed quickly however the boy was behind making the rocks glow, and after that revelation many more followed. A man discovered he had the ability to summon a glass of tea, yet another discovered he could conjure fire. Before long it was apparent everyone had the potential for a single magical trait they could use. Some were powerful, some were weak, some were still trying to find their talents, but everyone had one that was their own to discover.
As the scouts reported back some claimed they had seen elves and faeries in the world around them, though these creatures were said to disappear just as quickly. The feeling was skeptical, as no one every seemed to get a good look, and these sightings were early and late. Maybe the environment around them had been playing with their senses? Regardless within the first month they had the immediate area around the city scouted, and plans to explore further began to get put into motion. They could survive in this world, and they intended to do just that.
The Elves of EnaseraTwo months after waking up in the city the humans now call Eden, a lone hunter came face to face with a pack of elves, and before long the two sides made first real contact with one another. As amazing and remarkable a discovery as the revelation was, the Elves have long been enduring trouble of their own. Once a mighty empire that stretch the whole of the continent, the great Elven people have seen their strength and power crumble entirely. Some due to civil war, some due to various other powerful creatures that saw weakness and broke their binds under the Elven guidance. The Elven people are now scattered throughout the world, and Ensaera stands as one of the last few hubs where the Elves are truly powerful. Drawn together with a desire to survive their people now stand divided once more as the future of Ensaera and possible their entire race stands in the balance of a single decision. Should the elves remove themselves from a world so primal and chaotic, it might destroy them all, or should the elves strive to return to the great glory they once held.
At the center of this conflict rests the proud royal family. Many within the royal family feel it is wise to remove themselves, preserve the race and keep from being wiped out entirely. However a so called prophet, a messenger from their gods has risen, and pushes for the elves to stand fast. Urging it's people to be strong and to remember the glory they once had. Tensions are high, with such tension the conflict has threatened to turn to violent. Just as everything has begun to reach it's boiling point the elves make contact with the human race. This new encounter, the relationship and actions of both sides could very well bring the struggle to a head and the actions of the beings on both sides will no doubt ultimately decide what path the elves of Ensaera will follow. Be it a return to glory, it's removal from the world, or perhaps it's utter annihilation........
We are now accepting Elven characters.
We are also taking characters from the royal family if such positions interest you.
