People as of late love complaining over who would win in Superman vs. Goku. Well I personally think they can both eat their heart out when it comes to Gurren Lagann.

SPOILERS AHOY

I'm reminded of the closest thing gundam has to Zoids; BuCues and the LaGOWE.

Another favorite of mine would be the robot Metroplex from Transformers. Man I get the chills when he shows up to ruin the Decepticon's day.

Not to mention the size of his toy compared most other transformer toys.

I remember when I first played Fall Of Cybertron and things were going bad for the Autbots then this happened.

Not sure if I'd call him a mecha, but honorary mention goes to the Big P! He died for the NPCs of an MMO after all.

When I was a kid, they had the tagline. "The Biggest Sci Fi Adventure since Star Wars!" on the Swedish VHS boxes of Robotech...I preferred it to Star Wars I must admit.

Okay, every mecha in BGC 2033 is pure awesome gold, but the D.D Battlemover was the most badass-looking of them all. This thing kicked ass, and it had a nuclear device within to spite-f*ck you if you killed it.

Is it too late to say that Super Fumina is the best mecha?

Oh yes Prime definitely deserves to be in this thread. Its for both mecha and robots after all so he definitely counts :)

Now I was digging through Youtube and I found this beautiful clip

How many other mechas start as a five car train before proceeding to go up a ramp. Fly in the sky while detaching from each other. Combine into a giant mech that stands taller than the bad guys. Glides back down onto the tracks and skids across the tracks and then unleash Power Ranger/Super Sentai justice with a GIANT GATLING GUN AND MISSLE LAUNCHER COMBO?!

If we're discussing crazy sentai mechs, here's the newest one.

Well uh...........no offense Yugi but that one looks like Japan is scrapping at the bottom of the barrel for Sentai Mechs....

I'm pretty sure that was a stop-motion animation clip of the mecha toy being transformed...used as actual show footage?

I dunno about that but if it was...that technically wouldn't be the first time since Power Rangers did it before as well.

The first one with the original Megazord was stock footage from Japan. The ones with the Ninja and Shogun however are toys being used. The obvious sign is the Dragonzord chest piece beneath the Ultrazord neck and the if you closely with Shogun one of its arms is pink just like the toy. They didn't even go through the effort of repainting it white.

None taken. This is honestly the weirdest sentai mecha besides that weird gosei-ostrich thing....

To me the weirdest thing about Shurikenjin is that despite its odd component mechs, it actually makes a cohesive robot.

I can't really use the "Its not matching the theme" excuse here either since Gokaiger despite being pirates had a crazy ensemble as well. A pirate ship that also contained a spaceship, two trucks, and a sub. While Gokai Silver had a giant dino robot with a drill tail and they used a dragster race car to form their combination super mecha. That's not even counting all the other crazy stuff it could do lol

Time to introduce something new to the thread. Instead of pictures/videos of robots and mecha, howbout some robot/mecha-themed music!
