This is a work in progress, so please bear with me as it develops...

Introduction:
I've been roleplaying for...well, let's just say for many years, and been active on sites similar to E since 2006 and on E since 2015. I grew up on Dungeons & Dragons (RPG) and Star Wars (Movies) and love that kind of creativity and world building. I'm retired military and combat veteran and currently a firearms instructor and security contractor. I have two dogs and a cat and a wife that I love. Not sure what else to put in here for the moment, so I'll go straight onto some other, arguably more important items.

Writing Preferences:
I don't want to go down and say that I will write a certain number of sentences or paragraphs in each post, but I will do my best to offer a good enough description of things for you to work with. I avoid one liners like the plague but, unless I'm doing the initial set up for a scene, my posts will likely be in the 2-3 paragraph range. By the same token, I ask that you avoid one liners, but I do not expect anything more than a good response that leaves me something to work with. I think it's fair to say that 2-3 paragraphs is usually enough to do so. I think if you look at my posting history, you can get a good sense of what I typically do.

I'm not a grammar/spelling 'nazi', and I do my best to catch my own mistakes before I post and I ask that you do the same.

I write in American English, but if you throw in an extra 'u' (as in armour or labour) I won't freak out. Not even a little bit. I'll only use other languages for flavor and probably with the use of a web-based translator or otherwise somehow indicate that something was said in another language. If I use a translator, I will leave a comment with what it actually says in English. If this is troublesome for you, let me know. I can work with your preferences.

Communication:
This is pretty critical. I think it is important to get a sense of how we want to start things and at least have a vague idea of the general direction of the story. Characters, settings, overall goals, 'end game', what-have-you, should at least get some attention during this period. As things develop, it is equally important to stay in touch OOC to make sure that we both understand any shift in direction the story may be taking and to ensure that things are still fun and interesting for all involved.

Real life is what it is. Inspiration is what it is. If either of these things get in the way, which they do for me from time-to-time, just give me a heads up. Typically, I can respond every 2-3 days. Sometimes more frequently. Less often, less frequently. If it is day three and I've not come up with something to post due to Real Life or Writer's Block, then I'll make a good effort to let you know on that third day. I ask that you do the same. If we work out a slower posting rate early on (for example, once/week), then we'll adjust these time frames.

I have had a couple periods where I fell off the face of the planet. For those writers to whom I did that, I apologize. I've had a couple of rough patches IRL and did not handle them well and I failed to meet my own standards of communication. I don't like to think of myself as a flake, but I had to take a hard look at myself during that time.

Story vs. Smut:
I can do more of one, more of the other or any combination of both. That will be hashed out in the communication phase of any roleplay. My experience is that stories with more smut tend to be better as short stories/single scenes, but with the right inspiration could develop into something longer. My experience with a combination is that usually one or the other will become more dominant fairly quickly, with the sex taking a back seat to the greater story, or the story nearly being forgotten about and the focus falls into the sex. That's fine, it is what it is. And that is why communication is important in making sure that both/all parties involved are still have fun and find the writing interesting.

Settings I Enjoy:
I can find something in nearly everything. Contemporary, Historical, Science Fiction, Fantasy...you name it, there is probably something I can make a connection with. Examples of fandoms I'm more familiar and enjoy are:

Science Fiction - To include but not limited to...Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, Firefly, Doctor Who, Cthulhutech, Cyperpunk, Rifts, Halo, Battletech/Mechwarrior, Ender's Game, Dune (prequals on through), various RPGs

Superheroes - To include but not limited to...Marvel (comics, movies & tv shows), DC (comics, movies & shows), Image Comics, various RPGs

Post Apocalypse - Inspirations include Mad Max, Road Warrior, Walking Dead, Shaun of the Dead, Jericho, I am Legend, World War Z, The Book of Eli, various RPGs

Fantasy - To include...Lord of the Rings, Sword of Truth series, Mallorean series, Belgariad series, Tamuli Series, Elenium series, Elric of Melnibone, numerous RPGs (Dungeons & Dragons/Pathfinder/Amber...dozens)

Werewolves & Vampires (more from the World of Darkness RPG perspective, but also from various movies/literature)

Call of Cthulhu - I think deserves its own recognition RPG & Lovecraft Literature, various settings...Victorian, 1920', Delta Green, Cthuhlutech

Steampunk (to include Warmachine/Hordes/Iron Kingdoms)

Anime/Manga - Berserk, Basilisk, Attack on Titan (fairly limited here, but there is some really good stuff...a lot of strange stuff, too)

Anything with a Military bent (I'm former military and this is an easy fit for me)

Despite it's appearance, this is not an exhaustive list. I generally prefer to play non-canon characters, but that can be worked out if you have a specific desire in mind.

Plots:
Plots...well, mostly I've jumped on other folks' ideas and have had a blast doing it. The collaboration to develop a believable background and setting and then moving that story forward has been an amazing experience. As far as my own ideas, *shrugs* I suppose I have a few, even if only in the most vague sense. Some group, some paired. Who plays what is very open.

Post Apocalypse - Two survivors trying to make it through whatever destroyed civilization as we know it. Super basic, I know. The fun is building the details. What was it? How fast? What were the long term issues? How long since the outbreak?

Science Fiction - Possibly Halo universe, but could be anything (Battletech? Star Wars?). Soldier/Soldier or Soldier/Civilian or Soldier/Partisan are caught behind enemy lines and they are trying to survive, make life for the enemy difficult, and eventually hoping to find real safety. Again, fairly basic idea. Planning will make it our own.

Out of Time (Science Fiction/Contemporary/Fantasy) - Something happens to draw one character into a different time/universe. Could be a jump foward or back or to another world entirely. Could have elements of fantasy, science fiction, or both...or neither, I suppose, sticking with a more historical genre (a la Outlander). Or perhaps both were drawn, maybe they were together before the shift or maybe they came from different places and times. Again, the fun is in the planning.

Star Wars - Order 66/Rebellion Era. Jedi/Trooper, Jedi/Jedi, Rebel/Rebel...on the run...can they make it to safety to find a new way of life outside of the Empire's reach or will they try and hinder it as best they can.

Or pitch me something! I'm super flexible and enjoy the creation and collaboration. PM me with ideas!

On's:
The following are always a good bet:
Foreplay/Teasing (this can be great fun and really builds the tension and the scene)
Oral (giving/receiving...because)
Active Sex (switching positions and 'athletic' positions...ask if you think you need to)
Switching (who doesn't like getting attacked by their lady from time-to-time? lol)
Light Bondage (handcuffs, tying to the bed, blindfolds...yep, I'm good with that)
Strong Characters (if I did play against a submissive character, she'd have to be feisty)

This changes a bit if I'm playing a female...

Otherwise, if it's not an 'Off', it's probably an 'On' even if only in certain context. I do prefer the idea that my partners are over 18 or of equal mental maturity for whatever race/being they are playing. The type of character & story I'm writing will affect what turn-ons and kinks I would want to pursue. My actual tastes are relatively vanilla, but I'm willing (wanting?) to stretch and try some things so just ask.

Which leads me to gender preference...Although I am heterosexual male, I've frequently written as a female (and apparently rather effectively based on feedback). For males, I've only played heterosexuals. For females, I've played Heterosexual, Bisexual, and Lesbians. This does not mean that I'm unwilling to try something new, but I would be less familiar with it and might take a bit to make it work. Generally speaking, I would prefer M/F or F/F pairings. Again, that is not set in stone.

Off's:
The following are always a no-go:
Snuff
Gore/Guro
Vore
Scat
Mutilation
Humiliation (there are some exceptions to this and would require a fair bit of communication beforehand)
Bloodplay (as a sexual device, this is a nogo, except in the mild context of a vampire's or werewolf's bite)
Water sports (there are possible exceptions to this, but we would need to talk about it first)
Extreme BDSM (spanking and tying to the bed are not extreme in my book, knot-play and contortion is, if it's questionable we'll talk)
Beastiality (the whole consensual thing...furry/anthro/sentient is okay)

The 'Off' list is probably not an exhaustive list, either. These are just the things that, for me, are definitely objectionable material.
