Not a threat to us. They could be a threat to South Korea if Trump were to encourage/antagonize them...the South would win, but an absurd number of North Koreans would get slaughtered in the process, and the South would get hammered too. And yeah, NK is there because they're useful to China - Chinese support of NK in a resurgent Korean War scenario would be a bloodbath.

*nods* if the war did restart it'd be senseless bloodshed as likely due to the support from US and China to their respective allies, it would just end at the DMZ and nothing would change :(

I'm pretty shocked that he's not getting prison crime.  >:( The crime was horrific. Sometimes I hate plea bargaining; the fact this guy took an Alford plea is practically a concession he would have been convicted under the original charges.

I'd never heard of an Alford plea, and after looking it up, I'm still confused. Why does this even exist beyond some way for the defendant to save face by not legally admitting their guilt?
