I wonder if he wet his pants doing that.  He makes some sense and would probably make more if he lost the temper tantrum.  Though, he is the perfect example of what he is ranting against.

Emotions underlie a persons values, or rather what they regard as important. Anger is a reactive emotion to perception. In this case it seems he believes no one will listen to him so he feels he needs to be forceful to get his point across. I don't know the guy, but judging by this I would say he has his heart in the right place. It's also clear that this was a performance and he is a good actor, from his perspective this was probably a very calculated move.

Beguile's Mistress

Emotions are almost always a reaction to a stimulus.  I'm not sure what he would be feeling, though some of it is probably anger, betrayal and/or disappointment.

Missy

Which are all valid and reasonable emotions given the circumstances, I might also add possibly fear or hopelessness to that list.

The fact still remains though that this was obviously a heavily choreographed performance, none of that camera movement was the least bit random. It's hard to say conclusively without having a baseline norm of his to compare it to since I'm unfamiliar with him. It's completely possible he felt no one would listen to a gentler approach and felt what was necessary is a wake up call.

Given where we're going then he may actually be right.

A massive earthquake, estimated at Richter 7.4, has hit New Zeland, about 55 miles from the city of Christchurch. This is the fifth major quake to have struck the region and the town since only 2010. Back in 2011, two powerful quakes destroyed parts of the city centre and broke down the tower of the cathedral. The new quake is even more powerful than either of those and it was a shallow one, which is going to increase the effect on the ground (also, it happened at midnight).  :-(

New Zealand is on the other side of the globe, but one of the best friends of my mum spent much of her early life in the area and studied at the university of Christchurch. She regularly visits her friends and her sister there, and some years back my mother accompanied her on a trip to NZ lasting a couple of weeks, so it's not a completely foreign town to me either. Hoping that this new shock does not cause even more serious destruction.

Lustful Bride

I hate when people go into those insane rage filled rants. I want to listen to calm, intellectual explanaitons.

Leave those screaming rants for Nostalgia Critic wannabees :P

IN other news, New Zealand is hit by Tsunamis and Earthquakes.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/tsunami-hits-new-zealand-after-series-of-strong-quakes/ar-AAkem1I?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=HPCOMMDHP15

I wonder if the tsunamis might have been caused by the Quakes that hit Japan a while back.

Fighting between IS forces and the Iraqis has degraded into House by House and Street by Street.

IS is also using the fleeing civilian refugees as a way to fall back and dig in to another defensible position.

Technically? Last night on 60 Minutes.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/60-minutes-donald-trump-family-melania-ivanka-lesley-stahl/

http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/trump-addresses-reports-of-violence-stop-it - direct link to the video segment

QuoteNor he said had he heard about reports of racial slurs and personal threats against African Americans, Latinos and gays by some of his supporters.

Donald Trump: I am very surprised to hear that-- I hate to hear that, I mean I hate to hear that--

Lesley Stahl: But you do hear it?

Donald Trump: I don’t hear it—I saw, I saw one or two instances…

Lesley Stahl: On social media?

Donald Trump: But I think it’s a very small amount. Again, I think it’s--

Lesley Stahl: Do you want to say anything to those people?

Donald Trump: I would say don’t do it, that’s terrible, ‘cause I’m gonna bring this country together.

Lesley Stahl: They’re harassing Latinos, Muslims--

Donald Trump: I am so saddened to hear that. And I say, “Stop it.” If it-- if it helps. I will say this, and I will say right to the cameras: Stop it.

Now let's see him double down on it. Do it for real, outside of a publicity interview.

If I had the equipment (large TV, loudspeaker, and PC-to-TV cable), I would stick that in my window and broadcast it to the whole neighborhood.

On a freaking loop.

Until CBS knocked on my door personally and asked me to stop.

Bannon is a big guy at Breitbart, home of the alt-right.  Trump can pay lip service to bringing people together, but putting a white supremacist in the White House with him is exactly the opposite.

David Duke and other racists are already praising it as a big win for them that Bannon has got such a prominent position.

Now let's see him double down on it. Do it for real, outside of a publicity interview.

There's another point in that interview where Trump was commenting on the fight against ISIS, saying "we've got great generals" leading the effort. The interviewer returned, "But you once said you knew more about how to defeat ISIS than our generals?"

Trump: "Well, if you look at their track record, I probably do."

Okay, I realize he is not receiving information directly from the Pentagon so he may not feel up to discussing the war on ISIS and how to win it on primetime tv, but that sounded...either ironic or just feckless.  Are they great generals or are they ineffective? ::) It's really not what one would expect from a president-elect on this topic.

I suspect what he wants to say (assuming he knows what he is saying) is, that the generals are great, but the current government doesn't know what it is doing. The military is good, they just need great political leadership giving them great orders - which Trump claims he can provide.
