Its main fear and source of protests is that it will be used to take land from white landowners without compensation, given that the one who put forth the idea (the leader of the EFF faction) has openly made mentions of forcibly removing or killing whites.

Given it comes from an open racist, I can see where some might be worried. But I also see that it will just as likely be used to take land away from poor farmers and used as a way to keep the rich of South Africa fat and happy, while the poor get even less.

The World Peace and Unification Sanctuary in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania held a bizarre commitment ceremony where brides and grooms renewed their vows holding AR-15 assault rifles.

So, so tragic. I have a personal and professional experience with European schools in several countries. Public, private, empoverished, posh, so private they aren't declared as an entity... I cannot imagine shootings being that (!) common, nor teachers carrying weapons because there's no way from stopping children to shoot other children. I can't.
