Okay, so maybe something funny for a change... Here's a drunken boar for you guys:

It's a boar that has been brought up and living in a forestry... One week ago, he got into altercation with another boar and escaped the forestry. Yesterday, he was found sleeping next to one farmer's house... with lots of fermented fruits lying around. Turns out, the farmer had been making wine and, afterwards, threw the fruits away. And the boar found them... ;)

This is apparently a common occurrence around orchards as well - farmers will leave wind-blown apples/pears/etc on the ground, and deer, squirrels and even moose will eat the leavings.  (Tip when encountering a drunken moose:  back away slowly and quietly, and don't make any aggressive moves.  Above all, do not sound your car horn.)

When I was a kid we had a tree that grew berries which were poisonous to humans but that the birds loved to eat.  I don't know if the berries made them drunk, high, or what, but for several days in summer we'd have tipsy birds fluttering in random directions all around the back yard.   ::)

Chapeau to the UN, though this is bittersweet in my eyes... because it also shows what the US is starting to look like in the eyes of the world.

People love to point out the bad, but they forget the good the US still does.

Quote from: the article on December 21, 2017, 08:57:24 PMSome polling counters Haley's claim that the decision to move the embassy reflects the will of the US people. A University of Maryland Critical Issues poll released December 1 found that 63% of Americans oppose moving the embassy to Jerusalem, including 44% of Republicans. The pollsters questioned 2,000 people and had a margin of error of 2.19%.
A December 13 Monmouth University poll that found Trump at record low approval ratings also found that 39% of Americans thought moving the embassy to Jerusalem was a bad idea, while only 23% thought it was a good idea. Some 51% of respondents said it would lead to greater regional instability, while 10% said it would make the region more stable.

Haley: 'We're doing what the American people want us to do!'
American people: 'Uh, 'bout that...'

Isn't it interesting how the Trump administration can just lie about everything. The know the many of the American people will not check out what they say. The rest of the world seem to get it. Canada Said they were going to vote with the US, but after the Trump threats, they abstained.

Our President is a buffoon. Sorry to say.

And of course, Haley tries to spin it as a victory for the US after the fact, based on absolutely no logic that I can decipher:
Quote
In the aftermath, Haley's office said the support the US did get counted as a victory of sorts, pointing out that nine countries voted against, 35 countries abstained, and 21 were absent.

Hey look!  55 countries didn't vote against Trump!  That's almost a third of the total UN!

(Yes, I'm reaching here.  It's hard trying to squish inside a mind like that.)

One vote was important but the other 23,214 weren't.

Actually none of the votes were important.

Because of tomfoolery.

Quote
State law says the winner of a tied House race will be determined by lot — leaving the fate of the chamber to what is essentially a coin toss.

James Alcorn, chairman of the State Board of Elections, said the winner will be chosen by placing names on slips of paper into two film canisters and then drawing the canisters from a glass bowl (or his bowler hat). The drawing has been scheduled for Dec. 27 11 a.m. at the elections board in Richmond.

For the rest of it, it's almost like the representatives aren't worried about voters turning out to polls or something.

Actually that's not as unusual as people would like to think, there was an election in the UK this year where the winner was decided by drawing straws, admittedly there were none of the legal maneuvers involved and I do love both candidate's reactions when the straws are revealed.

The most moral army in the world, what a joke, as is the government response that no live fire was used. What gives them the right to fire across the border. Just more provocation to try to justify the murder of civilians on the premise of "Security".

Agree (and I know I can speak for Dashenka too on this, though she doesn't post on this part of the forum) :)

Breaking news: A huge mural painting of an erect manhood, placed on a Manhattan building for Christmas, quickly gets painted over on the orders of the landlord. :P The artist is - you guessed it - a Swedish woman :P  (and she did have a commission for the painting, thiough not from the owner of the house).

A lesbian couple and their two pre-teen children found having been put to death with "exceptional cruelty" in a basement flat in Troy, NY. The police are baffled by the roughness (the precise nature of the violence is so far undisclosed, making it even more diturbing) and by the lack of any clear motive.

Ugh...this sounds like the Clutter murders in an LGBT family context.  :o
