Not exactly news anymore but still worth mentioning: http://usuncut.com/news/cleveland-indians-white-hypocrisy/

This made me laugh a lot, actually.

It would be like the Kremlin wall....though what Trump wants might be closer to a modern-day Chinese Wall.  ;)

That worked so well against the Mongols...

The only exception I can think of is Hadrian's Wall, and that didn't really fall so much as was abandoned when Rome was forced to contract its borders.

Hadrian's Wall was abandoned many times during the Roman occupation - mostly because they didn't have the manpower to staff it.  It also isn't so much of a 'wall' as it is a demarcation.  We're talking ridges of dirt and sod in many places, not brick and stone.

News article, source?

Sorry, was tired earlier.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2016/04/11/this-horrifying-and-newly-trendy-online-harassment-tactic-is-ruining-careers/

This article talks about it, though its more about doxxing and harassment in general.

Well in general a few things.

The article it self while being clickbaity and written in a very interesting fear mongering manner, classic reporting there. Dos not really directly link her to Gamergaters* they are mentioned with another case. And ultimately it was Nintendo who fired her, if it was for bad reasons they carry the brunt of the blame for that. In this long ass article none of the actually relevant information to any of that is shared in this or that way.
And yes people should not do things like this to each other

Also anything titled "The only guide to X" makes every skeptical bone in my body ache "Ironically, even progressives and anti-harassment activists have adopted the tactic: " i love this part, because its like saying "Well they started with the death camps, so if they had some we had to do it to." Oh wait its still fucking wrong, this is like watching two tribes of chimpanzees fight shitflinging every-ware and in the end everything is covered in it.

As a whole, not this article specifically but more the underlying: The Horseshoe lives on
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_theory
So bunch of shitty people doing shitty things to each other because they are in a pair of different "camps/tribes" and there images of each other have been distorted and made into such sub humans that they think any means justifies "the end" so awful all around.

Not directly related but while reading this i kept being reminded of this video

Three Suicide Bombers assault police station in Southern Russia. No casualties reported as the bombers were unable to get inside and simply decided to explode on the walls. But the explosions did not go all the way through.

Everyone's heard about North Carolina's anti-LGBT law being passed.
XHamster has retaliated by IP Banning the entire state of North Carolina from their site.

This is a gem however, I don't think what they are doing will motivate masturbators viewers to climb out of the closet and repeal this law. I do like this though. Another downfall is that radicalized Christians might view this as progress as they not only made it legal to discriminate against people they are prejudiced against on religious grounds, but a porn site has become unavailable to them too.

Kulich told HuffPost that the company’s statistics show that North Carolinians are more open-minded — at least about their porn — than laws like HB2 might suggest.

“Back in March, we had 400,000 hits for the term ‘Transsexual’ from North Carolina alone,” he said. “People from that state searched ‘Gay’ 319,907 times,” he added.

I despise those who support this, it sets a terrible precedent. How long until its okay to ban Jews from stores? Or refusing service to the Disabled? Might as well start forcing everyone to get tattoos, I better get mine for being a disident /rebel! *

ugh *all pissed* I hate this because I actually plan to move to NC in a year but this...ugh...*slamming face into keyboard* I pray that they repeal this law before we start having other states adopt it.

Ah so it is just as I suspected, its not the people that have a problem, just the poiticians.  *Inception music*

EDIT: * Yes I know its the slippery slope fallacy but I think it should still apply to this.

Just spend a bit looking for what the heck this thing is, i mean actually.

So this is the toilet bill, well toilets and changing rooms. Honestly reading over it its so..   pointless. I am against its principle because it could technically be used for other things, but its fucking stupid. Its idiotic, unless you have a plan to anchor other things onto it or use it as a precedent. But it feels more like one of those "think of the children" things ware people flip the fuck out because they do not want to understand and fear mongering is easy.

Its sounds like one of those laws people make because they do not want to have the conversation with little Jenny why some people are like this and some are like that.

It is pretty idiotic, especially when you consider that a transman (born a woman) who has gone through even a modicum of hormone therapy is going to develop masculine characteristics - including facial hair.  A transwoman in a similar situation will develop feminine characteristics, including breasts.  Now, tell these people that they have to go into the restroom that matches what they were 'born as', and imagine the reactions.  They can range 'uncomfortable stares' at best to very dangerous situations at worst.

Well what do you expect from a politician? Its not like they actually think things through. Thinking is for poor people.

It's idiotic politicians going 'we know what is best for you' because it soothes their own particular, and peculiar prejudices.

NASA are looking into how to develop potatoes that could be grown on Mars.

Very interesting idea - of course, if there's to be any long-term human presence on the red planet you'd have to grow food there, but the conditions with very cold and grainy soils, no rain and extremely low atmospheric pressure are going to be tricky.
