Darktide is adding an Arbites class that comes with a puppy!

So, for me… I love Warhammer 40k. Huge nerd, I paint the minis and play the games, and I have ran some Dark Heresy table tops games. I think it is a fantastic setting for good deep Grim Dark stories!

I just don’t let the neck beard grimdark craziness take over. I prefer it when running Rouge Trader, to have Ork and Eldar crew about. Hidden of course when on deck.

Is that an ork?! No not at all Commisar, just a large Ogren suffering from.. umm… space scurvy… it makes them green.

When I get approved to play with everyone I hope to play with some other Warhammer nerds.

There's a reasonable number of us about, but 40k games are a rare enough thing. I think atm there's just the one going, a Black Crusade game.

Nice! Is it Freeform or using a system? I wonder how that would work on a forum

HairyHeretic

Using the system. Forum based play is much the same as tabletop, except a lot slower :)

Makes sense. I can imagine it also is a little less chaotic though too. Having everyone say what they want to do. Then do the rolls and such

HairyHeretic

Yes and no. Any game is likely to have players from multiple timezones across the world, and it can sometimes slow things down further if you're waiting for a particular person to post in order. Tends to be better to play a bit fast and loose with the rules at times, to keep the game moving.

That makes sense. Never had to play with someone across time zones before. So that would be interesting to deal with. Still, if it is a good crew I bet it is worth it

Fantastic.

I'm pretty certain this is Sevatar and Altani, from The Long Night short story.

40k related - John Blanche apparently passed away. I was never a huge fan of his style of art, but you can't deny the influence he had on 40k.

Yeah, I saw that as well. I agree that he was not my favourite 40k artist, but it's damn near impossible to argue against the impact and influence he had on 40k's whole style and aesthetic. A big loss for sure!

Damn. My introduction to Warhammer (40k) was winning the 3rd edition starter box in a gaming store raffle. That cover was and is iconic to me for 40k.

I liked Blanche's work, and hearing that he passed is a bit of a bummer way to start the day.
