If anything's being replaced, it'd be WFB.

I am curious about what's going to happen after End Times. I've always liked Fantasy better than 40K, so even if I don't really play it anymore, I hope it goes on.

GW will never stop selling their flagship game lines. Something will still be there after End Times, and while Heresy-era stuff is popular right now, it's still ultimately Warhammer 40,000.

So, here is what is apparently coming in May in the Horus Heresy starter set

Early Heresy mark armor Astartes x20
Cataphractii Terminators x5
Contemptor Dreadnought x1
Praetor x1

They'll be generic models, not Legion marked, so able to fit into any force. Depending on the price point they set with this, I can see it selling very well.

I so hope we get to use the forgeworld primarchs eventually as well :P

General consensus seems to be Forgeworld will keep the more specialised stuff, Legion upgrade packs and what have you.

Well a guy can hope :P

I wonder what sort of special characters they will bring out for them though... If any at all

My guess would be Forgeworld will be doing the special characters, same as they are now.

I quite want to get Sevatar, but I really don't want the big scenic base. Wish they'd do a cheaper option with just the model itself :) I want to field him as my Night Lords army commander.

I've been wondering why Bjorn wasn't interred in a Comtemptor Dreadnought <.< I know they're a recent addition, but they've had time to retcon it :P

EDIT: There were still functioning facilities to produce them by the time Bjorn was wounded

I think they should make more of the customizable base models.
there is still only one ork warboss for sale, grazskull, and we need more of things like that.

also as always they need to stop pricing their minis as collectibles, it would bring in a ton more business. For example, the aforementioned warboss problem, make pieces for generic warbosses and one big bad metal collectable mini for Grazskull and say to their stores "if you wanna field grazskull in the official games, gotta buy the real thing."

it pains me to see some of the stuff GW does with pricing, that's why there are maybe 10 Warhammer players in all of the state of New Hampshire, and almost none in maine...

I admit I understand the dilemma...

I had some money to spend lately and I considered using it to buy more WH40K stuff... but then, I recalled that I had other interests, too. So, instead, I spent the money on Eldritch Horror, Betrayal At House On The Hill and Numenera. Three complete games to play... for the same money, I'd get only a few more minis...

I can buy professionl quality full color art of warhammer fan characters for less than a starter kit of marines >-> that's a problem when the games like Dawn of War sell better than the minis

On the flip side of that arguement. I still have some mini's that I bought 20 and 30 years ago, and can still use them today. They may not be as nice as the newer ones, but they're still usable.

I read through Master of Sanctity today in the waiting room... I am not quite sure what I think of Gav Thorpe when he writes 40k fiction...

Yep. Skitarii pics have been doing the rounds for the last few days. They look interesting, but I'll be saving my money for the 30k figures / set in preference to AdMech.

Might be of interest to any Sisters / Dark Eldar players as alternate models.

This was their previous Kickstarter

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/loudnraging/raging-heroes-the-toughest-girls-of-the-galaxy?ref=users

and those are now up on their site here

http://www.ragingheroes.com/

Not as much useful, to my mind, as they seemed to be mostly something that would work with an IG or =I= army. With the AdMech now being released, that does open up another possibility.

That being said, I could definitely take Nepharya here

http://www.ragingheroes.com/blogs/news/14527169-update-90-latest-renders-pledge-manager-close-moved-to-june-19

in my Chaos force, either as a count's as Warpsmith or an allied AdMech character.

Raging Heroes are nice, but a bit pricey.

Anyone do Warmachine/Hordes?

Yep. I play Cryx. Started building a Legion force, but never completed it, and most of it is still sitting in the boxes.

Sweet; I'm primarily Khador.  Putting together a Legion force though...slowly....

I used to play 40k long, long ago...suffice to say one I bought the first boxes of Tau to hit the local store 'cause I was bored of space marines, and dropped out soon after :P  Couldn't quite handle the roller coaster of rules and power changes.  Have been enjoying my steam robots though.

Hi there again, WH40K buddies :) How're you all doing?

I have a question, as I'm coming up with a character for a WH40K solo story:

Basically, do people in this universe regard magic as, well, magic? They have starships, guns and so on. So, if they see a Chaos cultist wielding strange powers, would they consider such a character a sorcerer? Or would they rather be considering him just a psyker etc.?

I know that there are Chaos sorcerers and the like in the setting, but are they regarded as sorcerers in-universe?

I see my character as a noblewoman that wants to get some more influence for herself and decides to seek out a sorcerer she heard about to help her. Is such a situation feasible in WH40K setting? Or am I too blatanly transplanting fantasy cliches into this universe?

BTW. I don't know if you saw this already, but... the Eye of Terror has been found!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/space/11550868/Giant-mysterious-empty-hole-found-in-universe.html

It's all real!  :o  ;D

People who can manipulate the power of the warp, if they aren't a sanctioned psyker from one of the major Imperium organizations (Astra Telepathica, Astra Militarum, Navis Nobilitae, and so on) are widely viewed as heretical; and as such are usually hunted down by good law abiding Imperial forces and hated by the average citizen of the Imperium. In fact, sanctioned psykers are often suspected and/or hated by many of the Imperium as well, with some organizations, like the Ecclesiarchy, even willing to hunt down sanctioned psykers in the pay of powerful groups like the Inquisition.

That being said, on almost every Hive World there seems to be a burgeoning black market with some form of psyker/chaos/xenos element. FFG's Dark Heresy series and a number of the Black Library books have instances where rich nobility, displaying deviant and/or sybaritic tendencies, dabble in these extremely heretical circles for their own various reasons. So it's not unfeasible that a noblewoman seeks out a sorcerer that's infamous in the undercity - but she'll have to do so very, very discretely and quietly.
