Fairies. What do you think of when you hear the word? Tinkerbell? Rumpelstiltskin? Any other generic figure from children's bedtime stories? Or some more modern, less charitable meaning?
The Fair Folk exist. They have simply adapted. They are reborn in human bodies and live among humanity, mysteriously beautiful and terrible, and create glamour to sustain themselves and keep this fading world from losing its last dreams.
Some inspire. Others ravage. All are irresistible. All irrevocably change the human lives they touch.
All are addictive.
Daireann is one of the nice ones. Cultivating a great artist in order to bask, in turn, in the glow of his creativity is her calling.
Too bad that nothing is as simple as it seems.
