A BB code editor?

Does anyone a good editor software that can be used to write posts outside of the website?

Ideally, it should have an option for 'preview' or even WYSIWYG as well as support for complex things like spoilers, weblinks and images. I would like to write a document without making it unreadable with links and tags. Perhaps there an existing program that can be expanded with those features?

I'd like this too, however I suspect that it may be a little tricky given BBCode using applications like our esteemed forum use different tags (that is, some tags are activated by plug ins, so there's no definitive set of tags.

Happy to be proved wrong here of course.
