Claudia black for Wolverine?!  I would have never thought of that and I love that choice.

I was just thinking the same thing. What a freaking awesome choice!

If there's still room, cher, I wouldn' mind playin a female Gambit.  Renée Lebeau.  :)  I can get the character sheet cranked out after I get home from work tomorrow. It's been a long time since I hopped into a classic MSH game.
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

If Gambit is taken, or somebody else wants that character, I'll be happy to work out an OC.  What would the creation guidelines be?

The original character that I created back when the first X - Men movie came out (around 2000), I didn't know much about the fandom and her powers were kinda off the charts. I want to make her more believable.

Her powers were centered around the mind. She was a telepath and she heard her boyfriend at the time wanting to do some pretty heinous things to her. She asked him what he meant and he didn't take kindly to her being able to "hear" his thoughts. He tried to attack her and she ended up leveling the building they were in. As a result, Xavier's people showed up and took her in.

I'm not sure exactly how to edit that so that she's not this uber powerful character. Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, guys.  I'm glad you like the idea. She's who I used for FemLogan on my own board ;). It'll be fun playing her as an X-Man here. In my game she was a Brotherhood member ;).

No one has laid a strong claim to him, I think Amelita was looking but he was buried amid a bunch of other possibilities - so I think you can feel free to submit him (her!) :)

I tend to be a bit more restrictive with Original Characters just because they tend to be the most nebulous. If you want to bring her over, I'd suggest focusing her on either Telepathy or Telekinesis and finding a way to make her a bit unique among the various other TP/TK users in Marvel.  We can probably come up with something workable if you have some ideas around that.

Think maybe a younf, student Domino would work?  I judt like the idea that her powers are just very subtle and its more just luck than anything obvious.

I know there are quite a few characters in the X-Men universe that use Telepathy and telekinesis. To be honest, I don't know if there's anything really new I can bring to the table with those specific powers.

Other ideas for powers that I had were pyrokinesis, more on the order of the chick in Hellboy than Pyro. Where she would be able to actually create the flame. When someone touches her or she touches an object, she can see flashes of memories. When she touches someone, she starts basically sucking the life out of them (not sure exactly how that one would work). My aim was to be different and do something not regularly seen by other mutants.

I'm very tired.

Certainly! Though powers like Probability Manipulation/Luck require some care because due to their very nature they're so very undefined, so when you write her up please spend a little extra time explaining what kinds of things she would use it for :) It is definitely a power that needs to be watched closely and requires a lot of responsibility - that said, I'm definitely open to it and would love to see a writeup!

A lady Gambit? A Lady Wolverine? She-Hulk?

Yup, I'm planting my interest flag all up on this thread.

So, before he gets stolen: Is anyone thinking about making Deadpool? Or should I start on his re-imagined character sheet?  >:)

Offline Tonberryshuffle

I briefly considered deadpool but couldn't come up with any interesting ideas.  I would've just used'em as-is and that defeats the purpose of the play.

Personally I'm thinking of keeping his gender the same, however the scarring from weapon X will be much more contained and his mutant powers would not only be his rapid healing, but include his teleportation (thus not limiting it to a gadget he's created).

I really don't want to mess with the Deadpool too much because...well, he's a legend on his own. What I do want to do though, is give him a straight up split personality. I think that'll be a fun dynamic, making him a teacher in the school knowing that at any moment a switch could flip and he could turn from reasonable to...well, not.

Hey, definitely glad to see your interest! I don't think anyone has mentioned a plan to pick up Deadpool yet.

My main issue with the above is that you have a guy like Xavier running the joint, so if your Deadpool could flip and freak out, he wouldn't be allowed around the school :) It is supposed to be a safe place for youngsters to learn, after all.

Deadpool as a character also tends to very much break the mood of the comics he's in, including breaking the 4th wall, and I'd like to try to avoid that if possible. He's workable, but I think he'd to be a little more sane.

Yeah, I completely agree.

This is why I'm introducing his split personality, where he's much more contained in side A (likely with Professor X's help, among other psychics) and side B is mostly shut out (but with a bit of leakage, to make things a little exciting). I won't have him breaking the 4th wall, either. As fun as it is for comic readers, wouldn't work too well here  :P

Awesome, I definitely think that can work then, especially with some friendly Telepath help :) I look forward to seeing him!

Deadpool - squeeee! <3

Also - Orange Marmalade - don't know if you had a chance to look over Rogue (or what I have so far)? I could use some input on putting him together. Not sure what stats to give him and whether to include the abilities the original Rogue took from Ms. Marvel. My original take is no, because I'm starting him off as a rather fresh-faced student doing everything from the beginning. However, I've come to see some of those abilities - such as flight - to be intrinsic to the character I know and love. Then again, I grew up with "The Uncanny X-Men"

I also don't know whether anyone was interested in playing Ms. Marvel and, if so, if they wanted that specific one.

Hmm... Would it be permissible to, in stead, have had him absorb the abilities of some NPC mutant? I could go with a slightly different skill set then but he'd still have some other permanent ability other than just the absorption thing. I dunno.

Offline MasterOfMyFate

Any chance I could make like a mix between YJ's Superboy with Juggernaut? Basically I am going for a young Juggernaut sorta thing with the premise of Superboy being indestructible sorta. I'd like to make my strength enough to give our She-Hulk a run for her money in an arm-wrestle. :P

Remember dear, Shulkie is still just a teen or at least in this RP. She has yet to reach her full potential.

Offline MasterOfMyFate

That's exactly what I'm going for too. I mean, I wanna super strength dood, but nothing that is totally capable of fighting Godzilla... yet. However, I would like the indestructible factor to be taken into consideration. It wouldn't be Young Juggernaut/Superboy if a bullet to the head could stop him. Mah, I will just fill out a character sheet for approval.

I tried to read the thread quickly before I left for work.

So interested in this!

I'll say now that I have interest in femme-evil-cyclops. But that could change in the next few minutes, let alone the next few hours.

Demoness of the Valley -
on the subject of telepaths/telekenetics with unique powers. Think outside of the box about that character, and apply part of personality into a metaphor and then make that metaphor a physical attribute about her mutation, or a minor physical upgrade. I had two ideas from the short story that you told. (she's unnaturally beautiful, and people have a tendency to act irrationally around her?) (she feeds off of her aggressors rage, therefor, the angrier they become, the stronger she becomes?) I hope that helps with the brain storming.

Offline Pumpkin Seeds

I was actually think of a female Cyclops.  Would be so neat.

As for Domino, I believe her power eventually was described as like subtle, not directly controlled telekinesis that simply effected a wide range around her.  Made me think of her stuff as "Area of Effect" rather than direct action to use rule system language.  So if I could play up that maybe she's brought to the mansion as a mutant that is considered to have potential with telekinesis, but nobody can quite figure out the problem since she doesn't seem to be able to manifest anything.

As for the whole probability and stuff, just figured she seems to get lucky a lot.  NOT THAT KIND OF LUCKY!

So her shots just seem to be real accurate, she appears really good at running for cover and ducking...and she's really good in a casino.  That is until she learns to focus her "luck" and such.  I don't intend for her to be very powerful, I like the underdog feel of Domino.  She's got a neat trick in a landscape of super powered ass kickers, but that one trick gets her out alive and on top by the skin of her teeth.

Very interesting stuff guys. I adore Rule 63 myself and some lovely charsheets floating about. Thinking of playing Rule 63 Pete Wisdom or Male Sage. *Ponders*

Offline JamesSureWould

I am very interested in this.

As for character concepts... Well, what about spiderman? I think having Peter Parker (or miles morales) be a mutant would be a fun idea.
IF not, there's a whole slew of characters I could do
*Nightcrawler - I'd probably make him a new student from a high society family in Germany. He grew up hidden away from almost everyone
*Colossus - Joined up with Xavier after beinga  member of the Brotherhood. A genuinely nice guy, and troubled by his time with the evil group
*Banshee - Young irish punk, kicked out of his family's house at 15. Committed some petty street crime, then got hooked into being an x-men by xavier

And that's not counting Genderswapped characters
*ShadowCat - I'm thinking of making Kitty a boy. So, Kenneth Pryde instead of Katherine.
*Marvel Boy - I'm thinking of Cameron Grey, the male counterpart to Jean Grey. His family was actually quite supportive of him, and treated his mutants powers as a gift
*Armor - A male version of Hisako Ichiki. He's a firt generation american, whose parent's immigrated to San Francisco a few years before he was born. He's abit of an otaku, with a love for giant monsters and mechas.
