Research Scientist turned Assistant MedicPhysical Appearance :
5'2, 118lbs Athletic build from a renewed interest in running and swimming since being stranded. Tattoo on her right wrist, of the Sanskrit symbol for "every day". Two small tribal turtles on the inside of her right ankle. Her peaches and cream skin that is typically never outside has taken a beating in the last year. Taryn now has a near constant pinky-copperish look with more freckles than she knew she had over her shoulders, chest and face. Distinguishing Traits:
Blue eyes that can stare and appear as if she can see how your mind works, though typically this is just an indication that Taryn has retreated into her own mind to dwell on things she doesn't often share. It can be disconcerting to be in her presence when this happens.History:
A geek girl from an early age, Taryn excelled in school, advancing quickly through even accelerated public school and university. Her passion is Experimental Evolutionary Developmental Biology but she is primarily a Genetics-centred Biotechnologist. Her work was her life before the crash and she loved every minute of it.
Taryn has a Ph.D. in medical biotechnology. Her mind was well suited to the field. She was recruited immediately from her doctoral studies. Her thesis on the evolution of feathers, challenging Alan H. Brush and Richard O. Prumís article published in 2003: Which Came First, the Feather or the Bird? drew the attention of a large research and development company awarding Taryn a position as head of an Evo-Devo research department, as well as substantial funding for the more experimental side of Evolutionary Development.
From an early age her parents, both athletes, had encouraged a lot of physical activity. At times they would put itís importance above studies, something Taryn rebelled against. She reluctantly agreed to include running in her daily routine to satisfy her parents needs. In time she fell off long runs on trails for runs on a treadmill in the gym two floors down from her offices. Running became a habit that if missed, would vex Taryn to no end as it is a large part of her process. Running has kept her in great health and physical shape and tended to keep her level headed. Despite the fitness/healthy side to her life, Taryn became a smoker in her mid twenties.Sexuality:
Bi-sexual - Enjoys taking a more submissive role in the bedroom with any partner, typically excited by rough, forceful sex.Likes:
Running, Puzzling things out, Rain (Thunder storms especially)Dislikes:
Sunburns, centipedes, spiders, when the fire goes out at nightStrengths:
Looking at things from all sides, climbing/agility, getting into small spaces, mediating disagreements, craftingWeaknesses:
Over-analyzing, paranoia, prone to heatstroke, control freak boarding on obsession regarding the state of the camp (layout, tidiness, cooking, equal sharing of all assets), outspoken.Personality:
Eccentric, geek girl with a scientific mind verging on genius. She's incredibly caring, driven to find answers and fairly adaptable to extreme circumstances. She also tends to diverge on scientific topics and can talk relatively fast when she gets excited about something. Quirky and funny in a sarcastic sense. Prone to talking aloud to herself to work through problems and situations. PLAYER ONS AND OFFS: Nymph's OnOs
