A friend of mine recently posted on social media a fantastic photo he took of a back alley in Boston, still cobbled and surrounded by brick buildings on both sides, with old-timey lanterns leaning out. He said something about almost being able to hear the ghosts of horse-and-carriages from the 1700s.
On a relevant note, I read with relish today this article about a lost symphony theater, far below street level, hidden under a piano store and much in disarray from disuse.http://www.messynessychic.com/2014/04/22/the-secret-symphinic-stage-forgotten-35-feet-below-a-local-piano-shop/
I've been IN that store! (and am mildly plotbunnied by the idea of a Secret Theater.)
