I. Draenai Toramael
« Reply #1 on: November 15, 2013, 07:29:23 PM »
Name:
Draenai "Drae" Toramael (the black-haired male in the image)

Age:
349

Species:
Hex'ras; spider-demon.

Orientation:
Homosexual. Most likely a switch.

Abilities:
- Illusion. Draenai is able to spin both basic and complex illusions. He primarily uses this ability to disguise his true form, as he finds it highly difficult to blend in with six arms, not to mention an additional six eyes on his forehead.
- Corrosive blood. Blue blood runs through his veins, laced with a dissolving agent that can burn through flesh and other materials upon direct contact. To some degree, it can eat away at various metals, but not very well.
- Necromancy. Drae learned the art of necromancy from a mentor in his former colony. This he uses for divination purposes, usually at the request of paying clients.

History:
Like the rest of his kind, Drae matured in underground dwellings, breaching the surface only under the cover of night. There, he studied the art of communicating with the dead, aiming to one day become a necromancer. Due to their subterranian nature, the sun both blinds and weakens his kind, which is but one of the reasons they tend to remain in darkness whenever possible. The Hex'ras usually make their settlements in intricate mountain tunnels or damp caves.

Drae despised this way of living. To him, remaining underground and out of sight felt far too much like hiding, which offended his prideful nature. Despite his reasoning, his peers and elders warned him against his higher aspirations. Drae accepted this as a personal challenge and, upon reaching adulthood, he abandoned his colony for the surface world. This action effectively sent him into a self-imposed exile, for leaving the colony was tantamount to treason.

The surface world proved a difficult change of pace for Drae. Nocturnal, not to mention weak during the daylight hours, he had an especially hard time finding a city in which to settle. After some trial and error, he discovered that larger settlements suited him better, as they reminded him of the bustling nature of Hex'ras colonies.

Now, Drae remains constantly on the move, flitting from city to city, practicing necromancy and his own brand of medicine to get by.

Personality:
Drae is a mysterious and solitary sort. He doesn't make friends easily, simply because he doesn't find many people interesting. What's more, most species above ground fear the Hex'ras, which led him to become even more introverted. To compensate for a lack of company, he spends much of his time reading. He yearns for companionship, although he doesn't expect it. At his core, he has a good heart, although it's hidden well behind dry wit and a dark sense of humor.

Settings:
Fantasy or modern fantasy. I could see him in an epic setting with magic and sorcery abound, or in modern-day New York, depending on the plot.

Partner:
Drae has a hard time holding onto lovers, whether because he loses interest or because they discover his true heritage and run screaming. More often than not, they tend to find him interesting and dangerous for a time, but his occupaton and his species always drive them away. Because of this, he settles for one-night stands to sate his urges.

His ideal long-term partner would be one who can cope with or even support his macabre occupation. Someone familiar with or involved with dark arts would be a bonus, but not required. More than anything, he needs a companion who will see more in him than a one-time bed partner.

II. Dr. Mikkel Ostergaard
« Reply #2 on: November 15, 2013, 07:29:37 PM »
Name:
Dr. Mikkel Ostergaard

Age:
44

Species:
Human

Height/Build:
6'3". Swimmer's build; finely toned, little bulk.

Orientation:
Bisexual. He has no specific preference between men and women.

History:
Brought up in the port town of Aarhus, Denmark, Mikkel was raised with the best of everything. Educated at the finest schools and given every opportunity, he developed extremely refined tastes which led to a lifelong interest in the arts. He has an eye for beauty, and at a young age he began to equate the serenity of death with a unique and almost ethereal appeal. Eventually, such led him to indulge his eye for macabre aesthetics - he claimed his first murder victim at seventeen.

Gifted academically, he went on to study medicine at the University of Cambridge, eventually emerging from his studies with a specialty in cardiothoracic surgery, which plays nicely into his penchant - and his talent - for mutilating his victims. Paired with family money and a successful surgical career, he enjoys a very comfortable lifestyle.

Up until his recent run-in with an armed burglar, during which time he sustained a gunshot to the chest and barely emerged with his life, he divided his time between his practice in Copenhagen and his second home in southern Maine. Now on sabbatical, the majority of his time is spent in Windham, Maine, and the surrounding cities within Cumberland County. There, he's able to continue his work in peace, and over time he has racked up a total body count of twenty-six.

Personality:
Mikkel has a profoundly outgoing personality. This he developed out of necessity, both to advance in his field and to veil his darker proclivities behind a smokescreen of normalcy. Due to possessing something of a god complex, he fancies himself a master, rather than a slave of his impulses. Insightful and deliberate, nothing he says or does is by accident, again out of self-preservation. Driven by a fierce sense of purpose, he strives to be the best at what he does.

He's well-spoken, charming, and generally a delight. He also has an exceedingly violent side and when provoked, he's perfectly capable of beating the object of his anger to a bloody pulp. This is something he hides very well, however, and it's hard to anger him in the first place.

Partner:
Mikkel enjoys corruption. In addition to his fondness for murder, he tends to get off on seducing unsuspecting souls into his world. That being said, he tires of lovers very easily. His ideal match would be someone who is passionate, driven, but also a little bit broken. Someone he can manipulate to some degree.

III. Aeriphos
« Reply #3 on: November 15, 2013, 07:30:12 PM »
Name:
Aeriphos

Age:
300+

Species:
Merperson

Orientation:
Pansexual. (Although Aeriphos is pansexual, my preferences are still m/m, so I'd like him to be paired with a male.)

Abilities:
Supersonic hearing, transformation (from merman to human and back), limited control of the water element. Can communicate through echolocation and telepathy as well as humanoid speech.

History:
Aeriphos was born into nobility and, as his father before him, inherited the title of Lord among his people. His rank among merfolk, as well as his noble blood, gave him the ability to change his form as he liked, enabling him to travel between land and sea. With access to considerable resources in the world above and below, he devoted all of his energy into ensuring that his ocean flourished.

Fifty years into his reign, he fell in love with a human, and after years of courtship on land, he took her as his bride and whisked her away to his underwater kingdom. They lived happily for years, during which time they became parents to three children. Tragically, she began to pine for her former life and eventually, she left the ocean to resume life as a human. This left Aeriphos brokenhearted, beginning a period of grief from which he recovered solely for the sake of his young.

Decades have passed since then. His children have grown and his heart has mended for the most part. He spends a bit less than half of his time in the human civilization above, both for personal and business pursuits. The latter sees him pouring his resources into ecological efforts, much of which focuses on ocean conservation. (This last detail depends on a modern setting and will vary if he's placed in a strictly fantasy world.)

Personality:
Aeriphos is, for the most part, a gentle creature, as well as a passionate one. When he loves, he loves hard, and he never gives anything less than his best. As the Lord of his people, he does his best to make himself approachable, but he has a hard time trusting others. The more he comes to care about someone, the harder it is. His heart is far from icy, but when it comes to personal matters, he plays things very close to the vest.

Settings:
Modern fantasy or fantasy.

Partner:
Aeriphos is a bit broken due to his first wife's abandonment of him and their children. He has had a few love affairs since, some with merfolk and others with landwalkers, but none serious enough for him to consider giving his heart away again.

His ideal partner is someone connected with nature, and someone who can be patient with him while he works through his trust issues.

IV. Katu
« Reply #4 on: November 15, 2013, 07:30:27 PM »
Name:
Katu

Age:
120+

Species:
Khaquir; a rare race with a knack for elemental-based magic.

Appearance:
Roughly 6'1". Wiry. Ivory skin decorated with tribal-like markings from head to toe. Red eyes. Ebony back-length hair. Long fingers tipped with black claws.

Orientation:
Homosexual. Switch.

Abilities:
Contortion, conjuring, various illusions.

History:
Born into poverty, Katu was his parents' third and last child. An unwanted one, at that. Thinner and frailer than his siblings, he wasn't able to contribute much to the family farm which led to many brutal beatings from both his father and mother, neither of whom bothered to hide their contempt of him. Worse yet, where his family possessed the Khaquir's natural ability to control the elements, he did not, which further alienated him from his kind.

To cope with his family's abuse, Katu withdrew into himself and discovered a host of magical abilities - not in elemental control, but in illusion. Thereafter, in his adolescence, Katu ran away and never looked back. After a long journey, he found himself in more modern, bustling cities, where he used his magic to his advantage as a street performer. His talents eventually landed him in the court of a Lord, from whom he earned a tidy living. It wasn't to last, however, for Katu's restlessness took him elsewhere, and he has traveled endlessly ever since.

Personality:
Overconfident and sometimes downright cocky, Katu has a knack for causing trouble. An unapologetic trickster, he never takes anything too seriously if he can help it. This is, however, due in large part to his troubled upbringing. Humor and recklessness are his coping methods in an unforgiving world.

Settings:
High fantasy or modern fantasy.

Partner:
Katu would thrive with one of two personality types. He either needs someone equally reckless, or someone very grounded.

V. Aexyr
« Reply #5 on: November 15, 2013, 07:30:40 PM »
Name:
Aexyr

Age:
213, appears 27.

Species:
Dark faerie.

Orientation:
Homosexual. Aggressive. Tends to dominate more often than not, simply due to a need for control, but would switch roles for the right person.

History:
Raised by a noble family of fae, Aexyr was the youngest and frailest of seven siblings. Throughout his youth, he suffered considerable abuse at the hands of his elder brothers and sisters, most notably due to his appearance. Sickly pale skin, spidery limbs, black hair, and piercing golden eyes set him apart from the rest of his kin, all of them fair-haired and green-eyed. It took the death of his mother, his sole protector in his childhood, to discover his true lineage as a dark faerie, a throwaway born to parents who had no desire to raise another child. Distraught, but thereby freed by the truth of his birth, Aexyr left his home and never returned.

Soon taken in by a powerful mage who saw potential in him, due in part to his darker lineage, Aexyr committed himself to learning the craft of magick. Fiercely devoted to the task, he trained to the point of exhaustion, using his powerful mind to compensate for, and eventually rebuild, his weak body. But learning spells, charms, and the art of potion-making was not enough. Aexyr strived to be the best by any means necessary. To that end, he took part in a dark, archaic ritual in which he willingly allowed himself to be blinded, sacrificing his eyes in exchange for the gift of sight - the ability to see into the past and future, albeit in a limited capacity. Ever since, Aexyr has made a name for himself as a powerful sorcerer, called upon by the wealthy to undertake various tasks needing magical enrichment.

Personality:
Aexyr never gives anything less than his best in any of his endeavors. On occasion, he can take things to extremes, but he does so with every intention of bettering himself. As such, he can be self-centered and even a touch egotistical. He never comes across as friendly. Some even think him evil, although he is far from it.

Likes:
Discipline, structure, books.

Dislikes:
Disorganization, being ordered about.

Settings:
Fantasy or high fantasy.

Partner:
Although Aexyr is exceedingly rigid and unyielding, his lover should be decidedly less so. He regards the flighty dreamers with some apprehension and derision, liking to think himself above them, but he is nonetheless fiercely attracted to those with their heads in the clouds, secretly envying the ability to be free and breathe.

VI. Kaliq
« Reply #6 on: November 15, 2013, 07:30:51 PM »
Name:
Kaliq. (The black-haired man in the image.)

Age:
981.

Species:
Angel, Order of the Seraphim.

Orientation:
Homosexual. Sexually aggressive. Dominant personality, but not always a top in bed.

Abilities:
A warrior through and through, Kaliq is skilled in both hand-to-hand and weapon-based combat, although he specializes in magic. He can channel his life energy into sharp psychic blasts that send his opponents flying, a talent which came naturally, but his most devastating powers were gained through more sinister means. When magic-wielding opponents lay dying, Kaliq possesses the unique ability to take their powers as they take their last breaths. Through this method, he has stolen the ability to summon and weaponize both lightning and fire.

History:
Born into a time of war, Kaliq was orphaned at an early age and took up an apprenticeship with a mercenary in order to stay alive. His training hardened him to such a degree that he learned to tune out such things as regret and remorse. Throughout his youth, he operated as a freelance mercenary on Earth, all the way up until his activities raised red flags in Heaven. At that point, the Celestial Army called upon him to operate in their black ops division, where absolutely anything goes, as long as he goes unnoticed.

Personality:
Handsome and well-bred, he represents the upper crust of the upper crust, the crème de la crème; everything an angel should be. But at his core, he isn't all that angelic. As a mercenary for Heaven's Army, Kaliq is as ruthless as he is efficient, and even a little psychotic. Trained at an early age to be a killer, he enjoys the hunt just a bit more than he should. He tends to lose control at the sight of blood, whereupon he usually recites a prayer in Latin to regain his composure.

Settings:
Modern fantasy, fantasy, or high fantasy.

Partner:
I'd like to see Kaliq paired up with someone who's a little twisted. He has very little interest in seducing and/or corrupting young, innocent virgins. He greatly prefers adult males who can match him in intellect and strength of will.

Ideally, I'd like to pair him with a non-human (but still humanoid) character. Kaliq brings a lot of edgy kinks with him, including but not limited to bloodplay. So pairing him up with a human character, one who is susceptible to severe injury if Kaliq goes a little crazy, isn't preferable.

VII. Greyson
Name:
Greyson/"Grey"

Species:
Chimera. Grey is a combination of a handful of creatures - among them: dragon, wolf, and Maltese tiger.

Age:
Unknown.

Orientation:
Homosexual. Grey is an overtly sexual creature with a fierce appetite that renders him, more often than not, sexually aggressive. He's a switch.

History:
Long ago, Grey was a perfectly normal human boy. He lived a quiet, average life with his family on their farm, tending to the animals, helping out in the fields. As he matured, he inadvertently drew the attention of a powerful sorcerer, one who saw potential in his physical beauty and spirited him away in the dead of night, never to be seen again. From that moment on, Grey endured horrific experiments under the dark magic practitioner, experiments meant to "perfect" his physical form by adding strains of various exotic animals from the farthest reaches of the region. Until, finally, Grey was no longer human, but a chimera - a human-animal hybrid.

With no memory of his former life, Grey only knows that he's different. With startling white skin, vibrant red markings, the paws of a cat, and the wings of a dragon, he no longer has a place in normal society. Instead, he lives on the outskirts of the region, among various forestfolk with no interest in his deformed state of being.

Personality:
Despite his startling appearance, Grey is an agreeable sort. Given the opportunity, he would make friends easily. That said, he doesn't trust others. He would sooner gouge out his own eyes than turn his back on a stranger - or even someone he knows fairly well.

Settings:
Fantasy, most likely.

Partner:
The species of his potential partner doesn't matter. He's more likely to find a non-human lover more attractive. (Humanoid is fine.)

VIII. Lord Azrael Malak'h
« Reply #8 on: June 23, 2014, 02:02:06 AM »
Name:
Lord Azrael Malak'h

Age:
228

Species:
Fire Elemental

Orientation:
Bisexual with a strong male preference.

History:
Azrael is the ruler of the Fire People in Khortaq, the Land of Fire. He is very well-composed, regal - and perpetually insane. Though he keeps it well-hidden to all save for his head mercenary, Carter Lockhart, to whom he entrusts his darkest secrets, Azrael has a split personality, a violent entity he refers to as "the Darkness." Left blind in his childhood after the trauma that birthed his second personality, he experiences sight only when under the control of the Darkness, but as the two possess completely separate fields of consciousness, he can never see the world for himself. This has not hindered him, however, from becoming an expert warrior, relying on heightened senses to guide himself in battle.

Personality:
Azrael tends not to reveal much about himself, and rare is the day when he grows close to another living being. Because strong negative emotions seem to provoke the monster inside of him, he suppresses all feeling where possible, save for the occasional indulgence.

Settings:
High fantasy.

Partner:
Azrael favors strong, confident individuals over those who are shy and withdrawn. His ideal lover is one who can tolerate his darkness and not crumble under pressure.

IX. Quint Rhys
« Reply #9 on: June 25, 2014, 01:03:32 AM »
Name:
Quint Rhys

Age:
29

Species:
Lycanthrope - Wolf

Orientation:
Gay, switch.

History:
Unlike werewolves who assume wolf form once a month during the full moon, Quint is able to shift between his human and animal form at will. Born into a large pack, he grew apart from his immediate family, in large part due to his homosexuality. Thereafter, he branched off from his pack and sought a life on his own. Much of his time is spent hard at work, usually in manual labor positions like construction or farming. Between jobs, he travels endlessly, usually sticking to slightly larger towns for fear of smaller communities that might spot his animal nature.

Personality:
Quint is slightly rough around the edges, but relatively down to earth and humble for the most part. It takes him a good long while to warm up to most people, but he has a generous streak a mile wide. He tries to be outgoing. Being rejected by his family for his sexuality, however, has left him somewhat jaded and guarded with his emotions.

Likes:
Cooking, traveling, hiking, snow, sketching, wine.

Dislikes:
Enclosed spaces, being late, milk, pretentiousness, intolerance.

Settings:
Modern fantasy.

Partner:
Quint be paired with nearly any personality type save for the overly shy and innocent sort.

X. Carson Ridley
« Reply #10 on: July 11, 2014, 02:48:49 AM »
Name:
Carson Ridley

Age:
31

Species:
Human

Orientation:
Bisexual with a strong male preference.

History:
A certified genius with an IQ of 187, Carson graduated from a California high school at the age of 12. Thereafter, he spent two years shuffled back and forth between his divorced parents before finally attending college on the east coast, and in the course of eleven years, he earned a Bachelors, a Masters, and two Doctorates. Constantly starved for knowledge, Carson always has his nose in a book, most of which he generally finishes within a day, and he tends to retain every scrap of information.

Personality:
Carson is painfully shy by nature and lacks social skills. He is often too analytical for his own good, and he greatly prefers to stay away from crowds. Likewise, he is incredibly awkward when it comes to matters of love. Beneath the awkwardness, he has a good heart. but he tends to express himself more clearly through gestures rather than words.

Likes:
Books, jazz music, bitter chocolate, cats, poetry, folding things (laundry relaxes him).

Dislikes:
Messiness, people who change the TV channel without warning, sweet wine, elevators.

Settings:
Modern.

Partner:
Carson desperately needs a partner with confidence. He is attracted to intelligence and although he isn't exactly holding out for another genius, he isn't likely to pursue a lover who doesn't read.
