Team Seven in the World of Arnor (sign up and OOC)

I'm looking to run my first multiplayer rp. The idea is an international team of mercenaries performing an illegal operation in the Amazon jungle is in a helicopter crash. When they land, they rapudly discover they are not where they were, or anywhere in Earth. They have fallen through a dimensional rift which has transported them to a fantasy realm. The rp will start with them appearing in a jungle like area but discover creatures supposedly mythological or dead for aeons live there. This, though, is only the start of their experience in the new world. They arrive with functional weapons but, of course, no way of replacing ammo, therefore the weapons are of very limited usefulness. With no knowledge about the world or how they ended up there they must either come to terms with their situation or find a way to escape it.

Players will, initially, play members of Team Seven, mercs from around the world of both genders. Over time, other characters may join them. Story will be more important than sex, though sex in all its myriad forms is likely to occur. The world is also dangerous. I do not guarantee indipvidual characters will survive, though if they do not opportunity will be presented for replacements. If you're interested pleae post below. With enough people I'll offer up the start up infor, character shert etc.

You know, when I read this title I thought it was a crossover between Image Comics and Lord of the Rings :)   (Team 7 was a black ops unit in the Imageverse whose members were instrumental in the formation of many of the superteams in the Image Universe, while Arnor was the Northern Kingdom companion to Gondor). Ah well...


Hmmm....would a former US Marine combat engineer with experience in Iraq come in handy for Team 7? I remember hearing that a fair number of the combat engineers assigned to the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan were involved in the upgrade of civilian infrastructure projects, so his experience with that sort of thing might come in handy in a low-tech world.

Thank you both, will keep looking for others too, but you are both welcome. Chaeronea, that character sounds lie he would be fine. Also, thank you for pointing out the name origins. Though I can't say I recognised them I'm guessing the title seemed to have such a strong ring to it as I'd heard both those things before. I may make that a working title then and rename it when we begin.

Thanks BadForm, glad my character sounds like he could do some good here. And don't worry about changing the title - the whole point of a title is to draw people in, isn't it? ;)

As for my character idea, I'll probably do some sort of recon person who incidentally happens to be pretty well-versed in flora and fauna (although who knows how helpful that will be on a foreign world). That, or a medic of some sort.

Sounds good, and if nothing else yiur knowledge should tell you you're "not in Kansas anymore, Toto!"

Assuming we have three interested players I'll wait for one more then get the basics up and a character sheet. I expect the sheet to be more descriptive than number based. I won't say there will never be rolls of any kind behind the scenes, but stat descriptions will mostly be used to give guidance on likelihood with story progression and role-play not rule- or roll-play being the guiding factors.

Heh, amusing. Ok, If you and lxy are in that's four which should be enough of a sign to start drawing things together. Will have startup stuff ready by end of weekend, possibly by end of tomorrow, though I do have a family commitment.
