Quentin 'Q' Alexander Ethnicity:
SinglePrevious (Or current) Profession:
Carpenter and Furniture Maker
Quentin is very particular about his appearance. He tends to dress for both comfort and style outside of work, but even his work clothes seem to come off as being somehow neat
regardless of how long he's been at it. He generally always sports well trimmed facial hair, though he can be convinced to go without on occasion.
Q is a quiet but fun loving man who believes actions always speak louder than words. Intensely private when it comes to personal matters, he can sometimes come across as arrogant or condescending but honestly all it takes is someone sitting down to actually have a conversation with him to find out just how far from the truth that really is. Speaking with him will also reveal that the man is exceptionally well read and educated despite not having gone for a fancy university degree. He believes strongly in family, duty, and honor above all else and is the sort of man who would never ask of another what he is not willing to do himself.
Q does have a relaxed side though, one capable of humor, warmth, and compassion, even some charm under the right circumstances. He flirts when it suits him and definitely enjoys a woman's company but he's not a hound by any means (despite what a few of his friends might say). Content to let others think of him what they will he moves about in comfortable silence and prefers to use his idle time working--whether that's on old homes in need of restoration, building new ones, making furniture, or simply carving a figurine it doesn't matter, he just doesn't like to be idle for too long. Background:
Quentin's childhood was pretty unremarkable over all--or maybe that's just how he sees it. His mother died while giving birth to him, leaving her son behind to be raised by his father who was only 18 at the time. Luckily for him, his father chose to step up and be a man, doing his best to raise his son with the help of his own parents and older sister. As a result, Quentin was surrounded by love and positive influences growing up. Things weren't always pretty but he and his father made due with what they had.
A two sport All-American in high school (basketball and baseball), Q used sports a means to keep his attention on the right sorts of things. Despite earning the attention of a number of college scouts though, Q decided that the four year college thing just wasn't for him. He'd hoped to go into the Air Force but his vision would have kept him from becoming a pilot which was what he had always dreamed of doing. Thankfully Q had a love of working with his hands passed down from his father and grandfather that he was able to turn into a career move and straight out of high school he went to trade school to learn carpentry.
Finding work after he completed his training and earned his certifications wasn't too difficult. Especially as he proved to have a good eye for design and detail work as well. After working like a fiend and saving, and even making some small investments and selling his furniture designs, Q managed to buy himself a plot of land on the outskirts of the city. His best friend just so happens to be an architect and helped him out with some plans and blueprints so for the last 2 years Q has been slowly building his dream house from the ground up.
Generally a pretty healthy guy, Q gets a flu shot every year like clockwork just as a precaution. He works hard and long and hates to miss work so the flu shot is simply a way to try and head off any lengthy illness. However, this shot seemed to be a little stronger than usual... Symptoms:
