Previously approved sheet and background now posted to the Character thread. Er, do we have an OOC thread besides the Character thread? I don't think we're supposed to keep using this thread in the "Wanted" section.

I think I had seen that background before, but nice your using it as it's quite nice :). As note you likely recognize quickly Adrian's accent; he is speaking like native Thayan and top of that he wears red robes! That should alarm you bit, although Adrian is former red wizard apprentice ;).

Yes, she's a modified version of a character I first applied in Calrond's original game, which sadly fell apart. I'm glad to see this new game of his getting so much more attention!

And despite her obviously trying to distort and hide them, her tattoos are VERY clearly of Thayan origin, but there's some really strange stuff going on in them. Very intricate, very high-level, some sort of binding of power and transmutation...There's no way SHE designed those.

Adrian would've probably only seen even vaguely similar symbols if he'd been looking through the library of a really high-ranking Red Wizard...As they are custom work by the Zulkir of Transmutation himself.

Well, Adrian's mentor was uncle who also happened to be red wizard responsible in running slave trade in Thaymount, so he was high ranked (not a zulkir though). With +19 spellcraft also Adrian may get idea what the runes are about (and know they are damn advanced stuff). But considering necromancy and enchantment are both forbidden schools he may know less than someone who haven't done so (but transmutation is not forbidden list).

Anyways, I think you can write your entrance in IC but remember Adrian's appearance+he wears thayan cut/styled red robes (and speaks Thayan accent and he has mulan thayan qualities although strongly femine). So mistake of Adrian's role/identity could be proper response :P.

Here's a link to the new OOC thread! http://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=189056.0

By all means, continue the conversations you're all having, but Carnival's right. Let's have them in our own thread rather than here on the Wanted forum.

Recruitment **REOPENED**

I've got 5 players at the moment, and I'm looking to take on up to 4 more. Read the first and second posts in this thread (way back on page one) as well as the In Character game thread to catch up on the setting and the story.

Post any questions about character creation here.

Hello, I have some questions for ya before I decide to cement my interest fully.

What is the treatment a Tiefling can expect in your campaign? I know Forgotten Realms general feelings, but every GM has tweaks or changes to racial attitudes, etc.

Are you enforcing LA on the Tiefling and Aasimar? I noticed you mention ECL, but I can't remember what it encompasses.

You make liberal mention of sex/sexuality and such, but I didn't see anything on the frequency of sex/sexuality in your campaign. Can you clarify as to the amount you want or do not want?

What is the post rate/speed of the game?

That's all I can think of to ask for the moment.

Tieflings are often met with distrust by other adventurers and fear from some townsfolk. People in larger cities are more likely to be accepting of people on an individual basis, but townsfolk from small villages are more likely to be hostile and scare easily. Of course, since the campaign takes place mainly in Waterdeep, and our last tiefling character didn't have a hard time, I wouldn't expect that the next one would either.

Yes, though if you want to use the lesser tiefling or lesser aasimar race, or use level adjustment buyoff, those options are fine too.

There will be as much or as little sex in the campaign as the players/characters want. Ultimately, they haven't had much down time since the campaign began, but the discussion about sexuality was mainly to get the characters as fully realized as possible before we started playing. The campaign won't revolve around sex, and since the problems the PCs have to solve are somewhat immediate, the opportunities for sex will really only be at brief periods of downtime.

The post rate of the game (when it's steady) is a DM post every few days (with luck, 2/week) with player posts in between. In combat, I try to get a post from everyone participating in the combat once per day (or 48 hours, as the case may be) so that we can move it forward quickly.

On the chance of sounding lazy, would you be willing to summarize what has gone on currently? 13 pages is a good amount to read through, especially with the quantity and quality I noticed as I perused the game thread. Reading via a computer screen is very hard my eyes for a prolonged period of time. If I split it up over days, then I think it will defeat the point of my interest probe into this game.

As for possible character idea, if I join, I am thinking Tiefling Thief/Cleric, but not sure if I want to mess with even +1 LA. I'll need to look into the lesser Tiefling and the LA buy off.

Essencially, and in a nutshell. The party was hired by the watch of Waterdeep to find out who has been setting fires to low income housing in the city, causing an increase in homeless, why homeless have been disappearing at a rate of about 20 a night without notice until after the fact and who's doing it.

The party went for a walk in the sewers, killed some wites, found a nest of them and went for help.

Then, meet again near the harbors to try to catch the arsonist. That's about what's happened in a nutshell. Condensed enough?

We're probably magic heavy and have a swashbuckler thief, but another thief wouldn't be amiss. as for race, I'll remain silent on that. ;)

I might want to get in on this.  Though aside from being magic heavy in terms of characters, what sort of distribution do you have on the other more weapon based classes?

Additionally, what is the gender distribution looking like?

My wizard is female looking but a male thayan wizard (conjurer/master specialist), we got eldricth knigth (more wizard build) with axe and got swashbuckler/rogue lass. Not sure of the rest what we got left. Overall it's more women than guys atm but we guys do not mind  O:)

So overall magic heavy nor there are any divine spellcasters, so you can make pure fighter type or war domain favoring deity cleric :). Or other cleric. But remember GM hinted a zombie apocalypse sort scenario :P.

I think I will be trying for this game, so I'd say my interest is solid now. I already have much of my characters Bio written up.

For the moment, I'm going for Cleric/Rogue, dominant Cleric. I really can't get into most of the other none-core classes in the game.

As for the aforementioned undead thing... my character won't be anti-undead, unless Calrond has some house ruling already in place. D&D rules as they stand, simply fail horribly in concern to Clerics dealing with undead. Turn, Rebuke, and Destroy undead as a mechanic doesn't work flat out. Undead simply have too much HD. Cleric's cannot hope to turn or rebuke, let alone come within a light year, of destroying any meaningful undead. Those they can, the party can smash easily without the need for the Cleric in the first place.

If feats are included they can make things interesting, but almost exclusively in favor of making/controlling undead which is evil (sighs). What little is good, is often not accessible since Cleric's have an abysmal number of feats.

The designers of 3.5 really botched that aspect of Cleric's. Even though they oddly trumped it up as one of the main roles for a Cleric.

There are rebuke/turn undead related feats in lots supplements, in one case it gives +2d6 to all weapon damage rolls vs undead. Some even enhance the undead destroying to be more efficient (or simply buff the party or yourself). Overall rebuke/turn undead became more as way 'channel divine energy' directly (instead of using spell formula).

Someone who can heal would be nice... and as always, a cleric could use healing spells on undead for that little extra bit.

You might think about a magical weapon with something useful against undead. My character has a mace of undead's bane, which while it doesn't do much, is something when you can't sneak attack them... I know that there's a feat that allows it, but I'm not familiar enough with the system to figure it out.

Single class rogues, like rangers, got seriously cheated in 3.5.

On a side note, we also have a half-giant mage in the party who's male. So, overall, I think that is the 5 remaining.

At the moment, I believe that gender distribution is 4 males (Voloke, Cail, Adrian, and Serge) to 1 female (Wren).

Divine spellcasters would be extremely helpful, and be sure to read what I wrote about clerical healing in the first two posts on page 1 of this thread. Additionally, pay attention to the House Rules because there's one that is important for anyone with Turn/Rebuke Undead and that makes it much more useful.

Gotcha.   In that case i might make a cleric but give me a day or so to think on it.

Aside from what has already been asked, i suppose the next best question is where do you see this rp going content wise? For example lots of undead slaying?  More intrigue and drama heavy?  Etc.

Oh, and are you all distributing loot or have plans to after some encounters?

I think (operative word there) that it was agreed upon that 10% of all loot, in gold piece value, would be placed into a party fund to assist in replacing, supplying or otherwise aiding the party with normal expenses while adventuring. In this way, one person can resupply the party, arrange for lodgings or get mounts, book voyages or transportation and replace damaged or used up items that are for the overall efficiency of the party. The remaining 90% is devided evenly among the party based on the gold piece value of items and who might find any magical items most useful among the party. As an example, if a magic wand would be best used by the thief, it goes to the thief and that is deducted from his/her part of the loot. If, on the other hand, it's decided that a ring would be most useful to the knight, then it goes to the knight and so on.

The tone is up in the air as we have only been in play for about 6 hours of game time and have so far killed only 4 wights and discovered a nest of some 40 more that was destroyed by the watch. No loot gadiscovered.

At the moment, about half of the group is inside a house of ill repute and the other half is in a shop acoss the street. It is believed that this building may be the next target for the arsonist.

@Siereis: Got a deity in mind yet? As for content, I do foresee a lot of undead slaying with a moderate amount of intrigue and drama, but I'm mainly focused on telling an interesting story rather than getting bogged down in endless combat.

I was wondering if the Paladin of Freedom or Champion of Gwynharwyf from Book of Exalted Deeds would be available? The paladin is a Chaotic Good Paladin who promotes freedom & liberty whilst the Champion is about the only angry, passionate barbarian paladin prestige class you'll find.

I have another idea or two - but these two classes aren't in your allowed list so I thought I'd ask before ruling them out. If it's more a social issue with either class, perhaps you could let me pitch a short idea before you say no? With all the divine diversity in Faerun, there is a lot of interesting concepts I can toy with when it comes to the more combative religious mentalities.
