A Different Type of Hovercraft
« on: August 31, 2013, 08:58:11 PM »
Hello [you], if you don't know me by now I'm Eliza and I have a genderswap thread swimming around here in the forums. I have come up with a new group roleplay that I feel may be too big to put on my genderswap thread. My inspiration came from watching the Matrix (the first one) late one night. I watched it paying close attention to the terms they use. Such terms include RSI, or Residual Self Image, and Self-Substantiation.

Using Genderswap as the theme, I want to make a group roleplay with the members of the Gemini, which is a hovercraft with a unique type of crew. Most members are redpills who have a mix-up with their Residual Self Image, where they may believe they are either a man or a woman in the Matrix, but in reality, they are quite the opposite.

I want to also include Zion-born crew members onboard the Gemini. At least one member of the crew must have freed him/herself from the Matrix through Self-Substantiation.

Gemini Crew:
Captain:
Operator:
Pilot:
Weapons Specialist:
Crew Member 1:
Crew Member 2:

The time setting could be canon or non-canon and Post-Neo Matrix.

Sorry if this post is too unorganized. I'll be fixing it up a bit as time and interest passes through.

Ha!

*stands up and combines the ol' mitts for a bit of applause*

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Someone find a bowling trophy and a crayon. I do believe the ol' Elizataur has earned a prize.

God, I'd almost forgotten that movie.

This sounds, as I said before, brilliant. I'm not sure if you have a character sheet in mind, but I have a character in mind I'd like to throw in the ring.

Captain Samuel Robinson

Age: 34
Occupation: Captain of the Gemini
History: After becoming aware of the Matrix (See below) And realizing that in fact he is not a stunning young manager rising on the corporate ladder, but in fact a battery and processor unit for some terrible machine, oh and male on top of that, Sam takes to the resistance with a vengeance. Being part of several successful raids on the machines in the reality, as well as numerous extractions of red pills, he quickly rises to a position of command, and is given control of the Gemini. He selects a group of people with the same condition (program error really) as he has, as he believes that will help them grow closer and more effective.

Miss Samantha Robinson

Age; 26
Occupation: Team manager customer service
History: Samantha, Sam to her friends had it all, a stellar career working for the world's biggest customer service provider, good looks, a nice house, a fleet of men she enjoyed her time with. Her life was perfect. That was, until one day she saw a man jump off an office building, shrug it off and walk on.

From that moment on, everything changed. She started seeing little flaws in the world. Objects that seemed to randomly shift or disappear without anyone to move them. light without source, or shadows cast by nothing. At first, she thought it was the stress of her job getting to her, but slowly she realized what she saw was real.

Then one day, she looked in the mirror, and saw a man staring back at her. A slightly older, male version of herself. The image came back several times, each time revealing a little more of the man's surroundings. He was in some kind of tank, surrounded by robots. Was she going crazy, or was there something wrong with the world?

One night she went to bed thinking about the flaws, the visions and the man, and when she fell asleep, she had very strange scary dreams of robots keeping her trapped to work as their battery. When she woke up, she found herself lying in the tank, with the robots around. As she looked at herself she noticed she had the hands and legs of a man. That's when the explosion hit.

I was simply trying to garner interest and put up a character sheet after getting some interested players. I'm liking your sheet. Can you tell me what the explosions are about, like in a PM?

Aww damn, I dun it again.

I'll leave the worst of it out but I way, way over shot in terms of concept and scope and now I think I'm ruined for this game. I'm out. I cannot and shall not subject other people to my pretentious bullshit 'till I've gotten it under control.

Sigh. This always happens when I take a break.

Still, super neat concept, I'll leave y'all to it and wish ya the best of luck.
