The game will be loosely based on the story concept of the I-Phone App Zombies, Run! and will be free-form and thread-based You will play the part of a survivor who has joined a small settlement. You will either play the part of a colonist with some sort of useful-for-survival skill that you can use for the betterment of the colony, or a Runner, whose job it is to run missions outside the colony to gather supplies and intelligence.

Examples of non-runner colonists would be things like Engineers, Electricians, Mechanics, Healers, Builders, Defense Specialists, etc. Basically what I'm looking for is something that justifies your usefulness and contribution to the tiny society the colony is trying to rebuild. That said, be creative. If you've ever seen a show that was on discovery channel called The Colony, you'll know what I mean. For example, A metal sculptor knows how to weld. A warehouse manager knows how to organize supplies. the point is, I want you to be able to rationalize the reason you have certain skills. If you can satisfactorily role-play it out, I'll generally allow it.

Those who are runners bear a huge responsibility too though. They are responsible for bringing in much needed supplies. They face constant danger to keep the colony connected to food and water and bandages and pretty much anything that could be useful back at base. They've got to be fast, quiet and have a brave sense of ingenuity to keep themselves out of harm's way.


Some rules and things to note:

1.) If you have a problem, or even just a question, I encourage you to PM me or ask in the OOC. As an extension to this, make sure to communicate and collaborate with fellow players.

2.) Keep it real. Someone who has done office work for 20 years is not going to suddenly know how to knife-fight. Rationalization of your skills will make the story more engaging. This is role play, so please think carefully about how your role would permit you to act. If your character does something stupid, there are likely to be consequences - and in the unforgiving world of the apocalypse, they're likely to be harsh. Except in cases of Rule#3  below, PCs will not be killed without their consent.

3.) If you drop out of the game, or after two weeks fail to make a post or notify us of an absence in OOC, I will kill off your character. It might seem harsh, but I have my reasons - ultimately I think it will make for an engaging and dramatic story. By submitting a character for this game your agreement is implicit. I'm happy to elaborate on my reasons for this if anyone is curious. Just ask.

4.) Enjoy yourself, and let me know if there's something that preventing you from enjoyment! For example: If you grow tired of a character, let me know. It's easy enough to justify killing them off and starting a new one. Am I obsessed with killing off characters? Maybe. I do feel a certain kinship with Joss Whedon...


If after all that you're still interested, here are the story basics:

Setting:
Northeastern US City. Not huge, but still a city. Expect forested hills and mountains, lakes and rivers, and four seasons.

Time-frame:
3 years after Z day. Just getting into Summertime.

Enemies:
You'll be dealing with fast zombies, saliva to blood or blood to blood transmission, and a short (<6hour) turning time. You'll also have to deal with basic human survival. Major utilities are gone. Major roadways are choked with abandoned vehicles, gasoline is getting scarce. That sort of thing.

Additional info:
Your story will start differently depending on whether or not you start as an established colony member or not. I'd like to do personalized introductions for everyone, really.

I am new to E and I will be Co-GM for this new group Rp this was an idea that was previously someone elses but had to back out. I and a few others really wanted to keep this rp alive so we are attempting to kick things off.

Personality:Akiko is a very hardworking but fun loving person while in a non-serious situation. She is very loyal, headstrong and self-confident due to her upbringing as well as the discipline she earned through her many years of practicing martial arts. Despite her strict upbringing she was always a happy-go-lucky person wanting to brighten up the world. However once she stepped into the ring or is forced to deal with a serious situation she becomes cold, calm and analytical. When she becomes serious it is as if she becomes a different person though it is her training kicking in to help her and her attempt to protect her sanity.

Hobbies/Skills:Self defense:Karate (Black belt), Wushu (Expert), Muay Thai (Expert), Jiu-Jitsu (Expert). Great reflexes and speed. Able to run long distances without stopping. Used to hard work/labor. Loves the outdoors hiking, fishing and camping (not hunting). Knowledge of living off the land. Loves to read and knows how to cook/run a household.

Weaknesses:Has a hard time letting people in. Devastated at the loss of her entire family and keeps busy so that her mind does not dwell on the darker thoughts that are always on her mind. Does not do well alone, her negative thoughts swarm her. Has night terrors.

Fears: Being alone, separated from others. Being the last one alive and failing to save her loved ones and her friends. (Including people who are depending on her)

History: Akiko was the eldest daughter in her family with a total of 3 siblings. She was born and raised in Colorado Springs. Her father began her martial arts training when she turned 7 and through his teachings and various other instructors she sharpened her natural fighting ability and was the proud jewel of her father. However while Akiko loved martial arts she had other interests in her life. Namely the great outdoors and book.s while she training her body to become a deadly weapon her grandfather helped her other interests grow. He took her and her siblings out into the woods or the river and taught them how to fish and how beautiful nature was. Often times he would take them for long walks and have them set up camp in some remote part of the woods in their backyard telling them ghost stories and various legends. Akiko loved her family and friends and it was with this balanced life that she was able to go on and attempt to become a professional MMA female fighter.

She cut through the competition extremely well. When the outbreak happened she was the Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, ranked first female Atomweight and ranked 10th for pound for pound female MMA fighter worldwide. She was away preparing for a scheduled fight when all hell broke loose. Only the combination of her skills, wits, and the death of her manager who selflessly gave his life holding back a quickly crumbling door with a bunch of undead on the other side. It tore her heart but he had already been bitten and they had both seen enough zombie movies to suspect that this was it for him. Still as she carved her way back home in the ensuing chaos she saw how desperate the situation was and when she arrived home she was horrified and traumatized as she was forced to kill her own family as they had turned. As she wandered off aimlessly drifting she was picked up by a rather large group. It went well for a while until slowly but surely their numbers dwindled more and more until finally as they searched a small city they were ambushed and she became the sole survivor finally stumbling onto a newly created colony hoping they would take her in.

I carried this over from our last game so I am not yet sure if all of these people are 100% coming back but a few names I see showed interest in picking the game up with me. Jobs will stay the same though pm for any details/changes/ideas. Character Name: Benedict Hawkes

Prior Occupation: Theatre Student (specifically, he's far better at dancing and acting than he is at singing)

Personality: One of the most apparently well-adjusted apocalyptic survivors, Benedict is generally a cheerful, funny guy. Admittedly his jokes can be a bit on the poorly-placed side, and more than once has he had to explain a Shakespeare reference he thought was funny, but at least he's trying to be upbeat. His fight-or-flight response is wired to almost always point to flight, which has served him well in the apocalypse. Benedict's a bit of a coward, all told.

Hobbies/Skills: Benedict is very fond of Shakespeare, and has made it a personal goal to scavenge a full collection of all of his writing; additionally, he was something of a horror aficionado before the zombie outbreak, and is well-versed in general horror geek-dom. He also is a gifted liar and possesses a fantastic poker face, both of which he claims stem from being an actor, being paid to pretend to be someone else and keep a straight face. He doesn't have a bad singing voice, but often was made a chorus member and a dancer. He's certainly good at that, though, and still maintains dancing shape through a bit of that, but a lot of running. There are zombies to avoid, after all.

Weaknesses: All of his combat training amounts to stage combat and half-drunk fistfighting advice given shortly before he got a very nasty black eye. Benedict can't fight to save his life. Additionally, his usual defense mechanism to keep bad feelings at bay is with humor, even if that humor is very inappropriately placed; suffice to say he cracked jokes at his grandfather's funeral when he was a child.

Fears: Benedict is afraid of a few things. Spiders rank right up there to the point of violent and/or crippling arachnophobia, and he's generally kind of a coward. It helps him with tasks as a Runner, but that's about it; threatening him isn't particularly difficult.

History: Put simply, Benedict's led a pretty cushy life. The upper end of the middle class treated him well as a kid, his acting abilities got him a pretty big scholarship to an arts college for acting and dancing, and money has never been a huge concern for him.

Although he got a bit of a shock when, a few weeks after his twentieth birthday, his girlfriend tried to bite him. Admittedly, there wasn't anything wrong with that ordinarily, but this biting was the "moan and groan and consume your flesh" kind of bite, not the "moan and groan and let's go find the nearest flat surface" kind of bite. He scarcely avoided joining her as a zombie before running, just flat-out running for his car. With some kind of knowledge of what to do (being something of a geek, he was zombie-literate), he drove out into the countryside with his backseat and trunk piled up with as many medical supplies and cans of baked beans it could accomodate. He parked in a big empty field, and lived there for a while.

He lived pretty comfortably out there, occasionally moving around or breaking into an abandoned house to scrounge for more food, until the day came when, as his luck would have it, not only did a group of zombies show up, but he realized that the only way to really avoid this group, which was a pretty solid wave pushing in from the countryside, was to return to the city. Ditching his car when the big pileups started to appear, he ran and ran and ran. Hell, he's still running, still trying to find some kind of civilization. Hey, he's still got two cans of baked beans and a copy of Much Ado About Nothing in his backpack. That's gotta count for something, right?

Physical Description: Martain is tall and broad, standing six foot four, with  short black hair styled back in a military cut. He wears thin, wire frame glasses that are bent and scratched, and sit crooked on his face. The key word about this man is big. Big hands big feet,  both of which are in-proportionate to his already large frame. His face is hard, with an almost neolithic brow a wide nose, and a square jaw accented by the well trimmed beard (thanks to his trusty clippers) framing his jaw bone. At first glance this man might have walked out of the caveman exhibit of the local museum. Further details might dissuade that notion a bit. He usually wears a light blue polo shirt, collar turned up, khaki dress pants, and steel toed boots that look like they could use a really good polish. There is hair on his hands, knuckles, (and toes!) but this seems to be well kept and groomed as well. He keeps his teeth white, keeping his brush and a bottle of toothpaste (which is odd, but I'm assuming its not one of the supplies that would be running out, hygene usually takes a back seat in this kind of setting) on him at all times. Finally, to top off his outfit, he carries a wooden baseball bat, and an antique revolver at his hip, both of which have seen better days
Prior Occupation: Insurance salesman
Personality: Quirky, to say the least. Keeps himself as clean and well kept as humanly possible. And greets everyone with his 'I want to sell you something smile' comes off as charismatic, but really is just well versed and loves people. The end of the world hasn't broken this mans optimism, yet. He has a bit of a hulk complex, as in he is very strong, but always does everything with the bare minimum of force. When he gets angry he often loses control, and often hurts people more than he means to. (Shoving, pushing them away etc.). He can go from very hyper to serious in no time, but tries to stay calm and casual. He often apologizes as he smashes in the heads of zombies. He is friendly, and loves people, and kids and animals. This is not to say he will not do what needs to be done. If he sees a need, he will do what he must, without hesitation.
Hobbies/Skills: Baseball, Hiking, reading, can give a good motivational speech once in a while but tends to have it flop. Is very quiet for a big man, often surprising those he is around.
Fears: People larger than him, blades, getting angry, hurting someone
Weaknesses: Blind as a bat without his glasses, cannot see more than ten feet infront of him at any time. His big fingers make it hard to do any delicate work (picking locks etc.) and can even make his gun misfire if he's not careful, which tends to make him too careful. His size makes it difficult to hide, so usually relies on silence and speed to get from place to place.
History: As you may imagine, Martin was quite the...interesting Life insurance salesman. Most people were intimidated by him, initially, and he remained completely oblivious. Martin spent most of his pre-Z days Hiking, Jogging, and playing baseball for the company team on the weekends. Often, his coworkers found him hilarious to look at, like a pro wrestler stuffed inside a business suit, and being ever the optimist, Martin took it to heart. During the initial phase of the outbreak, Martin was out, hiking, on a two week trip to the top of a local mountain. He encountered his first zombie at the park rest stop, where he had left his car. After scolding and warning the person to stay away didn't work, and after finding a corpse as he ran from the thing, he got back to his car (somehow, he doesn't even remember the specifics, though it involved a lot of jumping and acrobatics he wasn't quite sure he could do. He found his trusty ball bat, which was promptly bitten by the creature, and he used the bat as leverage to smash its head into the concrete.   
After returning home, and finding several of the shambling, vicious creatures roaming about the countryside, he decided it was best to lay low for a while. Being an avid hiker and survivalist, he had rations, trail mix, and various camp goods. He also kept a gun, it was old, a war trophy his grandfather had left to him. He stayed down in his basement, barricading against noise, and zombies, until he ran out of food. He moved up into the mountains after that, knowing how to survive for long periods at a time on what he could scavenge. This time made him leaner, though he always did his best to keep himself looking pristine. After two years in the hills, he spotted a hoard of zombies that looked like it was heading his way, and he decided to move on into the city, which was the opposite direction from them. The huge man making quite a sight in his Khaki's and sweater-vest, strolling around the center of town without a sound, looking for his new hiding spot.

Personality: At heart he's an honest hardworking decent kid .He's compassionate fun loving with a strong installed belief in duty and responsibility

Hobbies/Skills:Grew up on a mixed horticulture farm,in New Zealand , knows how to grow and care for a raft of grown food , has some carpentry skills (would be equal to an advanced apprentice) capable of driving heavy vehicles from tractor to big rig . Knows how to shear sheep (unskilled as in slow but could manage a small herd in his own) Can Milk cows. Has the number eight wire attitude kiwis have (easiest way to explain ....that is the ability to complete jobs with limited equipment..somehow) Is a very good shot with a rifle. He also knows how to make alcohol
Fears Wasps and by extension bees (as a child he was told wasps don't die when they sting but 'heard' wasps kill you when they sting and even thou he's aware of the correct info it still freaks him out.
Being truly alone.
Weaknesses:
 At the start of the outbreak Connor was a mess of emotions , being a teenager in a foreign land not even sure if his country totally escaped the outbreak caused him to be angry one minute reckless the next , now while his moods are less frequent he's become, if anything more reckless.

History: The third son and fifth child in a family of six kids Connor Grew up on a New Zealand farm , a good student and good at sports even if he chose two sports his rugby union family had never played , football(soccer)and Rugby League. His parents wanted him to go to University but he'd always planned to join the army. His parents suggested a gap year , go out see the world then decide his future path.

Connor was just outside New York in a tour bus with thirty others all under 30 when traffic simply stopped, having been on what was effectively a party bus driving from LA to New York no one was aware of the growing problem until that point , when cars leaving New York started to be abandoned and locals explaining why the initial attitude of the young travellers was ...'Zombies..yeah right way too much Hollywood guys'...that attitude changed when the sounds of screams and panic reached the tour group and they joined the fleeing mass..at least Connor assumed they all did, by days end only two of the group was with him thou they were part of a larger thirty person group. That group split the following day when they found abandoned cars on a clear part of road .

 A week later Connor found himself alone in a small city , it had been a risk to come into the city but he'd bowed to local knowledge , well local knowledge died an hour earlier along with hot babe , that's when he encountered another group of survivors.

This colony will have been put together for 3 years now. People is being hashed out I want a number of characters first before I then make a default number though it will be fairly large. On the image map we will include the land around the church and the church itself. It will now be well-established and orderly though the first year will have been hell and hard on the people but those in charge learned. I will have a figure head leader and a council of sorts that will be giving out the orders and such.

Mechanic in her fathers shop.
Personality:
Several years ago most people would say that Elena was well adjusted and happy. She may have not have been the most popular girl in school. But it never really mattered to her. She was a social chameleon; her basic idea was if you were good to her she'd be good to you. Most always the tomboy, never backing down from a challenge. And never one to take crap from anyone, she was even known to stand up for someone that tried to give people crap.

    But something changed about four years ago. Only a select few even know that mother past away. But that wasn't the whole story, whatever it was changed her. She pulled away from people, became the social outcast. Got into fights, and let her grades dropped. She is still a smart ass, and has been known to give her teachers a run for their money when it came to a battle of wits. She puts up a strong front and never admits to any pain. Stubborn to no end though sometimes that works against her. She is known for not doing her work, but oddly enough when asked to answer a question in class she can. It bugs the teachers to know end, which only makes her laugh.

The few friends she still has say she is fun loving and free spirited. She tends to be a great listener and for the most part is good at fixing and helping them out. Though they worry about her, her addictions, the bruises. But she always just shrugs it off and never really lets them know what is going on. Seems she is willing to help everyone else out, but not willing to let them get close enough to help her. 
Hobbies/Skills:

Extremely intelligent.
Elena has been tested more then once growing up. And she is actually incredibly intelligent. Specially when it comes to technology or cars. But do to her home life and drugs she is what most would say a wasted youth. Teachers having given up on her a while ago.

Gear head
If it has an engine she can fix it, or get it running no matter the condition. Add some wheels and she can drive the hell out of it.

Engineering
Elena has found a way to expand her skills to try and bring a few modern things back. Trying to work with what they have to create the things they need to live.

Music
Music is what keeps her sane and centered. Before her mom died she was teaching Elena how to play the piano,and she became rather good at it. But once her mom died there went her teacher. She also has an amazing voice, though she doesn't really share it much anymore.



Weaknesses:
Lingering addictions:
Elena still has a lingering addiction, the whole end of the world thing made it difficult to truly keep up her habit. So she was forced to go through detox, now clean...for the most part. She still has some lingering cravings, but has found things to distract her and keep her mind off of what Elena knows she should never do again.

Temper:
Elena has had it hard and due to that she has grown a harder outer shell. It is hard to crack and she tends to buck up and bite back when someone really pushes her buttons.

History:
Elena Josephine Evens was born to Joseph Evens and Mari Evens. A young couple with hopes and dreams for their little girl. Her father took over her shop his father left to him. Her mother running the front office for him. And she grew up in a mostly happy house hold. Her father had a temper, but for the most part her mother had a handle on it. Keeping Elena from catching the brunt of it and being a balancing influence for her husband.

Elena grew up being a tomboy, the type of girl never afraid to get dirty. Which meant she was always getting into the engines with her father. Learning how things worked and how to fix or make them better. At the age of 10 she knew how to dismantle an engine block like it was second nature. Her mother showed her how to work the computers in the offices. And for some reason Elena understood them even better than her own mother did. It's kind of sad when you have to ask your own kid in to fix the computer you're supposed to be using.

Everything stayed like that till she had just turned 15, and her mother died. She hadn't even known her mother was sick. Her parents wanted to hide it from her. So when she finally got brought to the hospital just to watch her die she said good bye and broke. Yelling and screaming at everyone around her. She actually ran away for a little over a week. By the time she went back home Elena found her father already drunk. Starting to fall down the spiraling downfall he went down when he lost the love of his life.

From then on out things changed, her father became an abusive alcoholic. She started showing up to school wearing more layers or sunglasses to hide her bruises. Working at the shop to try and keep up the slack of her father. He would be passed out in his office while she worked on the cars they had in the shop. Eventually everything just got too much. Her grades slipped and she turned to drinking and drugs. The numbing it provided helped her cope with everything that was coming down on her. She spent years falling further and further down a hole Elena never thought she would get out of.

It was then that her choice was taken away, it really happened...the fucking end of the world. And she had no choice but to either give up and die, or sober up and fight back. No matter how hard it was Elena was near ready to die. So she fought with every last thing she had. Weeks passed on and somehow she found herself not only surviving the fights, the running, but also detox as well. It seemed she was tougher then anyone would give her credit for. Soon she found herself coming across other survivors.

And eventually she found herself making a home in what seemed to be the last standing colony of the dying world. Elena found herself able to use her skills to help those around her. She became a mechanic, engineer, and all around modern day Misses fix it. Finding ways to rebuild, and to get things like water to the colony as well. For a while she was even a runner, one of the best know for her record of always getting back with her team in tow. But there was one day that only she returned. Only a few know what happened, and from then on Elena didn't go out. Only when they were in drastic need, or after someone that was lost did she ever sign up for a run. No one knows why she takes those runs, but they still give her respect for it.

Now a days she lives and does her best, always working hard to keep making life as they know it better. Now she 9 months after it all happened, Elena works to simply try and find a life.

Yes she can have her own little building. We can say she created her own shop out of something or other or just use and existing building whatever makes you happier.

It is all up to the players if anything we could have budding friendships since we will have had "other" people helping runners partners that died off since our characters have first joined or something like that. Also I have changed the time frame I swear I changed it guess it didn't save it...idk but I am sorry. Also I will be adding one more additional note after I speak with my co-gm partner. I will inform you all when I add it on. Please forgive me I am new to being a Gm but I promise I am not new to roleplaying. Hmmm if possible I would like help with two things


If someone can find a good picture of map of sorts for our "City" and if you can find a good picture of a zombie fortified settlement/colony thingy. If its a good one maybe just a picture of one building and we will say we had everyone work real hard and listen to the advice to engineers, mechanics, inventors and construction people to build our colony with a bunch of whatever picture you find maybe a few additional buildings as well and people have their own added features and such. If anything we can just write out a real detailed post of what it looks like and we can kinda describe our own character's current living quarters.

Personality: Ryan is an optimistic person. Even though the world has gone to hell in a hand basket, she tries to make light of the troubles and laugh whenever possible. Ryan's greatest fear is to turn into a zombie and kill an innocent person. She'd rather be killed than turn into one of those monsters. Ryan was agnostic before Z day, after it she became an atheist. Ryan is in favor of democracy, but hates when the majority are against something she likes, she is a sore loser.  Ryan used to be sexually active before Z Day, after Z Day, not so much. While Ryan would never kill a human being, she doesn't fret when it comes to killing zombies.
Hobbies/Skills: Fishing, painting, card Games. Skills (She is a doctor). Also she has good aim.

 Weaknesses: Sore loser. Can be too sarcastic. Has a bad temper. Not the best with hacking or stabbing zombies, but she is working on it.

Background: Ryan was raised in a stable family with a father, and two brothers. Her father is an accountant and provided for the family without the mother growing up. He might have worked often and neglected school events, but he was a loving father figure. Ryan is the oldest of her siblings. The youngest Tyrell was in college, and the middle child Marcus, was a restaurant owner. Ryan did not have many friends at work, but she treated everyone fairly. Her best friend Michelle is married to her brother Marcus. They have two children. Ryan does not have any interest in raising children right now due to the world going to shit. Ryan was separated from her family some time ago. She has no idea where they are or if they are alive.

Ello all! I am your second, more so back seat GM, so give Vixen the credit please!!!

I will have a character running in this Role Play as well as GMing it, anyone with concerns or questions PM Vixen or myself please :)

as for the setting I hope we all don't see it as a comfy lifestyle.

Think more Woodberry from walking dead or Charlestown from falling skies.  Think the world has ended and millions, no billions have died, and you all are the lucky ones not to die yet! This town is your recent salvations (this is till the heard of undead take it over) and your mission is to be an active part in this society.  Now not everyone is expected to be a runner, however Runners will slightly be the main focus, atleast that is what I am thinking unless Vixen has an alternate idea for it.  This does not mean that non-runners are any less important, your focus in this story will lie else were, cause as we runners are out and about, you are what is left the town, to defend it against....well things ;)

If everyone is willing, id like for everyone to add a Fears sections to their character sheet, it'll add depth that Vixen and I can possibly play off of to make this more entertaining.

Mayline is an average 5'5 with a small but toned build.

Personality: Easy-going, curious, creative and flighty, Mayline was a jack of all trades, master of none.  Constantly on the look for new things to engage her, she had many hobbies.  The few things she really, truly got fantastic at were painting and carpentry, as that was directly related to her career path.
Dedicated, loyal, and with a great eye for detail, she's been been very useful to the colony, constantly looking for things to do to keep things running smoothly.  However, Mayline has never been one to lead.  She's happy to play support to more assertive and ambitious figures she believes in.
Always optimistic and ridiculously hard to upset, she's a favourite of children within the colony.  It doesn't hurt that she can draw cute drawings in the dirt for them, or never gets tired of playing with them.
However, behind her sweet smile, she is a chaotic neutral at heart with a no-nonsese policy that only became even more rigid after the zombie outbreak.  She is one of those people that can put a bullet between the eyes of an infected, unturned friend without flinching if it meant saving herself. 

Hobbies/Skills: Advanced levels in painting, sculpting, carpentry, bashing skulls in, and deceit.  Good know-how in baking and pole dancing.  Basic knowledge of parkour, electrical work and pottery.  She's no thee best runner and the colony, but parkour and pole dancing have kept her in very good, flexible shape.

Weaknesses: Fire arms, and true sacrifice.

Fears: Large blades, anarchy, raiders and outside gangs, and rabid animals.

Equipment:
Non-Running: A small hammer collection, a saw, swiss-army knife, assorted kinds of tape (electrical, duct, etc.), assorted sizes and kinds of wood (reserved for splints and other various things), a small reserve of nylon.
Running: Crowbar, binoculars, lighter, hairspray, elbow pads, knee pads, and a backpack.

Misc items: All sorts of scavenged books, pens, and other writing materials, and house keys.

History: Mayline grew up in an upper-middle class family in the Philippines.  She had a very happy family consisting of two brothers and great parents.  The Philippines was there she grew up, and went to college to get her undergrad.
She came to the states to start on her Masters Degree, but just as she came to the states, the outbreak happened.  Not having any friends or much of a life in her temporary home, Mayline barely left her apartment.  In fact, she may have been a day or two late at finding out about it if she hadn't looked out the window that day.  From her window Mayline saw a neighbour being bitten from five floors up.  She switched on the news immediately and saw the reports.  Mayline wasted no time fortifying her apartment against future raiders.  After she called her family to alert them of the situation. 
Mayline listened and was alert.  Every time she heard a neighbour pack up and leave she would cautiously leave her sanctuary and take whatever she found useful in their apartment, and there were many of idiots like that for the first few days, who left some food, useful chemicals, thinking they could take shelter at malls or supermarkets somewhere.
Soon, combined with her own fully stocked kitchen, she was set for the next few months at least.  To pass the time she would either call her family to check up on them.  By then her family was fairly wealthy, with good security and other things.  Plus being in another country, they were slightly better off than the states, getting a warning ahead of time.  As of yet there was no sign of the infection reaching the Philippines. 
Another way she kept busy was by pole dancing and jumprope to keep fit.  Every other day she would skulk around her floor, taking down the odd zombie to keep her environment as safe as possible.  She followed the news, but online.  No loud noises came from her apartment, and at night she kept no lights on.

Mayline camped out in her apartment for less than a week when she had to kill her first raiders.  It was a group of three men, looking for resources.  Thinking the building was abandoned, they were going through the whole place, looking for food.  They tried picked her lock, but the bolds and barricade  kept them at bay.  Instead of giving up, they tried to break in, which Mayline took as a bad sign.
Armed with her trusty hammer, a can of fixative and a lighter, she quietly took the barricade apart and readied her make-shift  flame thrower.  As soon as they busted down the door, she took the men down in no time.
Fearing that corpses may attract more zombies she didn't hesitate to toss the carcasses down the elevator shaft.
And that was basically Mayline's life for the next six months.  In the middle of that time Mayline had lost all contact with her family, one other event that had hardened her heart. 
From her window, Mayline continued to watch the masses of dead grow bigger in the streets below.

After her food started dwindling, Maylene decided it was time to move on.  She packed light (rations, her hammer, lighter, a crowbar), and moved from rooftop to rooftop.  From her vantage point she immediately saw the start of a colony and wasted no time in heading towards them.
In return for them letting her in she promised her services and everything useful she had left in her apartment and the building (such as a bit of gas from the ovens, all her building materials like nails and wood from her strainers, her roll of canvas for clothes and dressings, and other things).  They immediately let her in, and she's been there ever since.

          Fear of heights - He has never been comfortable with them, and never may be.
          Fear of being left alone - His worst nightmare is that he gets stranded outside of the colony, alone and surrounded by innumerable zombies.

History: Adrian lived a pretty normal life up to college. Wasn't too rich, wasn't too poor. He liked to cook as a hobby ever since his mom had taken him to that cooking class with her. He even grew some vegetables in their backyard to do some true homemade cooking. He went to college and was studying to become a doctor, which would lead to nice life as a privileged citizen. However, things got hard, and he found that he didn't particularly want to become a doctor either. He panicked, knowing that if he didn't do something now, he would be stuck with his decision for the rest of his life.

And so he dropped out of medical school and joined a culinary school. He certified himself as an paramedic and used that to support himself as a side-job while he studied. Within a few years, he had graduated culinary school and had a job at a nice restaurant. A few years later, and he was at a downright fancy restaurant. A few months before Z Day, he was thinking about opening his own restaurant!

Of course, with Z Day all of those plans disappeared. Survival was the only thing left. Luckily, he lived near where the settlement was, and he had enough skills to be valuable in the colony. And so he had managed to stick around, surviving with the rest of the colony.

Just add how he is good with a bow or a gun unless this is going to come out during a post but other than that he is accepted and I think we will close with him as our last cast member. Please everyone check my post that has out cast and tell me if I forgot anyone or if I labled your job wrong.  1 more female to balance things out.
