Can I start a world in a R.P. setting and make it so People can see it but have to ask for a password or something to get invited to it. also in there a way in one thread to have multiple locations or would it have to be multiple threads linked in some way.

The general rule of thumb here is that unless a game is specified as 'Open', it is invite-only (usually through a request thread).  If you are doing a group game, you are allowed two threads per person, that you can use for whatever purposes you like (OOC thread, Character Sheets, other locations, etc.)
