PMs Being Eaten

I was moving some PMs from one folder into another to consolidate and after I deleted the empty folder everything that was in that folder (which should have been in the new one by then as the old one was confirmed as empty) was gone. Eaten.  As was another load of PMs another folder that I wasn't even moving around (that folder is still there but empty now).

Its no huge deal as I confirmed with others that they have the info I lost, but I thought I should bring it up here.  I dunno if its something I did or if the PM gremlin got hungry and just decided to nom on my stuff.

Do you have your PMs in conversation view? It's known to be problematic for deleting. Actually, so is deleting folders. =/

Yeah I have it in conversation view :/

I thought there was an issue before about deleting or adding or some such but thought that had been fixed. I reckon it hasn't!  :-[

Ah well.. I'll be leaving things as is. I'm just glad I didn't lose the majorly important stuff I couldn't get back.

I've had this issue before, and Veks was able to restore what had gone missing. He might be able to help you?

To clarify: everything was restored, and then I had to delete things again...more carefully this time.

Deleting pms in conversation mode is supposed to be fixed.

Deleting labels is a fundamentally dangerous operation as there is no normalization to them.

I have tried to warn people repeatedly about this, but whatever you do, never, ever delete a label. Renaming should be fine, but deleting is a very bad idea.
