Quick Coding Question
« on: April 19, 2013, 08:51:13 am »
So, I'm just getting back into the groove of things here after a long hiatus.  Looking through all the post and adds, I see everyone using these great coding on them which has me jealous.  I've been looking over the coding tutorial.  But one thing I didn't see covered is on some of the ads for games, when you go in it will display your user id.  How is this done?  So, if I go on a 'Jill J' page, it will display Hi Kakihara..... I don't see anything on the coding page that mentions how this is done.

Thanks.

That would be the

Code: [Select]
[you]
code.

I would suggest being careful in how you use it as it can cause confusion.

The topic from when it was first included is here

As a helpful tip if there's a bit of coding you're interested in, quote the message containing it; the code will appear in your reply box and you can examine/borrow it from there.

Thank you both for the info and the tip.  I'll have to remember this for any other coding I come across in my browsing.  I didn't realize the quote feature would show the coding.

The quote feature shows the post as it was originally composed and constructed by the author including all coding and linkage.
