The theme of the game is both survival and power struggles. Something that wants to bring your character down or even have them for a meal could be lurking at any corner, and many factions are vying for power, prestige, and control. The world of a Little Glass Vial is a dark and gritty place, so the tone should stay within those confines but can vary into sardonic humor.
The Fall: refers to humanity's fall into disorder and anarchy due to chems. No set date or time is actually known
Lumonia: A designer chem that helped Lumonite Inc. corner the market. It effects vary but the most common are: glowing purple veins after injection, euphoria, paranoia, loss of appetite, unpredictable behavior, mood swings, tremors, hallucinations, paranoia, ect. The drug is fatal in high does and long term use often results in death.
Purple Honey: A street name for Lumonia
Hubs: Scattered settlements that are often under the control of one faction or another, although some still remain independent. They usually contain makeshift shelters, markets, and pubs. Most have some form of hierarchy but some are under forced gang control. A hub can consist of one building while the larger ones can span a whole block. Tolls are usually required to gain entrance.
Lumonite Inc.: A large corporation that is often blamed for the Fall. They are currently still in operation and are the last of the large chem producers since they took out most of their competition with brute force and cunning ingenuity. They mostly care about nothing but their cash flow and their own. Skinjobs, addicts, and robots are used as force slave labor within their hubs and factories while Cannibals are shot upon detection. They are controlled by the sole entity of the Lumonite family. Their hubs are only open to employees and faction members. Wanders are allowed to stick around provided they work or pay heavily for their stay. Trouble makers are brought before the Lumonite family head and often sentenced to death.
Humanity's Stand: Humanity's Stand(HS), is a group of chem free humans that advocate a life of sobriety and prosperity. They are democratic in nature and seek to destroy Lumonite Inc. It is their sole belief that humanity should rise again under better leadership with better morals. Skinjobs are usually turned away while robots are inspected for hostility and reprogrammed to suit whatever purpose the hub needs at the time. Cannibals are killed upon detection. HS is controlled by a president with several underlings in a balance and checks sort of democratic system. Hub rule violators are often judged in front of an audience who then vote on the punishment. Upon entering an HS hub, patrons will be searched for chems and turned away if any are found. An entrance free is not charged for HS hubs.
The Phunks: As far as mercenary groups go, this group is one of the largest. They are made up of a ragtag group of wanders and freelancers that united together under a colloquial name. They operate many chem smuggling missions into HS hubs for coin on the side, but their main source of income is selling themselves out as hired guns. A share of each members proceeds goes to their faction leader. They hold no set hub but have small operations set up in the independent hubs. Their headquarters is said to lay somewhere in New York, but no one but the members seem to know where. So far, they have yet to get involved with the Lumonite vs. Humanity's Stand struggle and have no hopes of doing so anytime soon. They seemed to be mostly interested in earning money. They are accepting of skinjobs as members and equals. Robots are also accepted. Their response to cannibals ranges from neutral to disgust.
Names and descriptions have yet to be decided. I would love to craft these with the group as a whole
Humans: Your run of the mill average Joe or Jane. Humans are very susceptible to chem addiction. They may or may not have had cybernetic implants before the Fall.
Robots: Crafted before the Fall, these are synthetic life with humanoid appearances. While this can vary, the only thing that usually sets them apart from humans is antennae where ears should be. These antennae can vary in appearance. Robots have a full human spectrum of emotions with higher than average intelligence. Along with their emotions, all bots are programmed to specific tasks. They excel at the tasks they are programmed to and will spend large amounts of time doing them. Their emotions are stimulated to happiness, fulfillment, and contentment when completing their programmed tasks. The most common robot tasks are protection, being a nanny, cleaning, cooking, repairing, and socializing. Robots can be reprogrammed by those with enough skill to do anything. They are immune to chem addiction.
Skin Jobs: Skinjobs are the byproduct of chem testing. They are humanoids who resemble zombies in appearance. Some may be rotted to the bone while others may still have most of their skin in tact. Skinjobs come in two types: feral and normal. Feral skinjobs with attack anything that moves and have little speech ability left. They are violent and lack any organization or civilization. They are all cannibals. Normal skinjobs still retain their full human faculties and speech. They are resistant to chem addiction.
Cannibal: Cannibals can be either skinjobs or nomal humans. They are considered the most depraved of the world, even more so than addicts. They survive off human flesh to prevent starvation, and when this is revealed to others, it usually doesn't go over very well. That is why most of them live in seclusion from the rest of the world. They all seem to be rather loony. No one is quite sure whether it is the loneliness of being an outcast that drives them up the wall or if it is something that has to do with eating human flesh.
US Dollars: The beauties are a rarity and will get you more than most other forms of currency. Even before the Fall, finding paper money was rare and had no real use other than collection purposes until chem production brought currency back into play. Now they are mainly used by Lumonite Inc., who control the largest supply, but a few still show up elsewhere every now and then.
Chips: Poker chips of various colors that all account for one chip. These are used heavily in each Faction and Hub.
Bartering: Still a viable way of obtaining new items and gear
I was thinking that this would actually be something we all keep track of in LGV. For instance, we would all start off with a certain number of chips or US dollars depending on your chosen faction and would keep it at the corner of each of our posts. It would be subtracted from as our characters preformed in game actions such as buying food, chems, or gear. This is just an idea to add to the theme of survival and disparity.
you can suggest changes to any aspect and you may also suggest more major or minor factions or add terms to the game world.

❏ Hub Leaders

❏ Leader of The PhunksNote:
These are just basic roles and such. The battle between Lumonite and Humanity's Stand will be an on going affair meant to give the game purpose and background. However, we may never even explore that route. You are encouraged to forge your own stories. Smut may not be the main focus, but imagine living in a world like this. Sex could get you places. In this regard, tasteful sex scenes(and by tasteful I mean fitting and eloquently detailed) that are well placed in characters current storyline are encouraged. For instance, bribing a hub's gate guard with amorous favors would be an appropriate time for such dalliance. Or even seducing Lumonite's head to his/her own distruction. This game will posted in the extreme groups forum, for the soul purpose of leaving it open to player's kinks and giving room for creativity.
