Interested is recruiting for a group superhero game called "Heroes of the New World", which you're encouraged to check out. The character creation system he's using is ingenious, in my opinion. I quote here:
Click the Random Page Button three times. Those Super Powers are your powers. .... I will allow most powers, as long as they are not overly strong. As for what's Overly strong .. . no omnipotents or omniscients. Or even omnipresents.
So what powers are yours?
This seems like a fun creative exercise to me. Given three completely random superpowers, what kind of cohesive character can you create? I expect some of the combinations to be quite silly, but that seems to me to be part of the fun. Not everyone is Justice League material; some heroes would barely make B-List guest stars on The Tick.
So this thread is for people who'd like to play around with making characters according to this system, but who don't have the time or inclination to join Interested's game. This is just for fun.
I'm going to add my own rules to this. Of course, nobody's going to arrest you if you break them.
1) You must 'roll' three times. Use the "Random Page" button on that site.
2) From each page you must pick at least one power, or aspect of power. You don't need to use everything on the page; in fact, that's probably a bad idea.
3) You must give your hero an appropriate comic book name.
Anything else is up to you. Origin story, secret identity, battle cry, modus operandi, costume, whatever. Supervillians, sidekicks, etc. are all fair game. The goal here isn't to come up with the most powerful combination, it's to happen upon interesting characters by sheer synchronicity.
So Roll -- and then Justify!
