My advice for new players always stay in cover and keep unit in firing range of each other. This will really help!
I have an idea of what I'm looking for.
6 men(and/or women) unit of people who have psi powers at least one of each type.
Assault characters can be very useful in room-to-room fighting. Their combination of high mobility and powerful close-range attacks suits them well to UFO Crash infiltration and alien base assaults. They also make superb scouts on the open battlefield, stepping into the fog of war while their squad mates wait just behind on Over watch and Reaction Shots.
Assault characters can get into a lot of trouble if even slightly mismanaged, finding themselves surrounded and overwhelmed by ambushes
Heavy specialists carry powerful automatic weapons and explosive rocket launchers.
The main weakness of heavies is mobility. While their movement speed is equitable with other soldiers, their best abilities can only be activated before movement.
Snipers wield high-damage, long ranged attacks. A properly placed Sniper can dominate a battlefield, dealing lethal damage to targets softened up, pinned down, and flushed out by other team members.
Their rifles are also inaccurate at close range.
Support personnel are battlefield medics and area control troops par excellence. They wield the balanced medium range rifle-class weapons. Their smoke grenades are absolute lifesavers when the player makes a mistake that leaves a soldier vulnerable, and their Medikit affinities allow them to heal far more effectively than other classes. They can develop good mobility and suppression capabilities and provide buffs to other troops.
Unlike Support classes in some other tactical games, Support troops in XCOM are quite useful in a firefight. While they devote part of their time to protecting and healing other squad members, they are deadly combatants.

Standard weapons are a modified Earth guns that are made of and can fire bullets made of alien alloy. Standard weapons are the most balanced weapon.
Laser weapons are any weapons or thing that fires laser. Laser are the most accurate weapon type, but the least powerful.
Plasma weapons are any weapons or thing that fires plasma. The most powerful of weapon classes but the least accurate.
Four types of body armor Ghost Armor, Archangel Armor, Titan Armor and Psi Armor.
Titan armor would let it user stand on equal ground with a berserker. But would be slow moving.
Ghost armor would let is user turn invisible for a few minutes at a time. has a grapple hook for scaling high ledges and hanging off them.
Archangel armor let it user fly for a set amount of time. Once out of fuel the user will drop to the ground.
Psi Armor pushes its users psi power to it limits. The psi armor offers no real protection from assault.

Arc Thrower (capture aliens and alien weapons)
Chitin Plating ( reduced melee damage taken)
Combat Stims (think if steroids and speed had a baby)
