An unknown woman is taken in at a hospital after a violent car crash. She is rushed to the hospital and arrives just barely alive. But despite all odds she is saved by the hospital's best doctor Martin Caine but just as the first operation is done complications starts to happen. Again her life is hanging on a thread and during the week doctor Caine is forced to operate on the woman several times more. In the end he does manage to save her but in the process he is forced to amputate both her arms and legs.

Still not coming out from her unconsiousness the doctor keeps checking in on her in the weeks to come still without any progress to learn who the woman is, nor anyone actually comes to search for her. It is in this stage he discovers that he is drawn to the now helpless woman and an idea of taking her for his own toy at home and from there the story begins.
