Well, you can always find the name like Apricot in another language.  Therefore it has a kind of mysterious element but humorous when people figure out the meaning.

"Holy shit who was that?"
"That was <insert foreign name>"
"Oh damn, what's that mean."
"Means Apricot."
"Serious?"
"You wanna tell her that, go ahead.  I like my brains in my head."

Seriously, if you can make a name for yourself as a badass weapon specialist with a street name like Apricot, you a bonafide badass.  :D

Plus, fun story of how you got it - some troll rampaging on amphetamines, soaking bullets like they were rain drops - one shot from a pistol, a runner keeping her cool...

Bam!  Street Name for life.

I agree with Ciosa on this one. Apricot would be a sweet nick for a weapons specialist.

I have to say, the model I'm using was named appropriately.  The only name I can think of for her..is her own!

FYI, if anyone wants to take Desperado as a contact, he counts as a x1 Bartender.  The owner of the Duke Saloon, which is going to have it's own thread.  Popular runner bar with a western theme.

Actually, one of the nicknames I have on her sheet is Boom Boom.  ;)

I had a 'engineer' by that name.. (Modelled after Minnie Mei of gunsmith Cats fame).. kept an explosive lab in her kitchen and had a HUGE radio implant and typically a dozen or so encrypted detonators. Made for fun things like a bottle of texas pete used as a makeshift grenade. :D

Hmm..another idea....drat!

I just might take You up on that Lunar. I have three contact points to use.

Okay guys, my character has some yakuza connections as well as some Japanese ethnicity so here are some options for apricot in Japanese:

Ume - pronounced oo-may, which actually sounds pretty cool.

Miume - pronounced mee-oo-may, also cool..

Kyouka - pronounced kyo-u-kah, which actually means apricot flower rather than apricot.

There are several other words for apricot but most of them have four or more syllables, so they don't exactly roll off the tongue lol.

Any preferences?

I'm leaning towards Ume myself.  Drat, that's gonna be a lot of find and replacing in my document, lol.

I like Ume too. Find and Replace ALL.. one and done, baby.

I think I will change my bartender contact to Desperado too, since Rodeo frequents the place... it's a good fit for him, after all. Western theme, Rodeo, Desperado... lol

It can be tricky.. I'm toying around with a Elf Mage/Surge victim whose name is Alice Crowley who follows Black Magic/Seductress.. so I'm going with 'Syn'.

Remember, we're saying no to surge in this game, Callie.

Is that chart for run difficulties and payout modifiers on the Wiki somewhere?

Not yet.  I'm not sure which section to put it in, to be honest.  I may just stick with putting it on the first post of the OOC when that thread gets made.

Seems like the Advancement category of Into The Shadows would be perfect, since it comes right after the Lifestyles with their Monthly cost, and nothing yet listed as to how we make money monthly.

EDIT: Also, wouldn't a maxed-out Face be able to get +8 to the payout mod, instead of the +6 you originally listed? According to the Wiki, only Physical stats are capped at x2 before racials or cyber-boosts.

Sadly that function doesn't help in any possessive instance of the word, so I have to check it all after I replace it all.

edt: okay I think I have a history done now I just have to take a look at equipment again and I should be ready to send it in.  Whoot!

Ah you are correct.  Yeah, I missed that.  I hadn't factored that in when I thought about matrix and magic stuff though.  Those whole sections were written as if mentals were capped at 2 as well.

I have a dilemma now.  I'm leaning toward just making the x2 max apply to mental and physical stats.  That way I won't have to alter the magic and matrix stuff and later when we introduce cyber/bioware that can increase mental stats, it'll give them more meaning.

I'd rather keep it the way it is, because as-written that means you basically have to be an Elf in order to be an effective Face, since there's no cyber/bioware that increases mental stats as-printed. If they are printed later, they can be balanced appropriately.

Not that I'm biased or anything.

Not exactly true.  You could be an adept to get a x4 Charismatic.

Take the power "Increased Attribute - Charismatic".

I suppose we can tentatively keep it the way it is for now and deal with any problems/imbalances later.

EDIT:  What I may do in that case is raise the drain difficulty of standard spells from Willful x1 to Willful x2 and the advanced spells to Willful x3.  Just an idea.  I just don't want drain to be too easily circumvented.  Magic is mentally exhausting.

That would require you to first create an Adept Power which can do this. :)

Currently there is only Improved Physical Attribute.

Is it Physical only?  Huh, I could have sworn it was any attribute.
