What's people's thoughts on the upcoming line Mummy: The Curse?

The little I've seen of it makes it sound very, very cool, but that's still not much. I'm intrigued how they'll be handling whatever the Mummy Power Stat is called, since I read somewhere that unlike normal characters who build from 1 to 10, Mummies start at 10 and gradually lose Power, returning to their slumber when they 'bottom out'.

World of Darkness has always really interested me; unfortunately, I've never gotten to play for lack of a game group  :-\ Malkavians from Masquerade seemed like a really nifty thing, and the Machiavellian power struggles and intrigue that the vampires really lend themselves to sounds awesome.

Are there any WoD games going on these forums?

It's called being in love with a gaming setting.  It's okay, we all are.

Got an image of me in a year or so, "wanna play WoD?"

-motions towards overflowing bookcase-

"I have Vampire, Mage, Demon, Wraith, Eastern versions of three of them, supplements of all the races, groups, traditions, whatever. Supplements on everything, hell I have setting books and....yeah, pick and choose, I've read them all...at least three times."

There are worse fates, my friend.  Much worse fates.  Like... collecting Pokemon cards or playing Fatal.

I collected the former as a kid, I do wonder where my collection disappeared off too, the nostalgic value of those would have been high ;D

I am just as guilty with Magic cards, albeit I still have them and occasionally play with our gaming group. Oh God, my entire childhood in a box...

I think there are more adults playing the Pokemon games than there are kids. I know about two-thirds of the people I know at university are maniacs about it.

I was....9.....yeah, when it became popular, so yeah, Pokemon kids are now adults.

Pokemon kids are adults with kids getting into that stuff too.

But it's not the same. As kids, people wanted to Catch Em All, and be Pokemon Masters. As adults, it's all about EVs and IVs and selectively breeding mass-breeding your Pikachu while ruthlessly culling the inferior stock to eugenically develop the Perfect Pikachu that you can take to a professional Pokemon tournament where the naturally high-stat creatures are banned. It's Pokemon, but they're ripped the soul out of it.

 I play Black 2 on a daily basis >.>

Also, I am very interested in the Mummy: the Curse splat coming out soon.

Also, why aren't there any NWoD games going on in E?

Also, we don't have a thread for Exalted here, do we?

Also, the only time I seemed to be focused is when I'm going over 24 hours without sleep.

Because no one wants to ST it, probably. NWoD isn't quie as freeform-friendly than OWoD, because it lacks the extensive metaplot to hang a story on, and system games are a distinct minority of E-games. I know I'd love to play - well, anything but Requiem or Forsaken, really. The former because I get enough of it LARPing, the latter because I just don't like it.

If you check the group games that are active and some of the listings (might have to dig a bit or run a search), you will probably find a few.

So, how merit-based is social mobility in the Camarilla?  Is rank and station determined primarily via Generation?  Or can a neonate rise in a short amount of time?
