Andromeda Five was designed to contain the worst offenders across the universe. The men and women that fill it's cells and airlocks were deemed too great of offenders to be allowed in the general population of the quadrents and as a result were sent to live out their sentences and perhaps their lives in the depths of space. The sector was named the deadlands for a reason. Nothing around the station could sustain life and the planets that came the closest, even with the help of machines, only lasted a short while.
Years passed and the station, along with the people that called it home were forgotten, until one day a lone craft appeared and brought with it news of great discovery. The occupant claimed to be a resident of a nearby world and "unknowingly" so he said stumbled upon the station, but that was hardly the case and soon the men and women that called Andomeda Five home were nothing more then slaves, unable to seek assistance, unable to raise a hand in defense. They were the lost, the forgotten, the damned. No one would care about them. No one would care if they died.
But they were wrong and now it is up to you, be you inmate or guard, citizen or slave. It is up to you to reclaim your birthrights and your names and if you survive..your freedom.
