A New WorldAfter the depopulating Brood War, Terrans renewed their efforts to expand and recolonize. Most of the territory lost to the Swarm was retaken, and a few new planets were settled as well. One such colony, named Prosperity, was a relatively barren world rich in vital ores. Although cold and possessing little native life, it was quickly settled by industrious people from all walks of life, looking to start anew. A large mining town named Bounty sprouted up. Fast forward four years, and the Swarm has returned, it's intent seemingly to eradicate all Terran life. They storm the planet, overrunning it within days. They appear to be searching for something. A Protoss fleet has also followed them to Prosperity, fighting the Zerg but doing little to protect the Terrans. Seemingly abandoned by the Dominion, the survivors of the initial assault desperately search for a way off world.
Oblivion IncarnateThe Terrans, ever inquisitive, have discovered an alien shrine on a distant moon. Constructed by the Xel'Naga eons ago, the shrine is vast and sprawling, but seems to serve no known purpose. Our characters would be part of a research team who have settled here semi-permanently to investigate the shrine and it's builders. Although the Swarm initially avoids it during its resurgence, the isolated research team finds themselves stalked by a monstrous being that has awoken in the bowels of the shrine. An unholy fusion of Zerg and Protoss, this Hybrid is urgently searching for a way off world, and is more than willing to slaughter a handful of pitiful Terrans along the way.
Raiders, Roll!Raynor's Raiders has become one of the major forces at play in the Koprulu Sector, with tens of thousands of soldiers fighting the Dominion and the Swarm, commanding everything from freighters to battlecruisers into the fray. But this major military rebellion had humble beginnings: a small group of militia and refugees following their Marshall into the unknown as their world burned in the void. Forced to ally with the dissident Arcturus Mengsk and his Sons of Korhal after Mar Sara's destruction, Raynor and his ragged followers join the fight to overthrow the corrupt and militaristic Confederacy. With powerful alien races annihilating entire worlds, their mettle will be tested in this unfolding conflict.
Merc HeavenD-3974, a.k.a. Dead Man's Rock, is a rugged planet on the fringe of the Koprulu Sector. Notoriously lawless and ignored by both the Dominion and the rampaging Swarm, the planet is dominated by inhospitable badlands and ruled by crime lords and mercenary groups. The many space stations that clutter its orbit are decrepit, teeming with smugglers and pirates. A dangerous locale for most people, Dead Man's Port is the closest to heaven mercenaries will ever get. Contracts are plentiful and well paid, although one stands out in particular: Warlord Joy, ruler of the town of Paradise, is looking for several mercenaries to retrieve a "special something-something." She's notorious for her often suicidal contracts, but the survivors are always richly rewarded.
The Second Siege of Mar Sara ColonyDespite being overrun by the zerg and sterilized by the protoss, the colonists of Mar Sara have endured. in 2501, Kel-Morians staked claims on Mar's rich and unique mineral deposits. Within months, Mar Sara was recolonized by many of its former inhabitants, seeking to terraform their damaged world. Four years later, the zerg Swarm returned en masse. With Dominion defenses in disarray due to the actions of Jim Raynor, the colony was virtually defenseless until a Dominion officer managed to rally his forces and organize a militia to keep the zerg at bay. The survivors of the initial blitz have gathered in Mar Sara City; Dominion soldiers rub elbows with Kel-Morian miners, backwater militia mingle with city-folk, and even mercs set aside their grudges (for now). But the Swarm's onslaught is endless, and both ammunition and hope are in short supply.
