Could've fooled me on the second matter, but if you don't then I'll have to give you a pass on that point.

A gentle reminder before it comes up elsewhere--'activist' in relation to a judge means only that you disagree with the judicial decision.  It's been abused by a lot of people who haven't bothered to read the cases about which they are complaining!

Actually I have to hand it to the California Justices for basically making a ruling that pretty much guarantees that an initiative for same sex marriage will be on the ballot for the 2008 elections. You couldn't have asked for a better way to get everyone to come out and vote.

Arizona may be looking at the same thing in regards to a constitutional amendment, although whether it will make it on the ballot in time for the 2008 election remains to be seen.

The Arizona Senate is the one apparently holding up the process.

Well the majority of Californians did say that they didn't want it. The appointed representatives, justices, etc. are supposed to act based on the will of the people, yet they went against what most of their state wanted by doing that.

This belongs in the politics section. Please don't make us ask again.

I think it's totally exciting.  I have a feeling I'll be attending a lot more weddings this year!  I love free booze.   ;D

(smacks forehead)

Oh, right!  More wedding presents to buy.  That should give the local economy a solid shot in the arm.  Didn't even think about that...

I think it's a really, really pale green or something.   :)  But then, I, my best person, and my groomsman were all wearing kilts at my wedding.  With different tartans.  VERY different (fortunately, none of them were MacLoud).  And Mrs. MP wore a rather elegant semi-Victorian white dress, which goes with everything.

We weren't too concerned with the 'color coodination' thing, but as I recall her Matron of Honor and Bridal attendants wore burgundy.  I think.  I wasn't paying too much attention to them at the time.   :)

 :D

I would have done that at mine, but at that time and place I knew of no place in my hometown that would have rented me one.  My date was scandalized when I told her about that plan...Apparently she had not realized that I really, really hate tuxedos.
