I think anyone likes slime girls. They can do all sorts. >_>

I would go with her just joining like normal. But I don't know the roles, so I'm kinda stuck there. :S

BruceTheCat

There is a navigator, cook, helmsman, engineer, and cook I be live. I don't mind you making up your own roles that you think might help. What's important is just that you are there, not that you have a important job. Through character rogression we will make our own roles.

And your friendly ship's weapons master, too!

Chara's ready, just looking for a pic.

Red, you stated before that peeps need a job that bring them to the ship. -prods-

Red Lobster - Captain/Cook
Laughing Hyena – Helmsmen
Dorian Grandale – Task Master/ Former Military

Oreida Wesker – Engineer
Calison – Vigil Point

Katra is making a Gunner.

Slime girl. -taps her jaw- I sure the Helmsmen and Look out could be star gazers since they're use to it.
Could be a lore specialist or rogue. -nods- Everyone needs a lovable rogue and decoy.  Good at distracting and finding traps, palming stuff...

Inari

XD

Lore specialist I guess it is. Need someone who knows shit about things/places they are going. :P

Oreida Wesker

-nods- You could be both, Lore and rogue, but it would be fun. I'm sure slime creatures can live for a long time, just keep her away from the salt.

Dorian Grandale

#82
Name: Bartrend "B'akuu'san" Ralkan
Age: 30
Position: Crew Chief/Marine

Appearance:
What I Am
Standing at 6 foot nothing, with a well-muscled physique, he would be impressive to most humans. And this would be without counting his snow-white fur, marred only by the dark grey stripes that runs down his back. The stripes also encase his forearms and calves, giving the impression of long gloves and tall boots. Large, predatory eyes shimmer a deep green as they track anything of interest. Several scars are evident, though not readily visible, upon his chest and legs.

His attire is simple, it being a loose shirt and trousers cut off at the knee. He wears no shoes, for none would fit his clawed, wide feet. He carries three weapons, almost constantly. A sharp, black steel knife at his belt, which was a gift from his father. A longsword, made of the same black metal, rests upon his back on a leather scabbard. Finally, a large boomerang, made of wood as hard as metal, hangs on a sling at his back, across the sword.

Personality: He has a curious streak half a world wide, but that's tempered by his own self-imposed discipline as a warrior. If he cannot figure something by observing alone, his questions will be short, but amicable. Females not of his kin seem to confuse him a great deal, with their wildly mixed signals.

Background: Growing up in a land-bound beast tribe, he chose the warrior's path from young age, but quickly grew restless, wondering if there was more to his craft, specially seeing the great wood-and-metal birds that flew over their island on occasion. When one of such landed, and their occupants showed themselves, there was a great many questions. Why have they come? What do they want? Are they enemies? When the strangers approached, speaking in a broken, but understandable tongue, he was instantly intrigued. He decided to go with the flying people, after they set up trade with his tribe. His time with the human warriors taught him much, but still he travels on, looking for more. His curiosity of the world, and all the wonderful devices and people in it, has kept him from returning to his people, as of yet.

Note: His tribal name is not known to the crew.

Magic Color: Moon of Silver; Curia

Helpful Tips on a Skies of Arcadia. Just stick to: Magics and Islands/Ports

Also thinking that we should incoporate the Black Moon Stone. The 7th stone could cover Hexes and Time, would be easy to set up and if we do get an eight player, could have a 8th stone of the Gold Moon, looking over the stone again to conjure an idea sinc the game is based off it and not a replay of it. -nods-

I thought it was slugs that were to stay away from salt... >_>

I'm going to step away from this game.  I don't know enough of about the setting to be able to contribute, and I don't believe the posting demands of the game will fit my schedule.

Thank you for considering me and best of luck with this.

Calison

I'm pretty sure navigation would be in my character's background/ she would know how to navigate using the stars and such ^^

I think I also like the idea of incorporating two more additional moons if the need arises. I think the moons themselves can only be seen respectively from the countries where they rise, so it wouldn't be out of the question at all to have two more moons. I suppose its a good thing Arcadia doesn't have oceans of water, because their tides would be wonky xD

For the potential Gold Moon, maybe it resides over luck and fate?

Do you still require more female members?

I don't see any problem with it. :)

Oreida Wesker

Vaulera:
My apologise, Star and Katra popped on and got their characters workin, though if you would like to play a male character, we are looking for one more if Kaisude doesn't get back to us. We're trying to get an even amount of people and Red doesn't want the crowd too large. Understandably so. -nods-

Calison:
Yes! I was toying with that idea from a old diety with golden horns. I was thinking Luck; cause more rare things, better equiptment, or more coin/gems to drop or treasure looting and like Charm to confuse enemies into being temporary allies. Maybe a third option too of.. Gold for Luck/Fortune, Charm, and might have to look over the other magics. Enlightenment/Focus: I'm thinking perhaps a type of boost to moon powers of the closes ally or self would be a good potential power..

Fate would be harder to control though and that might be a bit too 'strong' or could make the Golden moon holders seem like seers which is more like a cosmic energy feel. Ya dig?
Hots and Nots

Calison

I agree that Fate magic would be a lot harder to control and balance against everything else, so I'm digging your ideas for Luck/Fortune and Enlightenment/Focus. I'm not sure where you and Red are on the idea incorporating SP as a game mechanic, but it might be interesting to have a spell, likely high level/ not easily accessible, that when cast allows for those that use their turn to focus to add SP to the pool to grant a bit more. Just an idea I'm throwing out there, it might be a bit too much.

Since the other moons only have two main domains and sets of spells associated with them, we might want to limit the Gold Moon to the same parameters. So we'd have to choose between Luck/Fortune, Charm, Enlightenment/Focus and what others we think that could potentially fit for those two domains.

Oreida Wesker

Silver, of life and death, has three properties so Silver and Gold will have three respectively.

Gold Moon of Chance and Wonder
Spell Property: Luck, Charm, and Focus

Black Moon of Supersition
Spell Property: Hex and Fear

Mechanics:
And there is SP, MP, and HP, right? If I make that, I won't make any stats, just points on attacks based with weapons and minor mods.

As to a game mechanic, I'll try to see what I can do about a minor stat that only effects HP, SP, and MP foreveryone could choose. Boosting these will purely be boosted by combat or certain events, maybe. Players can choose where to assign them.

Then I have Action Points [AP] everyone gets 20 to start, has a little chart for use of: Power Block [10 AP], Critical [10 AP], Signature Move [10 ap], and Boost Attack [+2 base damage per 1 AP]

I'm not sure if weapon base attack should depend on Pierce, Slash, and Blunt weapons. It would have a minor mod, but for the most point I was thinking of having everyone's base attack be the same when armed, until they upgrade it with points. [the will be determined by how many enemies there are and divide that amoung the 'party' in the fight]

But we have a while to discuss it and any fights that happen before this is completed can be rewarded later, so no worries. I intend to make this simple as it's not the focal part of the game. -nods-

Calison

Oh right, Silver had the revival spells, instant death spells, and the status aliment heal spell. Forgot about Curia.

Sounds like you have some good ideas about the mechanics that we could use for combat and the like. My only concern is whether or not everyone is going to be on board with it. At the moment we're not in a systems forum and I think that maybe that might be part of the reason people signed up for the game, that it would be completely freeform without the use of a system.

Dorian Grandale

Hehe. Bertrand is the son of a powerful shaman, so him having these would make sense.. even if he might no realize it just yet..

Cailson:
Well I suggested a small system and he agreed it was a good idea and no one else made any comments except you, so fact is they ignored my posts in favor of his or they silently agreed in having no problems with it.

But the system is not hte core ruling faction like it would be in most games when considering actions, it's only to help keep reigns, but I will write it out and see what people think. It's not enforcing, just looking for the best fit.

Just like I told Red that this was an expedition ship for hire, but when he later offered up the idea, he stated them all to be pirates. :P
Hots and Nots

All my devotion betrayed, I'm no longer afriad.

Calison

Personally, I'm all for systems play, it, like you said, helps to keep reigns on the action so we don't end up unreasonably dodging or hitting everything. I just want to make sure everyone is on board with it before you move forward with creating something--better to get any concerns or reservations out of the way so there's no confusion later on. Wouldn't want you to put in a lot of work for it to end up as naught ^^;;

That said, I'm looking forward to see what you come up with. ^^

Oreida Wesker

Oh, well, basically that's it, all I have to do is refine what I said. LoL, not too much work, tis a little smeepy right now. -snuggles into Cali and murmurs lowly- Psych gets me sleepy..

Okay People. Look that post about my system idea and if you'd give it a chance and like to offer suggestions. It's just like having a mini game more then a system anyway. I ain't good at systems unless I have a cheat sheet so no fears. it will be very easy to use.

@ Valuera

I'm perfectly fine with you joining if you'd like. It's not extremely important to me that we have an equal number of male to female ratio. Are you familiar at all with the game?
