Back to BlackShikai;
Tsubame's Shikai is a rather wicked-looking scimitar, long and thin rather than a more powerful-looking weapon like a falchion. Despite it being extremely sharp, it's more worrisome trait is it's ability to attack at range. Fuujin has the ability to launch long-range slashes with the air itself, and sweep up slicing cyclones to help defend against enemy ranged attacks, or throw the enemy off-balance. There aren't too many Wind Zanpakuto these days of such a high level, let alone in the hands of such a young Shinigami.Bankai;
"Become the wind that sweeps all away, Fuujin no Ookami."
Visually, Fuujin no Ookami's only real physical differences from Fuujin are difficult-to-see grooves, lines, and holes in the blade (other than the blade itself becoming slightly wider). These changes cause the blade to whistle in various pitches and tones, creating a beautiful symphony or chaotic dischord depending on how it's used. In terms of power, it's no stronger than it was before, in normal terms. It grants the already fast Tsubame a shocking increase in speed, as well as increasing the area-of-effect and range of the blade's wind attacks. Small air slashes are now bigger, faster, fly farther, for example.Specialty;
Hohou. While she is a fairly skilled swordsman, she also has the distinction of being the fastest (Non-Captain Ranked) Shinigami outside of the Special Forces.13 Court Guard Squad position;
8th Division, 3rd Seat.Personality;
Tsubame is a bit of an enigma amongst the 13 Court Guard Squads. She always has a bright and gentle smile, treating everyone equally with kindness and respect, regardless of rank. Like her Captain, she's easygoing to a fault, and prefers to take time to sniff the flowers rather than do her work as a Shinigami. After all, there's no point in doing today what could be safely put-off till tomorrow, right? The overly kind and gentle woman just seems to radiate that she'd be better off low-seated in the fourth division . . and she utterly hates that.
A large portion of her kindness, and gentleness, is all bullshit. Deep down she's extremely greedy and manipulative. This young woman is all about getting ahead in life, using as little energy as possible, a true testament to her laziness. The only reason she didn't join Aizen after his little revolt (other than not being recruited) was that it was just easier to keep her comfy life in the Seireitei rather than run off with the overpowered lunatic. The speedy Shinigami thinks that the whole situation is stupid, and will eventually get resolved with or without her help, so why rock the boat further?Quirks;
Tsubame can't help but reflexively act like a perfect 'yamato nadeshiko' 90% of the time, it's become pure habit now. Still, when she gets aggrivated, everyone in the area better watch out!Habits;
Tsubame has a weakness for the sake, pretty flowers, pretty women, and other various delights. Her captain isn't the only one who peeps on the womens' baths, though she is lucky enough to be able to do it from the inside!Phobias;
If she's afraid of anything, she doesn't show it! . . . Well, there was that one time she fought a Hollow in the form of a giant snake, and completely freaked out . . .History/Background info;
Once upon a time in Shibuya, there was a little girl. This little girl had a hard life, growing up with parents that enjoyed to drink a little too much, and lashed out at any little problem that was caused by the little girl. That poor little girl learned quickly that her parents wanted nothing less than perfection, despite their glaring imperfections. So, that's what the little girl did. She became the perfect daughter; pretty, well-mannered, athletic, and clever.
The perfect little girl was praised by her teachers for being so smart and well-mannered. She gathered many friends to her sides who loved her for her kindness, cuteness, and helpfulness. She even began to win awards for her skill at singing, as well as her talent for running and jumping. She was invited to a private school with the fees waived, starting in jr. high, for her brilliance. As she got older her ability to pretend to be perfect became more and more powerful. The awards and accolades rolled in, causing her parents to become honestly proud of her. They even began to stop drinking, and become better people themselves! Now the little girl's high school life was absolutely perfect . . . until she was murdered by a Hollow during a track and field match, along with a good number of other innocent people.
As the Hollow continued it's rampage, the girl's ghost laid on the ground, writhing in agony. Her chain was torn from her body, and she was screaming, as she began to Hollowify and a mask began to form over her face. The last thing she saw before her mind drifted away, was a black kimono flash in front of her eyes, and the hilt of a sword slam down towards her face . . .
The girl woke up in the Soul Society, having been successfully saved from completely becoming a Hollow, and moved on . . though not to reincarnation. It seems that she was able to become such a fantastic student and athlete, because she was somehow inadvertantly tapping into her latent spiritual power. With such a high level of spiritual potential despite dying recently, it was surprisingly easy to get into the shinigami academy, and pass in record time with flying colors. In fact, her unusual boost of powers was pretty surprising to the powers-that-be, and lead to her being sent to the 8th Squadron so she could continue to figure out what kind of Shinigami she'd be best as, in relative safety.
Due to having a similar personality type as the Captain, as well as being surprisingly skilled when it came to learning new forms of Zanjutsu and Hohou techniques (and being pretty probably didn't hurt), Tsubame clawed her way up the ladder. In one and a half decades, Tsubame has risen to the 3rd seat of Division 8. If she was better at logistics and organization, she might have even surpassed Nanao and become Vice Captain . . but she didn't, thank goodness. Despite a discrete invitation to the Special Forces due to her remarkable speed and proficiency in Hohou, she turned it down in order to keep her current high rank in Division 8, while she continues to plot . . better to be near the top of the pile of slackers, than at the bottom of the pack of powerful ninjas. Starting over from the bottom of a division is NOT something she's interested.
