The Heartstone’s Curse

Hello everyone!

I was hoping to start up a monster/tentacle sword and sorcery fantasy game. This would be a free form game with guidelines. No dice, no game mechanics, rules or anything of the sort but a small set of character building guidelines. Think of it as a helpful tool for players and GM. Over time I have found such things to come in handy should conflicts arrise. Players have free reign to guide the story, the world is dangerous and the non-con part of it is just a reflection of that, as are the associated monsters. However, 'normal' relationships are not discouraged but if you play in this world, know that tentacles are inevitable.

The setting takes place on the world of Arlin. An epic battle has raged for eons between the dreaded Feyr following their dark god the Faceless One and the noble Fey who follow the beautiful goddess Hanlanil. Their battle was fought to a standstill until the arrival of humans. Humans and Fey were natural allies and together they fought back the Feyr and in age afterwards humans spread out across the globe. The Feyr would occasionally muster the strength to rise up and the humans and Fey would set aside their conflicts to fight against the darkness once more. In secret this caused the Fey great distress and worry and in a bold decision action was taken. A powerful artifact that would come to be called the Hearstone was created to protect the world.

It did not. Instead the Feyr learned of the Hearstone and seized control of it. They called forth the Faceless One to curse it and their dark god did. With deadly consequences for all but what else would be expected of the mad god? All Feyr females died as did Fey males. Not only that, but the Curse has turned the natural world upside down and the perverse power of the dark god has seeped into everything. Now the lands are filled with beasts and monsters that are Cursed, seeking to siphon off the life energy of others. The world of humans has collapsed under the weight of shattered Fey and monstrous onslaught. As civilzation crumbles you are thrust into the world, will you fight to preserve what is good and turn back the Curse? Or will you succumb to the temptations of darkness?

I've let this stew a few days so I'm going to start a thread with game information and a place to post characters if you are interested.  Once we have a couple of players we can start up. Nobody has joined yet. I was considering character concepts and waiting to see what others came up with before I joined.

Yup, no one has joined yet. So I am just looking around and waiting to see if people are going to. In the meantime, I'm looking for other games to play to hold me over.  :)
